Everyone working at the terminals is friendly and helpful. The food courts and restaurants is a foodie paradise. It feels like you are dining at some of the best places with service to match. I hate layovers but this is one stop where I actually look forward to. I don't understand why the U.S. airports have not excelled in this area yet. Here are a few food places I recommend inside the airport: - located at Terminal 5, Level 1, we dined at Ryu Shabu Shabu upon landing. Luggages must be left outside the restaurant. Only in Asia can you feel comfortable doing this. We were famished since we didn't eat any of the airplane food. The meal set here was so satisfying. They slice large pieces of Wagyu in front of you. Dipping in that special raw egg with the bright red yolk was heaven. The broth is similar to a Sukiyaki. - Next door to Ryu, I got a hot Longan & Red Dates Nut Mylk. My son who is not into hot drinks took a sip and his eyes show how shockingly good it was. He couldn't stop raving about it. - Duddell's for its Michelin Starred dim sum. Their restaurant is located in Central but they have a spot here at departures hall. - I also highly recommend Yung Kee Restaurant at Terminal 1 (Gates 40-80) for some Roast Goose and Soy Chicken. Service was stellar. Tons of shops for those last minute duty-free gifts. I got a couple of cool magnets for my travel fridge collection. I swear, HK Airport has the nicest smelling restrooms. The sinks were so cool looking I almost took a pic. Lol. Don't forget to checkin to get your Yelp Hong Kong travel badge.

Definitely take the time to take notes because the U.S.A can definitely learn something from this amazing, convenient and efficient transportation system in Hong Kong! Prine Edward seems to be the transfer station for Kwun Tong Line but also the station to get off if you are interested in doing some market shopping! Flower Market, Bird Market, Meat Market and Ladies market is located on this line! Very convenient and a short walking distance from each other! Make sure to exit B. This area also has some great food joints located nearby. Its also walking distance from the Mong Kok station as well! My first time visiting Hong Kong and I was able to go everywhere I needed by using the MTR. Never did I have to use a Taxi because the trains come every 2-3 mins and it opens super early and closes super late! Trains here are very convenient and easy to navigate, please note that during rush hours it does get crowded and people are crazy! Whoo. They push, tug and shove you to make sure they can get into the train. The signs and maps are all in English as well as Cantonese so it's really easy to get around on your own. The MTR seems to go all over the Hong Kong Island. There does seem to be a lot of walking when changing line so be prepared to walk. They are NOT lying when they say that Hong Kong has a huge population! There are people everywhere at ALL times of the day and night. So be prepared for the crowds and you may miss a train or two because of it being over crowded. Don't worry, they come very frequently! OCTOTPUS CARD: This was the BEST thing Hong Kong could have ever thought about! Get an Octopus Card as soon as you arrive and you will good after that! What is an Octopus Card you may ask? It's a card that you can store money and use on buses, trains and in convenient stores such as 7-Eleven! This saves you so much time during the boarding time. You purchase one during your stay in Hong Kong and before you depart you turn it back in and get your refunds of your deposit back when you return the card. (Not a bad deal!) TIPS FOR FIRST TIME RIDERS: When going up the escalator, walk on the left and stand on the right. This will help risk people motioning for you to move out the way and the risk of the displeasure of everyone behind you! It was clean and had many exits/entrances. We had to look at all map to make sure we were at the correct exit! No where will you get a full view of the Hong Kong airport (unless you decide to climb up a mountain). This is my second time visiting and still very memorable and worthwhile. We got there around 10am on a Saturday and purchased tickets at the gate and didn't have a wait. Weekend tickets are more expensive, but we didn't have a choice with our schedule. I opted for the crystal glass cabin which I highly recommend for that full 360 degrees experience. The cabin has a clear glass bottom. The line for the crystal glass cabin is significantly shorter than the standard one too so avoiding the wait alone is worth it. Each one way ride is actually longer than I thought it would be so well worth the price. There's of course the giant Buddha to see at the top. There's also a few hiking trails. There are a lot of restaurant options at the top, but I suggest having lunch at their vegetarian cafe by the monastery- it's unique and delicious .
