In my mind that gives you some immediate credibility! We decided we needed to stop in here to grab a snack before jumping back on the bus. Three of us split a Sunday at which consisted of a freshly made multi waffle, some delicious vanilla ice cream on top the strawberries and chocolate. Our little dudes and a vanilla cone and a vanilla/strawberry ice cream sandwich, again with fresh made waffle, respectively. The place is located on the second floor, I think, out at the end of the level. It's actually an easy place to miss, but when you find it you won't forget readers. We have tons of different options including everything from single scoops come all the way up to very elaborate creations. Ours, as previously stated, range from ordinary to Mid range and ultimately were very good. Things took a bit of time to make as they physically produce the waffles when you request them, but overall it didn't take that long. The prices were a little bit on the high side, but again you're paying for something that's made when you order and is different then you're going to get a run-of-the-mill ice cream shop. For our money, it doesn't get better then the combination of breakfast food and ice cream!

Also, they've solved the problem of soggy waffles from melting ice cream by coating the top of the waffle with candied caramel. The melted ice cream never penetrates this layer of candied caramel so the waffle never gets soggy. The choco banana liege is good, but the apple cinnamon sundae is sublime. Service (**** out of *****); Very good service. Not quite Japanese service, but still good. They answered all my questions and let me take lots of pics. Atmosphere (***** out of *****); Great ocean bay view from their umbrella covered outdoor seating. They have a few indoor seats, too. Conclusion (***** out of *****); Definitely the best waffles in Hong Kong and if they were fluffier, the waffles here at Waffleman would be the best waffles in the world! Anyways, the tally is 4.6 stars but I've bumped them up to 5 stars for value. If you can live without fruit on your waffles, their basic waffle is only 22 HKD and their waffles with fruit flavored caramel and cream is only 25 HKD. With fresh fruit, it is 42 HKD and with fresh fruit & ice cream, it is 52 HKD. It is definitely worth the trip here to try the waffles with a view. Considering that all other restaurants in the Stanley Bay / Stanley Market area serve garbage fake American food (tiny hamburgers and soggy pizzas) for 140 to 200 HKD, this place is a bargain.

I know, I'm an American, and we like big portions. I also love ice cream and I was hoping it would help cool me down. I ate all of the ice cream and the 2 green tea pocket sticks but I couldn't finish all of the eggettes. I should have shared that with my friends, but unfortunately I ended up tossing it because it was too much for me to handle on my own. A little disappointing for me after working so hard. I would give it a higher rating if there was a decent scoop, but it was barely two bites!

I wouldn't go back, in fact the only reason I would ever go there is to complain to management but I figured they would just pretend to not understand me and not offer any solution. I ordered some chocolate waffle with chocolate ice cream priced at 68, which is pretty expensive to begin with but since it's a tourist place i figured that's the game here... told them to switch out the chocolate ice cream for cookies and cream and they made a huge fuss on how it couldn't be done-- mind you this is a simple ice cream shop where they make the waffles "fresh" and scoop some ice cream on top, finally after saying no that I didn't want it with chocolate ice cream he said ok but there would v an up charge, i figured cookies and cream was a more expensive ice cream so I said ok. However I didn't notice until after paying that they had an expensive section all the way to the end and cookies and cream wasn't there- meaning they probably charged me just cause I'm a tourist... finally i get my ice cream but on a vanilla cone after asking for the chocolate one, i kept telling them no that i didn't ask for that and they pretended not to understand me so once i started to walk away then they spoke up and said that the chocolate one i had ordered was sold out, i told them that why hadn't they said that since the beginning, the whole point of me ordering the chocolate option was for the chocolate egg waffle and again they pretended to not understand me. So at this point i figured whatever let me just get my cone and see what the whole egg waffle fuss is about. Once I bit in i noticed they had given me a stale cone that was cold, hard as a rock and old! I was so frustrated and upset, i tried to eat it but just ate the ice cream and threw the rest away. When I checked my card, they had charged me about 90! An extra 30, meaning like over 2-3 dollars to change the ice cream flavor. Total scam, the guy never even gave me a receipt so I'm guess he did that so i couldn't see the "upcharge" was just a tip. Overall mediocre over priced ice cream, terrible waffles that are old and hard and bad service. They didn't offer spoon or napkin- nothing, and when I asked for it he rolled his eyes as of it were too much to ask for. Just in all a terrible experience, no customer service at all and they all looked like they didn't want to do any work, just terrible attitude. Wouldn't recommend, there's another ice cream shop that makes the egg waffles inside, I'd say try that one first and if you do go here then make sure you ask for your receipt!

The level of awesomeness was definitely off the charts and Lab Made is super instagrammable! During my short visit in HK, i still managed to drop by Lab Made twice (Repulse Bay Shop and Tseung Kwan O Shop). The flavours changes biweekly and they often have an Asian twist (black sesame, purple rice, Yakult, tofu,...). I tried the black sesame (44 hk dollar / 5.2 €) and the peach yogurt (39 hk dollar / 4.75 €) flavour. The black sesame was surprisingly good; the crushed peanuts and the black sesame sauce excited my taste buds. According to their FB page the black sesame flavour should taste like the traditional black sesame rice dumpling. As an OBC (= Overseas Born Chinese) i have no clue how that even looks like. The peach yogurt is of course a healthier treat and preferably.
