The meals provided during the 14-hour flight were fresh, hot and the serving sizes were very reasonable. I also appreciated the options during each meal presentation. Oooh and the snacks and alcohol beverage selections were great! One challenge that did present myself was the full flight and the lack of comfort for rest. Guests were given a thin/light blanket and pillow but there wasn't much room for seats to be tilted or leg room; I wasn't able to sleep well. I wasn't extremely satisfied with the entertainment with the few options for movie and television show selections. But I was grateful and watched Goodfellas TWICE haha . Top notch service was given by the flight attendants; very kind, patient, helpful and very respectful. Overall the aircraft was clean, reasonable temperature.

They were very kind, and walked around often. Very good service. Now the bad. I few on Philippine Airlines to go to Hong Kong, and had a lay over in the Philippines. The plane took off over an hour late, and had to land somewhere else to refuel. We were stuck there for over another hour or so. My flight came into the Philippines over 3 hours from when it was suppose to arrive. That made me almost miss my connection flight to Hong Kong. On the way back, the plane took off over an hour from when it was suppose to. If you need to be on time, do NOT take this airline. The plane there was a much older plane and not as comfortable. The plane back was somewhat newer but still older then the more recent planes that I have been on. Again, the service of the cabin crew was amazing. BUT, if you need to be on time getting somewhere, do NOT use this airline. First time flying on Philippine Airline, and will be my last. The tickets may be cheap but they are cheap for a reason.

My wife had booked the tickets and it wasn't until we got to the airport that I bothered to inquire as to the airline's name. But we had a good experience and so I was happy to fly Xiamen again, a couple of weeks ago, from Haikou to Hangzhou. Despite being the most inexpensive flight we could find on the Haikou-Hangzhou route, it didn't feel like we were on a discount airline: The plane looked fairly new. A pretty good complimentary meal was served by domestic flight standards. All communications included English - despite the fact that I appeared to be the only "foreigner" on the flight. The Stewardesses were attractive (although their uniforms could have been more revealing). The landing in Hangzhou was smooth. And Xiamen flights add to our Delta Sky Miles accounts. From what I can see, Xiamen is as good as any airline. As long as their prices remain competitive, I will keep flying them.

This airline is one of the 3 Singapore based Low Cost Carriers. The other two are Tigerair and Scoot. Competition are aggressive among these carriers, no wonder some of the premium carriers are pissed off with their presence. This airline offers a standard product, a 180-seater all Economy seats on its Airbus A320. It's fitted with leather seats without any entertainment installed on the aircraft, I find the seats to be comfortable but the legroom space is very tight for a 6 foot 4 guy like myself. Cabin service was average, with a crew strangely told me to move back to my original seat even through the last few rows were vacant. Inflight meal is average and it's quite expensive so usually on flights more than 3 hours, I fly on premium carriers. That's my rule of flying. The customer service of this airline can be furthered improved to ensure the passengers are well taken care of even for a Low Cost Carrier. Good service and service recovery are important to win the hearts of the passengers. Overall, this is a decent airline, not the best but certainly not the worst - hence my 3 star rating for this airline.

The plane…read moretickets were much cheaper than big airlines like Cathay, at just over $1400, but if you want to check in luggage or have a meal on board, you'll have to pay extra. I added about $100 per-way to be able to have 15kg of check in luggage allowance. With the HKIA, most, if not all, budget airlines' check-in counters are over at terminal two. So if you're travelling with Jetstar, this means going to terminal two, checking in, and then having to go back to terminal one again. That morning, I didn't know I was supposed to check in at terminal two until I got to the airport so I had to go from terminal one, to two, then back again. I was lucky I had arrived earlier! As for the flight itself, the plane is tiny, but that doesn't matter - it's not something that would affect your flight experience. Seats and aisles are a little tight, but not unbearable. There is no in-flight entertainment - aka TV - to speak of, so make sure you have something loaded on your phone/tablet/laptop to read or watch. Meals are insanely expensive on board. I remember that a nasi lemak (fried rice) was SGD11, which is around HKD66! Instant noodles - just Nissan - was SGD5, so about $30 in HK currency. My friend happened to have a load of cup noodles with her to bring back for relatives in Singapore and she gave us one each, thinking that we can just an attendant to help us add hot water, but we were told that just that - giving us hot water - will cost us SGD5 each! It was ridiculous. Eventually we managed to ask another nicer flight attendant who agreed to help us, but told us 'only this time' as they're normally allowed to do this. Despite the cup noodle debacle, I would take Jetstar again. It's quite a bit cheaper than taking regular airlines, it's not uncomfortable, and it gets me where I need to be. Food is an issue though - I'll be sure to prepare something (that doesn't require hot water) before I board next time!

The seat pitch was a bit tighter by 1-2 inches compared to the outbound flight from Chicago and I learned the degree of comfort actually depends on the version of the 777-300ER you get! Upon some subsequent research, there are 4 versions of the 777-300ER and only 1 version has the 33" pitch vs 31-32" for the other 3! Otherwise, food and service and entertainment were again quite fine except for one meal (a Korean-style BBQ beef with rice which was mediocre). Flying Eva will likely also mean a layover in Taipei and their international terminal is state-of-the-art, classy, and comfortable, and so that is another plus. Overall, I'll say 4.5 stars, a great airline, and I would enthusiastically fly with them again.

You see, I was trying to fly a cat home from Hong Kong to San Francisco; from booking the flights to the airport experience, they really made it easy and even enjoyable because they were so helpful. EVA is really a true 5-Star airline!

I flew this airline 4 times and my recent experience was from Hong Kong to Osaka Kansai. The good thing about flying with this airline to Osaka is this airline has its own dedicated terminal 2 in Kansai, so that means lesser chance of long queues at the immigration counters compared to other terminals. You will be impressed with the Japanese service and do try the inflight meal, either the bento set or the beef rice, they are very good. Seat configuration is the standard 180-seater on the Airbus A320 but it's comfortable. At that time, this airline was suffering a shortage of pilots. A good number of them were either on leave or quit the company. The airline has issued advance warnings to us about flight delays and cancellations and they have posted this almost everywhere online and emails to notify the affected passengers. So if you miss it, then it's your fault. Fortunately, this incident lasted for a short while and it was back to normal not long after. At that time, I booked 2 sectors with this airline, only my Sapporo to Osaka flight was affected but I could change it without paying a fee. Good recovery service from the airline, they notified me in advance and I appreciate that. Because of the incident, my Hong Kong to Osaka was delayed. Apologises were made even though I wasn't too happy but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise, why? I manage to photograph the beautiful sunset view during the flight and I can't ask for more!! So sometimes there is a silver lining to a flight delay, stay calm and make use of what you have. Overall, needless to say, fly with this airline! The best Low Cost Carrier in my book.

Went to the airport way early for flight from HK to Osaka and could not find the checkin place for…read morepeach airlines. The monitors say it's in Section D (next to ANA...not sure if it's always the case) but no peach staff had showed up for work yet. Aside from a peach luggage measurement thing, it was not marked. I confirmed with a nearby airlines' agent that it was them. My flight was at 3:50pm, staff showed up at 1:15pm and began checkin service. They began by tapeing up the peach logo to the station. Lots of mainland chinese and hong kongese as well as Koreans go from Hong Kong to Osaka apparently; checkin agents are Hong Kongese. The flight attendants are Japanese but speak english and announcements are also prerecorded in Cantonese during the flight. The flight experience was not bad at all. Althought you do have to pay out of pocket if you want anything. Very good service and very clean for a low cost airline. Will fly again.

Competition in South Korean aviation is intense that's why standard with these airlines are often high. Operating with a fleet of Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 777-200ER (Extended Range), these aircraft were transferred from its parent airline, that's why the interior is similar to it, only the head cover is different. I got to fly on this airline twice from Gimpo to Jeju and return on both 737-800 and 777-200ER and here is my observation. The Boeing 737-800 type dominates the fleet and it flies on Hong Kong to Seoul Incheon sector. I wanted to book with this airline but the airfare is quite expensive. The seat pitch is the standard for LCCs, a tight 30' inch so don't expect much. You can pay for entertainment by renting a mini tablet and in-flight meals, there is a menu on this on the seat pouch. Service - you can expect a set of professional and friendly crew taking care of you. As for the airline's Boeing 777. It flies on longer routes and also on Gimpo to Jeju route, but not to Hong Kong. What is unique about this aircraft is it has both 2-5-2 (first and second section) and 3-4-3 (last section) seating configuration. So if you get to fly this aircraft, I recommend the 2-5-2 if you are flying solo or with a partner. Overall, my experience with this carrier is an excellent one and I highly recommend this airline for its efficiency and excellent safety record.

I remember when I was young I vowed not to fly on this airline but I did it last year not to India…read more Thanks to 5th freedom routes, I flew this airline from Osaka to Hong Kong at a very low fare for the one-way ticket. It was certainly worth the money! Currently this airline flies the 787 Dreamliner to Hong Kong and since it has 5th freedom rights, it flies on to Seoul and Osaka on different days. If you are heading to either on of these destinations, you can consider flying on this carrier. The 787 cabin is actually very nice, good in-flight meal and IFE (In-flight Entertainment system) but the in-flight service, don't expect much. The crew are Indian based and on my flight, the service was mediocre. Worrying about safety issue? You have every right to be but I can assured you that the airline is working with Boeing to ensure the safety of the crew and passengers on board. So don't worry too much about it. On my flight, most of the passengers are HK based, I guess they are price conscious travellers as this airline offers cheaper airfare than Hong Kong Airlines and Cathay Pacific. Overall, this star alliance member is not a bad choice to fly with, I particularly like the warm and cozy interior of the 787 cabin.
