After living here for a week I only spotted it the other day. Needless to say I made it my duty to give it a try. I ask that you take this review with a pinch of salt. The day before visiting Nitaya's Kitchen I arrived back in Hong Kong from Phuket, Thailand. From the outside the place doesn't look like much. A small table holds a couple menus and a cheap looking banner shows images of their menu. All that being said I was pleasantly surprised with my experience here. During lunch they have close to ten different lunch sets, meat and rice mainly, and none above $50 - my kind of place! Each meal comes with a drink, and as was my usual I ordered the Ice-lemon tea. To eat I went for a green curry while my lovely girlfriend chose the Pad Thai. The drinks arrived first, not at all what I was expecting. Perhaps it was my accent, or my poor cantonese but I was given something that looked and tasted like a combination between iced milk and lemon tea. Not great. But then the food arrived. The green curry was full of flavor, spicy and filling yet it was the pad thai that truly impressed, and like I said I just got back from Phuket! I tried, in vain, to convince my girlfriend that she really wanted the curry and really wanted to give me the pad thai. Luckily for me she said we could go 50/50. It's not that the green curry was bad, not at all, it's just that the pad thai was that good! It came with a generous helping of shrimps, which in most cheaper lunch sets restaurants usually tend to be stingy with, and the portion size was on the bigger side. I Sprinkled some peanut shavings and the pad thai was complete. I'm sure I'll be back at Nitaya's Thai Kitchen, and not only because of the prices!

Yelp was not in Hong Kong and I had to, oh the horror, just go with my gut. Back then, I'd walk around and judge a restaurant by the number of patrons happily dining inside. God, those were truly the dark ages. Now I can just waist hours away comparing the plethora of choices at my finger tips, and debating the finer points of reviews written by strangers who probably have bad taste and way too much time on their hands. (Just kidding, there's always curry review time). That reminds me, the red curry was like a little piece of perfectly spiced, creamy heaven.

It was one sunny morning and a couple of friends and I decided to go cycling around Tai Po and after of sweats under the burning sun, we reached our destination and decided to go have some food as a reward for a hardworking morning. There were not that many options there but we saw one place called Thai Thai Kitchen and it has got all those pictures with celebrities going there, we thought it should be of decent quality. So we went there. It was rather quiet there and not many diners nor travelers so we easily became the loudest group there. There was quite an array of food to choose from. More or less food that were somewhat spicy so I expected the worst (my friends loved this but certainly not me) to make it worse, my friends ordered Tom Yum (seriously who ordered that knowing I could not handle that at all?) So for those who had not tried that before, Tom yum is a spicy and sour soup in Thai style. The main ingredients for the broth include lemongrass, lime leaves, lime juice, fish sauce, and lots and lots and lots and lots of chili peppers. We also ordered quite a few more but to me, that tom yum was the best (surprised? Yes, me too!) I was rather reluctant to try at first as I remember last time I tried I could not speak for a while as it completely burnt my throat. However, due to peer pressure, I had a spoonful and to my surprise, I liked it. Of course it was spicy but it was not overly spiced and I could also taste the fresh ingredient there. All in all, I would come here again for some authentic thai food if I for some reason, agree to go cycling again.

The Thai food here is very authentic, came here twice within a week and still have lots to try! Highlight items: Drunken Noodles, Appetizer Sampler Plate, their Green Papaya Salad... Biggest selling point of the restaurant is the view towards the beach, if you can catch the sunset you may even think you are in Thailand! Service is friendly and efficient! With a name such as Full House, got me curious, later found out that they serve traditional Chinese dishes and also Dim Sum for lunch, since we are not too hungry we thought we would stick with Dim Sum. To my pleasant surprise, their quality is very good! I especially like their Sui Mai ( Shrimp & Pork Dumplings ). Another dish worth mentioning is their Chilled Okra with Sesame Dressing, very refreshing indeed. Their green chicken curry had a good amount of spice to it, and even though I thought the rice (sold separately) was on the small side it was actually sufficient enough. Service was okay but could've been more attentive - I would've appreciated more refills of my water. The space has a perpetual al fresco vibe so if you're looking for air con don't come here. You will definitely sweat it out if it's a humid day and you choose to eat the curry! :-P I'd recommend this spot if you're looking for drinks; they seem decently priced and since it's right off the escalator it's the perfect place for people watching. There are a lot of restaurants nearby too so the environment can get very lively on weekends.

With the youngest Executive Chef at a 5-Star Hotel and the fastest Chinese restaurant to obtain 1-Michelin Star in Hong Kong, Man Ho has become one of the hardest local restaurants to make bookings. Sauce is often the soul of French cuisine; surprisingly, it is also the case for the Chinese food served at Man Ho. You do not have to dip your dim sum with sauce because the sauce is within the wraps. While my friend is not a vegetarian, she falls in love with the steamed porcini mushroom dumplings that have the delicate flavor of Chinese soy sauce. Deep-fried spring rolls with minced Wagyu beef, onion and black pepper is the highlight of the meal. My friend and I are so impressed by the exterior crunchiness of the spring roll, the interior butteriness of the beef and the highlight of the Wasabi sauce within the roll. Nonetheless, we are disappointed by the barbecued duroc pork loin with honey sauce. Ideally in HK, char siu is smoked at a lychee wood oven. However, the char siu at Man Ho is cooked at an electronic oven, leading to the lack of crispy exterior.
