I was at airport before 7 am to catch my flight. Originally I was gonna get 奇華馬仔for my husband, but I could not find the store (and too lazy consider I woke up at 4 am). I saw this store across the gate and decide to give the 杏仁條 a try. It was a very pleasant surprise. I ate half a box myself on day 1 and it is a little bit on the sweet side. Trying to resist the temptation to eat the other half. Made in Hong Kong, light to carry. Service is good. Fast. That's all I need consider I was at the airport getting ready to go! If it has reduced sugar it will be perfect!

An absolutely genius idea to put an egg tart stand right by the departure gates, with the smell wafting through the airport. Talk about a captive audience, and I meant that in a good way. I bought a 6 pack of 2 traditional crust, two flaky crust, and two durian egg tarts to take back to the USA with me. Landing 13 hours later I shared them with friends. Even without toasting warm they were delicious, and my friends got to try for the first time a HK quality egg tart! The cashier lady was super nice, like a neighborhood auntie, she offered advice and pointed out deals and it didn't feel like an upsell just trying to help you make a good purchase before getting on the plane.

Dan tat and milk tea.

Entirely ordinary food, efficient service, but as some other reviews have said, it is genius to have a milk tea and dan tat place right smack in the middle of the departure gates. King Bakery hits the spot when you're on the run to your flight, even the inside register area is tight, and outside, well, it's the airport, which is a massive terminal with ample seating.

This is a chain in Hong Kong and I spotted near my thermal in HKG. The shop is very small and they have a few flavors of tarts to choose from as well as a small assortment of breads and cakes. I was intrigued by their durian tart but played it safe and got an egg and cheese. Both were very good, not overly sweet IMO and rich but not heavy. They ran about 15 HKD each and they didn't blow my mind but still very delicious and just as good as you will get in an airport.

Yummy egg tart, good size and crispy and flaky crust. It literally melts in your mouth. Fast and speedy service

If you're looking for a quick snack and missed your egg tart hit during your stay in HK. This is your last chance. They have different varieties of egg tarts fresh out of the oven, but it's the Portugal style crust and not the flaky. So you been warned. Tried the salty egg yolk seems to be a trendy thing as far as everything I've been seeing. Not sure if it just happened recently. Fridge offering cold drinks. HK style milk tea and coffee with other variety of beverages as well.

Burnt egg tart

The bottom of my egg tart was burnt so my first bite was gross. Egg tart was ok after I peeled off the bottom but I've definitely had much better egg tarts before. I'm giving them 1 star because the chubby woman working there today (11/13) was so rude!! She gave me so much attitude for trying to ask her whether the cold brew tea has added sugar, and when I didn't understand her prompt of choosing to pay in HKD or USD, she loudly signed, rolled her eyes, and chose for me! It's not my fault you work at a freaking airport where some people will not speak Cantonese, lady! If it bothers you so much, you really should find a non service job!

I like this place for what it has to offer. It's open till late (not sure if it's 24 hours or not) and serves a nice variety of snacks and finger foods. I don't exactly remember their menu items right now but before catching my flight out of Hong Kong, I stopped by here for my morning snack aka breakfast. I had a coconut cream bun and a chicken pie (a small round pastry with chicken filling). Both were good. I saw this place twice as I was at Hong Kong international two times and both the times they were busy (granted it is a very small place but still). Prices are airport food cost reasonable. I wish I had room for more but I had more food to eat elsewhere on the airport so I didn't buy more items. I would definitely recommend this shop for any one who wants to have quick snacks to go and for those who want to try local food items. Thumbs up.

King bakery is not a bad option for some last minute Hong Kong egg tarts. For just HKD 12 you can get a piping hot classic egg tart with the non-flaky crust. Like all Hong Kong egg tarts, it was on the blander side but decent for hk standards. They also sell an assortment of tarts here from salted egg yolk to cheese tarts. I've had some pretty good cheese tarts in HK so I wish I'd tried the ones here. It's a super small shop with no seating areas but you can easily grab a seat at the adjacent gate to enjoy it. I was not planning on getting an egg tart here but the picture of it was just too alluring. I couldn't help myself the third time I passed by it.

Egg tarts, cheese tarts, durian tarts, huge Chinese hotdog and spam egg pineapple cheese sandwich

Line moved slow due to overwhelming people wanting these delicious tarts. Egg custard, cheese custard, durian custard, huge hot dog, slam egg cheese pineapple sandwhich. This place was great and best place I had in the airport wish we had one close by cause now I'm craving it again.

Egg tart with cookie crust (hkd10) - nice and warm 4/5; durian tart with flaky crust (hkd20) - egg tart with durian mousse

The sourdough loaves don't last long in our house. Rounding off the experience is a cosy cluster of tables with tea and coffee service. The tables face a cabinet full of good cheeses and deli meats. It was near insanity, but I loved every step, especially the one where I came right up to Village Bakery's door! The wafting smell of fresh bread and pastries is hard to miss if you know where to start heading towards while in Mui Wo. (Depending upon which direction you are walking from, it's near the back off of Mui Wo Ferry Pier Road, right down the street from Fusion grocery store and around the corner from Wellcome Supermarket.) It's easy to see how it often sells out of their best sellers on weekend mornings! An assortment of trays and bins in behind clear glass doors offers a decent wall of choices. French bread and the like are their specialties but you will find many other types of breads, rolls, muffins, croissants, donuts, even cheese cakes and tarts. Need to put together a charcuterie board? No problem, they offer all the fixings for that too in their refrigerated case near the cashier counter. This tiny bakery also sells coffees, teas, flours, and beans/rice! Nice, dark wood, tables are on the other side of the wall for customers to sit down and enjoy a cup of joe or tea to go along with their purchases. So, what are you waiting for? Grab your music, appetite, (some good walking shoes, too!) and head over to pay the Village so you can let the Proclaimers loose as you move the rhythm while munching on some desserts.... da da da (da da da) But please, don't forget your headphones because not everyone wants to hear your music! Wink, wink!

My SIL insisted I try the restaurant. So glad I did. Love the decor with such an Urban feel. Bikes, tires, and road signs. Clean and modern throughout. I was captivated by their desserts. From the syringe injecting into a Bloody Berry cake to these color dusted cakes with various flavors. Wow, can we say croissant galore. How can you turn down a chocolate dipped croissant or one that is something called creme brulee? Okay, onto their real food. The slow roasted chicken came highly recommended as was the fish and chips. I also wanted to try the gwei miu salmon with a watercress risotto. They also needed to add they garnish the salmon dish with baby arugula. Hello! No need to say more. Sold! The chicken was juicy (brinded almost), full of flavor. The fish and chips had an amazing color on the fry, awesome beer battered flavored, and chunks of fish with every bite. It was over like an olive tapinade tartar sauce, which I couldn't get enough of. The risotto was perfectly cooked, which is hard to do. It was loaded with butter and cheese. Aside from its green color, it was hard to tell it was watercress. The salmon was also perfectly cooked and juicy. My only regret was that I ate too much and didn't save room for their desserts. Next time, for sure. Definitely be back and will be taking the Hubs here when he returns.

We'll squeeze into whatever luggage space we have left with some egg rolls, cookies, tea, wife cakes, so we can bring a little sweetness home with us, to share with our friends. My favorite is their phoenix roll (the plain flavor is the best), the wife cake (no wife in it, just some candied wintermelon), and dragon beard candy. The dragon beard candy especially is almost impossible to find in the U.S. There are plenty of products to choose from, not just cakes but also tea, noodles, sausages, candies and more. A lot of their products are packaged for gifting, and come in various sizes at different price points, so it's a great last stop for souvenirs.

When I first took them off the shelf, the seals were unbroken, indicating the box was unopened. The cashier/service staff offered to "help" by taking the boxes while I looked around the store. After I rung the checkout the boxes became unsealed and half of the box was empty. The only explanation was that the store clerks had opened and stole the cookies while I was browsing the store. This is completely unacceptable and the store clerks were openly stealing from tourists. I expect this from third world areas but not from the airport store of Hong Kong, whose residents claim to be the most civilized in Asia. Stay away.
