So clean, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing. Just think of it as an interactive queue that also doubles as the ride that takes you to Disneyland in Hong Kong. The trains and stations are easily accessible and signs also have English translations. If you will be traveling to and from I advise getting the day pass tickets for the train.

Hong Kong review #7 While it does make perfect sense, I found it interesting there is a specifically customized MTR train for the line out to HK Disneyland. Mickey Mouse shaped windows and grab rings for those standing, as well as other Disney specific details. But I guess that's part of the experience when you are going to Disneyland, right? http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/%E6%B8%AF%E9%90%B5%E8%BF%AA%E5%A3%AB%E5%B0%BC%E7%AB%99-%E9%A6%99%E6%B8%AF?select=gMsc8dLMEsecaeh9mmWSLw http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/%E6%B8%AF%E9%90%B5%E8%BF%AA%E5%A3%AB%E5%B0%BC%E7%AB%99-%E9%A6%99%E6%B8%AF?select=rhgTS0FgDQdBH3otxE540A http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/%E6%B8%AF%E9%90%B5%E8%BF%AA%E5%A3%AB%E5%B0%BC%E7%AB%99-%E9%A6%99%E6%B8%AF?select=VMa-MPchWpm1-k-Hu3TvXA I like how so VERY easy it is to go to HK Disney from anywhere in Hong Kong! Just take the MTR to the Sunny Bay Station, then take the Disneyland Resort train which goes.... you guessed it, only to and from HK Disney. Travel time is pretty quick too, just 6 minutes each way. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/%E6%B8%AF%E9%90%B5%E8%BF%AA%E5%A3%AB%E5%B0%BC%E7%AB%99-%E9%A6%99%E6%B8%AF?select=Vv0c0uUN0OkSxFNYG9PcdQ OVERALL: There are a number of ways to get to HK Disneyland, motorcycle, private car, taxi or bus. The best way however, is to take advantage of Hong Kong's excellent public transportation system and take the MTR!

It's a Hong Kong MTR train but Disney themed! C'mon, what is not to love about that. The Disney line can only be caught at the Sunny Bay MTR Station so find your way over to Sunny Bay and transfer over to the Disneyland Resort line to get on the train to HK Disneyland. The windows and hand rings are Mickey shaped. There is also random Disney memorabilia and figures throughout the train. The ride is several minutes long before you arrive at the Disneyland Resort Station so soak it all in. I definitely did!

We stayed in Hong Kong and found that the train station to Disney Hong Kong was the best way for us to visit the resort. The Disney train station has a Disney themed train, with Mickey shaped windows, rail guards and various Disney themed characters and saying throughout the train. The Disney Park is on the pink metro line, which is specific for Disney and the only stop on this line. You will have to take a transfer to get to the pink line since this train is Disney only. Very smooth and fast trip. The train can get a bit packed with tourists on the way to the happiest place on earth, so seating may be limited. Stand up options are available using the Mickey shaped hand rails which worked great for us. About a 20 minute ride to get to the Disney resort.

Honestly the cutest subway car I've ever seen! The inside is fully decked out in all things Disney from the windows and handlebars shaped like Mickey to various statues of Disney characters scattered throughout the train. The seats are very comfortable and and the ride was very smooth. All the times I've been here, there was plenty of space and seats for everyone. Definitely a memorable experience!

There are small character statues encased and displayed inside each of the MTR trains as well.

As far as cost goes, the price is reasonable, but they did try to sell the upgraded crystal (glass floor) car. I'm terrified of heights, so you couldn't even pay me to do that! The regular cable car was great though, I could look down or close my eyes if it was too much, panic attacks completely avoided. Even though the wait was long, it was worth it! The cable car ride goes over the water, then up the mountain giving beautiful views of the island. As it goes closer to the top, you can see the Big Buddha. Visiting the Big Buddha and the Po Lin monastery was one of the highlights of my trip.

We had purchased the tickets online which were cheaper than at the gate. The check it was smooth and quick. We were there with 10/15 minutes of opening and the line was very short. The cable takes a 90 degree at one point and that is incredible as well. One can see the entire HKG airport, the bridge road to Macao, the portion that goes under the sea is also seen. The view of the mountains is amazing and we also saw a few people hiking up. Once up lots of things to do. On our way back, the line up was even shorter and we were down in no time. On visit the two monasteries and of course the Buddha statue. Even though we are so up, we didn't find it cool. There are quite a few restaurants that you can visit or you can visit the monastery vegetarian canteen/restaurant that is very vegan friendly.

While the bus is cheaper and good for people who are afraid of heights, it takes much longer, about 50 to 60 minutes. The mountain roads are also very winding, which can make some people feel dizzy. My husband and I rode the Crystal Cabin to see the Big Buddha on our last trip. Since it was our daughters' first time in Hong Kong, we really wanted them to try it, too. They do have regular cabins without clear floors, but none of us are scared of heights, so we happily chose the glass-bottom one. We bought our tickets early on Klook. It was much cheaper than buying them at the gate. We also chose to visit on a weekday, which was a great choice because it was not crowded at all. I still remember our last visit ten years ago was super packed, and people had to wait in huge lines just to get on. The cable car ride takes about 25 minutes each way. We only bought a one-way ticket this time because we wanted to visit Tai O Fishing Village afterward. It was a fun, smooth, and beautiful 25-minute ride. We loved looking down at the green hills, seeing waterfalls, and watching the Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery come into view. Surprisingly, it was not hot at all, and it felt pretty cool up there on the mountain. It was truly amazing!

No where will you get a full view of the Hong Kong airport (unless you decide to climb up a mountain). This is my second time visiting and still very memorable and worthwhile. We got there around 10am on a Saturday and purchased tickets at the gate and didn't have a wait. Weekend tickets are more expensive, but we didn't have a choice with our schedule. I opted for the crystal glass cabin which I highly recommend for that full 360 degrees experience. The cabin has a clear glass bottom. The line for the crystal glass cabin is significantly shorter than the standard one too so avoiding the wait alone is worth it. Each one way ride is actually longer than I thought it would be so well worth the price. There's of course the giant Buddha to see at the top. There's also a few hiking trails. There are a lot of restaurant options at the top, but I suggest having lunch at their vegetarian cafe by the monastery- it's unique and delicious .

Whatever the case, it's great to finally have a dedicated station to HK's most recognized university. What's important to highlight is that it is modern and supremely clean. The walls are spotless, the bathrooms are cutting edge, and even the info booths look as if in fingerprint free windows. There aren't a lot of exits at the station, which makes it super easy to navigate and there are elevators aplenty. For being the biggest station, it doesn't feel windy or hilly like some others and is fully air conditioned during all hours. Even during the rush hour of the morning, the station never feels too busy. It could be due to the fewer folks on the west side of the island, but I've really never had to deal with crowds like some of the other popular stops along this line. Despite the lack of rush hour crowds, the attendants are still at this station directing people traffic like no other. In all, I look forward to stopping at HKU. It reflects the quiet nature of the neighborhood and will hopefully maintain that "new car smell" for the new few years.
