This time it was hot, humid, and rainy around 11:20 am and our party of 4 was able to get a table easily though it was crowded again once we were finished. This place is so famous we saw people come straight from the airport with all their luggage! Portions are very good and probably too small for most people but I loved the size. Goose and Soy Sauce Chicken: They are most known for their roast goose which has a complex and layered seasoning different than other HK roast duck/goose places. This is my go to dish, this time it tasted great but my portion of goose was super small and I split it with a friend to not get too full so it was even smaller. We also ordered the same dish with noodles and roast pork with soy chicken, both the people who had this never had Yat Lok before and totally cleared their plates, don't forget to mix each bite with some of the oil scorched green onions!

It's held a one Michelin star consecutively for 11 years!!! This was on my top list of places to go. Obviously, we got the roast geese. It wasn't as good as I had expected because I think we got the fatty leg section. Don't get me wrong, the glistening roast geese was delicious! I just wish it wasn't as fatty. We got the quarter size because we want to try other dishes. Crispy roast pork + Char Siu (Barbecue Pork) was on point! The roast pork skin is crispy and tasty. Char Siu is savory and sweet with smoky flavor. The vegetables was simply prepared but so good. It helps break up the greasy food. White rice and noodles for carb. This was a hearty meal. It is on the expensive side compare to other casual Cantonese bbq meats spot.

Tai Hing has been my go-to Cantonese cafe ever since I started working Hong Kong. It is a chain…read morecafe located throughout Hong Kong's 3 areas just like Tsui Wah, but in my opinion I like what I get at Tai Hing. This location is inside the New Town Mall in Tsuen Wan, on the 2nd floor. The restaurant is not big, but enough for everyone to sit comfortably. To save space, all of the utensils are inside the drawers of each table. So if you don't know where they are, now you know. As a Cantonese cafe, you pay at the front of the restaurant before you leave. The price point is a little higher than regular local cafes, but still cheaper than Tsui Wah. Also, the quality of food does match the price that you are paying. So it's quite fair. Some of my favorite dishes, BBQ Pork and Roasted Duck combo, Soy Sauce Chicken, and Sweet and Sour Pork. I suggest ordering a combo since it comes with soup or drink, a side of rice, and a side of veggie. Since Hong Kong has lots of British influence, the afternoon tea option almost exist anywhere. At Tai Hing, the dishes are at a discounted price during afternoon tea time, which is around 2:30 to 5pm. My tip to you, go during afternoon tea time for a discount, but just go anytime to try it out. I know I will again.
