We ordered two flavors of soups: Thai soup and tomato soup, which I usually ordered. What stood out most was the service. Everyone was welcoming from the moment we arrived, and our server was incredibly attentive throughout the meal and they were always quick to help with anything we needed. The food was solid and they have a lot of options to choose from, and all the ingredients tasted fresh and high quality. We ordered a large Wagyu beef and it was melt in my mouth tender . Their veggies were fresh and delicious Overall, we really enjoyed our hot pot dinner with excellent service and yummy food . I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in Hong Kong.

One of my chopsticks was dropped on the floor and before I had a chance to look down the floor, I already got a new one. They also offer rounds of hot towels and a wipe to wipe your glasses in case the steam gets in the way. Besides the impeccable service, the food was also very fresh. Half portion was recommended so we could get a variety of food. My aunty ordered a toad (??) for me to try. Super tasty like chicken. You can choose up to 4 broth ranges from water to super spicy. The restaurant gets very crowded and busy and they do not take reservations. For dinner, we arrived at 530pm and there was no wait. The restaurant environment is very lively. Serving robots moving around, face-change performers, dancing noodles, happy birthday song singing... My eyes were very busy! If you end up having to wait for a table, they serve you fruits and tea while you wait. I even saw a manicure station there! Some locations open 24 hours a day so give it a try when you are in town.

It was bustling and brimming with the sound of happiness and good food. It was an amazing experience. Now, apparently, they are no longer able to set up tables outside. What a buzzkill. It's definitely hurting this neighborhood hot spot. I talked to the owner for a good while about it, among other things. He's opening up another location, so I don't think the al fresco crack-down will have a long term impact. On my last visit, the meal started off with a mystery chip like appetizer. The owner brought out a basket of something he promised my co-worker and I would enjoy. Only after we agreed to eat it, did he agree to tell us what it was: fried fish skin. I love being surprised like this. I always go with the peanut satay soup base. It is the most amazing broth I have ever had in my mouth. Utterly to die for good. If you've never been to a hot pot restaurant, basically you pick your soup base and then a bunch of veggies and/or protein that you will cook in that soup right at your table. One thing I love about this part of the world: the vegetable selection. Damn, do the Chinese know how to eat.

Food is SELF-SERVED!!! - a lot of vegetables: spinach x2, some other green leafs x2, bok choy, corn, tomatoes, onions, pumpkin - lotus root! - mushroom options are: enoki, shaggy ink cap, oyster mushroom, shiitake I think?? - taro!!! - tofu - mini sausages with cheese inside - fried fishballs, cuttlefish balls, pork balls - chicken, fish $149 for AYCE hot-pot is a fantastic deal! Everyone gets their own pot, each pot with two soups of your choice. And the food is great quality also. Good beef, good pork, ok chicken and ok fish, and super good mushrooms! Fried fishballs, cuttlefish balls, and pork balls were all very very good. If you run out of soups, you simply take the jug from the centre and bring it back to your table. Everything is self-served! Definitely in love with this restaurant. SO BUSY THOUGH. Expect to wait 1 hour for walk-ins. But if you come at 5pm, it's quite empty!

What the FK is wrong with this restaurant!?! I have worked in Japan and people are always taking care the elderly never rude like this. I whole heartly wish the guys there do not have elderly people in their family to be treated like this. Halloween is fast approaching, so this seems like an appropriate time to review this restaurant…read more Wait but why? This is just some hot pot place. Nah. Da Hong Pao Hot Pot in TST has literally the scariest bathrooms I've ever been in. No, it's not that it was dirty, but those bathrooms can pass for a haunted attraction at Ocean Park. If I wasn't drunk, I'd be terrified. Anyways, more on that later. Da Hong Pao Hot Pot is one successful hot pot place. The TST branch is only one of its locations and I'm hoping more open up. When your method of cooking is literally dunking raw food in boiling water, you better be using the freshest ingredients. Da Hong Pao delivers and exceeds! Knowing this, they also serve sashimi along with hot pot. As a girl from landlocked Toronto, I'm already amazed by the variety and quality of seafood. I've rarely had geoduck and it has definitely never tasted as sweet as it did here. The razor clams were so fresh and chewy, the fish balls were incredibly bouncy. On top of that, ingredients I am familiar with were just as great, like the beef and salmon. Now I haven't been to many hot pot places in HK, but I'm also gonna go out on a limb and say some items here are quite unique. Foie gras stuffed squid balls and black truffle wontons anyone? They've got all your expected condiments and soup bases like mala spicy, satay, cilantro & thousand year egg, etc. But they've also got their specialty: "金屋藏嬌: The Beauty Hidden in the Golden House". It's basically a whole chicken sitting in a winter melon, which acts as both a dish and a subsequent soup base after you eat the chicken. Very nourishing and something I definitely haven't seen before. Service is spectacular. Food and drink came promptly and there were easily 4-5 people serving us that night, despite the full house on a Thursday. The blonde man in charge was so fun, he felt like one of our own. At the end of night, he even helped us take photos and an Ellen DeGeneres style selfie. Oh yeah, the bathrooms. Walk past the tables, the bar, the kitchen and down the isolated hallway. Open the door and you're greeted with a black-painted room, lit only with dim red lights. You can barely see your own face, but you can make out the outline of a hundred of your faces within the back-to-back mirrors. You can now do your business while you wonder if one of your reflections might turn around slowly to stare at you with demon eyes. (76/100) - 2017

I also had to make a reservation one week ahead of time for a table of four. We had the chicken and water melon soup base. Chicken was half so don't worry you can save room for beef and other stuff. Price was reasonable too. Tip: Make reservation!
