I was surprised to find…read morethat it was semi-buffet (you choose an entree and then can go to the buffet for appetizers and dessert), so lunch was more expensive than I was expecting ($655 HKD for two people, including service). For starters, they had a fairly big selection of items - salad bar, cold cuts, fried chicken, and international fare like masala lotus root with potato, carrot and cashew and pork floss salted egg yolk sauce with purple sweet potato. Nothing was particularly good, but I was glad to at least get some veggies in the salad bar. We both selected the beef noodle soup for our entree. I was a disappointed by the lackluster broth and the beef was not as tender as I had hoped. There were a ton of desserts with international flavors - Russian honey cake, Egyptian Earl Grey tea cheesecake). Normally I would have been excited to eat as many desserts as possible, but while they looked pretty, they failed to dazzle. At least there was fresh fruit an orange juice available. I just saw that the semi-buffet option is no longer being offered at lunch, only for dinner. At least the Explorer's Club is a nice place to sit and escape the hustle and bustle of the park.

So much desserts to choose from. I really like the shrimps and conch. You get unlimited appetizers…read moreand desserts with the one choice of main entree for dinner, for 90 min

Came here three times in two weeks for a casual business lunch. Being on the top floor and a little more expensive than a greasy spoon, this place never became terribly crowded nor noisy, even during peak lunch hours. Decor is crafted textured light pine wooden bench seating in an open space with little distance between tables. Every table has a jug of water and two glasses. Lunch menu has several set meal options - all meat filled - as well as a la carte. The emphasis is on healthy dining with simple ingredients. The set meals - a panko style fried pork cutlet, halibut with greens, and something steak like - all range from about HKD84 to HKD88. Each set meal comes with a soup and after lunch beverage of coffee/tea/lemon water. You also have a choice of white or five-grain rice. The cutlet was nicely-breaded and fried and substantial enough for me for a lunch meal. The palm-sized halibut fillet, which seemed it had been a little over-frozen and kind of mushy, despite the nice subtle sauce - is not enough food for someone over the age of 4. The hefty bowls of rice make up for the lack of the main...or are SUPPOSED TO, however. Being that it's a set menu at HK$90 or less we couldn't really complain. If you order a la carte - and there is a good selection of meats and pastas - there are many other satisfying options. On one occasion, a diner at the table next to us had a Flintstone-size steak that would make you want to loosen the buttons on your pants and yell, WILLLLMMAAAAA! The steak came with a few obligatory vegetables, and the man - who was not much larger than the steak itself - wolfed it down within 10 minutes. Good place. Good grief.

Came here for afternoon tea with my mom, we chose the traditional tea set. I got the House blend…read moretea, a fruity mix of teas with a hint of earl grey, while my mom got the earl grey. Her tea was definitely better, while mine tasted a bit weak. I was kind of annoyed that we had to keep asking for additional hot water but oh well! The tea set came with three tiers. Four scones up top (two plain and two raisin) with butter, apricot and berry jam. The scones were warm and toasty. The second tier had a few savory baby tartlets and small sandwiches. The tartlets were pleasant but the sandwiches felt VERY bread heavy with not much filling. The bottom tier was my favorite and had a berry jelly, chocolate/coffee macaron, sponge cake, roll cake, a cheesecake and one more I can't remember. They were all not too sweet and had very varied flavors. The helicopter landing pad nearby made the dining experience pretty noisy, it was unpleasant :( The view, I suppose is the selling point..but the harbor is blocked by a building (totally not their fault) so the people watching is probably the best part of sitting on the deck. I don't think I would return here considering the quality of the afternoon tea being meh but it was a decent bougie experience!

I went to the Parlour for afternoon tea. We got the Hong Kong tea set and chose the Hullett House…read moreblend tea which was fragrant and enjoyable. The tea set came with a three tier selection of sweets and savories. There were plain and raisin scones with clotted cream, apricot and strawberry jams. There were a couple of tiny tomato quiches and mushroom tartlets, as well as celery salad, tomato, and smoked salmon sandwiches. There was a sponge cake with delicious lemon cream; creme caramel with a slightly burnt taste; a dense mini taro muffin; a light airy cherry cheesecake; sweet potato tartlet; and a fruit tartlet. The interior dining room was decorated in old chinoiserie style, and there were quite a few tables on the veranda looking out to the lovely outdoors. The former royal marine police headquarters is quite a photo extravaganza as we saw three wedding parties get their pictures taken at the site. If you get a chance to get to the Tsim Sha Tsui area and you'd like a nice treat, go to the Parlour.
