One thing that I'd like to improve is the portion as I didn't get enough of it! My friend got lobster pasta - there's an option to choose between having the lobster shelled or de-shelled. We recommended have the shell on because the flavor will be more intense. But it's a bit troublesome to get the shell off. My other friend had steak and it was ok I heard. The other high light of our meal is the scallop dumpling. Every dumpling has a scallop in it and it is all hand wrapped. We also like the sesame sauce tofu salad - silky tofu with crunchy romaine lettuce. Very refreshing!

There are some highlights: wings are delicious!! Smokey and crispy. The ribs with sea salt is soooooo goood. Hawaiian-inspired sauce with chicken was served with a coleslaw, guacamole, sour cream and flour tortillas. The generous portion didn't stop a guest from hoarding the entire plate and devoured it all. The guacamole needs more seasoning as our was bland - more cilantro, small diced red onion topped with sprinkled sea salt would be my suggested additions. The roasted line caught sea bass is very boney and served in a lemongrassy broth that was so light on the verge of flavorless. Service is good and attentive. The eggs were runny and so seasoned, the bun was soft and crispy but not like crumbs everywhere. Also got the sumiyaki coffee which was recommended and it's super bitter. Food wise, they serve your favourite HK cafe classics for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. The restaurant also has a take out area where you can purchase their baked items as well. The place is popular and can get busy at times where you do need to share tables with other strangers (which is a super normal thing in HK). My party of 3 and I stopped by Lucky Star on a Sunday morning around 8am. The place was surprisingly busy but we were able to grab a table right away. You order via QR code and pay at the cashier afterwards once you are finished. The walls had really nice photographs of HK (from IGers I actually follow on Instagram!). All of us opted to get breakfast sets which include a noodle dish, pastry, and drink (as well as scrambled eggs and toast). Food came quickly and I enjoyed my pickled veggie and pork instant noodles as well as the pineapple bun which was hot and fresh. The milk tea tasted great and had a strong tea flavour. Overall, great place for HK style breakfast in the Causeway Bay area! I can see why this place is popular!

The best part of this restaurant is the atmosphere. The outdoor seating is romantically lit and nestled against lush greenery. We ordered some retry standard dishes: green beans, xiao long bao, stir fried chicken, and a side of jasmine rice. Overall the food was good, not great. The stir fried chicken was half garlic cloves and took a lot of effort to fish out the chicken pieces. The place needs some serious help in the service department. It took us 5 minutes after having been seated to have water served. I was super thirsty after hiking up the hills to the restaurant . After our waters had gone empty they were not refilled. It appears that the water and condiments are self service which is fine but they charge a mandatory 10% service charge. For what? You can get better service for free in a hawker market.

Teawood has decent Taiwanese food at a decent price. I really have no complaint about this place other than having to wait in line during prime dining hours. They have all your typical Taiwanese dishes, such as beef noodles, 3 cup chicken, etc. Dinner sets are also available. For the dinner sets you basically add $30 and get a drink plus a salad or slice of cake to your entree, which also includes a bowl of rice. Pretty decent value for what you get. Like most Teawoods around, this one is pretty spacious inside. Might be a long queue, but if you're a small party, the wait usually isn't too long. I recommend trying their bubble milk tea! At the end of the meal, bring your receipt and pay at the counter.

But when a person of Chinese/Taiwanese descent who loves to eat is roaming around HK? Everything looks amazing. My travel partner and I decided to try this place because... well? it was busy. SUPER BUSY. At least 15-20 people waiting outside while other restaurants sat mostly empty. Plus, I couldn't really go by my usual rating system for an Asian restaurant (e.g., the ratio of Asian to non-Asian folks eating inside) since pretty much EVERYONE was Asian. I ordered the beef noodle soup because it's a familiar staple. The noodles were clearly not from a box and tasted pretty fresh, with a bit of a bite/chew to them. The beef was tender, and the broth was flavorful. I wish it had more veggies though! I also ordered a royal milk boba tea because I wanted one, ok? It was fresh, delicately flavored, and the boba had great consistency. I also loved that I didn't have to order it half sweet like I prefer in the USA. I wish the system to ask for a table was a bit more user friendly for folks who do not speak/read Chinese. There is a computer/touch screen outside where you are supposed to enter in the number of people in your party. I had to ask for help and the waitress pushed some buttons and handed me a slip of paper. From the little I do read, I was able to deduce that you are assigned to a letter (A, B, C, D) which indicates the table top size you requested (1-2 ppl, 3-4 ppl, etc) and you have to watch the screen for your letter number combo on your slip of paper to be called. If I were in HK again, and shopping in Langham, I would not hesitate to eat here again!!
