REVIEWER # 2
We all know how hard it is to book a hotel when you're thousands of miles away trying to book something in an area that you assume is a great area, right? Well I have to say I assume the worst about many Hotel's, especially after seeing the reviews and let's not lie, the name itself can say it all as well.
After I found out about hostels in Hong Kong and not only how small they are but that you share a room with a whole bunch of people I realized that I needed to spend my money on an actual hotel instead of in the hostel especially since sleep is very important to me when I'm traveling! I looked on booking.com at least 3 days before I arrived to Hong Kong and seen many hotels that were less than my hostel price average about less than $500 for a whole week. With no hesitation I instantly book my hotel and had no doubt in my mind for the choice that I had made.
I arrived in Hong Kong on November 19th and check in was very smooth. The location itself is amazing! Located right in Causeway Bay 5 minute walk from Times Square, five minute walk from the actual Causeway Bay station and about 10 minute walk from the Central Station. The area also offers tons of great food all around the area and also a perfect place to catch the train! Let's not forget that the Jardine's Market is just walking distance as well.
The hotel is very much secured at the front entrance and guests are not able to come in without being buzzed in and residents are not able to open the door unless they have their room key. The hotel is a 17 floor level and luckily I was on 14th floor with the window (which was a special request by me). Please be aware that not all rooms have windows so if you are in need of a window make sure that you make that request.
I already noticed that the rooms were going to be small, hence the name of the hotel LOL but also by looking at the pictures. The bedroom was a decent size and I did not feel as if it was too small. The beds are queen size but I must admit that the beds are SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE but it's good enough for a couple days. If you can do it...put your back into it! I did it for 7 days and trust me my back was sore for a while, obviously it couldn't do it anymore nights! Please note that the bathrooms are located in the same room with a sliding door. There was not one time where my windows fogged up because of the shower. As long as you make sure that you close the sliding door of the shower you should definitely be good. There is a housekeeper that comes in and cleans your room, makes up your bed, empties the trash and refills the toilet paper (She was awesome the whole time I was there).
One thing that's so amazing about this hotel is that in the front desk area which I have to stay is amazingly organized and is also the main area for Hangouts in case you wanted to meet some friends and or just hang out in the front lobby. But also on that level they have a vending machine that sells food, drinks, as well as travel adapters in case you forget to bring one. Although I remembered a travel adapter I need an additional one and it was very convenient to be able to walk downstairs and buy one for 20 HKD.
The room comes complimentary with coffee and slippers.
Customer services from the front desk agents were amazing! Please know that they do hold a deposit and however you get that back at the end of your stay. When you sign and they would just ask you for a debit or credit card.
Mini Hotel will definitely be a place that I visit if I ever come back to Hong Kong. They have one location in Causeway Bay and 2nd location is in Central!
Not only does the hotel offer a reasonable pricing, but the service and the convenience of being located near everything make a hotel so worth it! I definitely recommend this hotel for a couple days in Hong Kong!
