We came here for dinner after seeing their 50% promo if we made a reservation via the eatigo app (only for certain timeslots). Please note that the discount doesn't apply to seafood, drinks, and the options on the small piece of white paper (signature item).
I haven't went out for hotpot for a long time since in Toronto most of the hotpot places are ayce which I dislike. In hk, there are more a la carte places than ayce. The hotpot here is taiwanese style, but I don't think it's very authentic - it's modified to suit the preferences of hk people.
The selection for soup bases is quite slim - only 4 options. We had the pickled cabbage and pork soup base and it came with lots of toppings already. The soup base was average, not very strong or rich enough in taste. In taiwan the base is much richer and more flavourful.
Toppings wise the selection is average. Food quality was good. The dumplings/wontons and fish/meat balls were excellent and you can taste they were made with quality ingredients. Better than many other hotpot places. Not a lot of fatty meat and lots of variety. The pork meatball with salted egg yolk center was so unique and pretty good!
The portions for the cheaper options were bigger than the portions for the more expensive ones which is understandable.
The sauce options were very limited. There's mainly only soya sauce. Other places usually have many more options.
Environment was nice since it's newly renovated. They have drawers built into the seats so you can put stuff inside.
Overall 4/5 - would come again if they have a discount. Probably not if no discount. read more
