This was under a special promotion so the dinner price was buy one and get one free ! The food and the display looked amazing. We loved the slow cooking soup in a dainty clay pot . It was super hot and the lady staff took it out one of a time to give to us one a plate . The soup had chicken , fish mew , dried scallops, dried conch all simmer for a long time to made into a soup with rich aroma . I drank three mini pots of soup . Other two soups were chicken feet with pork , chicken and peanut , creamy seafood soup . Both tasted great ! There were all you can eat seafood , snow crab legs were tender and juicy ( served cold ) . Baked oyster and fresh oysters opened by the chef right in front of you , Oysters and sashimi had good quality . The Sushi and sashimi station was nicely display. Raw fishes had good quality . There were rolls too but most people would save the appetizer for other things. The cooked lobsters were cut into a half . It was a disappointment. I only ate one and didn't want any more . It was kind of dried and no flavor. The lobster claws were cooked , shells cracked for easy to eat and warmed up in a gravy . Claws were tasty so I suspected the lobsters lost more of its juice during cooking time and method . What a pity ! We switch to try other things in the buffet . There were too many good options. I loved the Indian curry , basmati rice and giant shrimp chip . There were hot fried rice with crab meats in clay pot , giant and tender steamed fish with green onions was delicious. Peking duck skin & wraps were tasty and delicious . Desserts were good especially the mandarin & chocolate mousse. It was round and red on the outside . Great presentation and the mousse was delicious ! There were many other kinds of dessert like tofu tong sui ( sweet soup ) , fruit jello in cubes , many different kinds of ice cream , etc Free draft beer by the dessert station , hot coffee , juice , soda and many other drinks. The original price was $798 HK per person for dinner on Friday to Sunday night , weekday lunch was $428 HK and the promotion was buy one get one free ! One dollar in US is equal to $7.8 HK dollar . What a deal and the food and service were both top notch. What a wonderful experiences ! At the end of the dinner the chef brought out a giant chocolate egg with many bowls of colorful decorations. The children gathered around to put the cute decorations on before the chef broke it apart ! Parents were video taping them. There were also pasta and salad , many other cooked food. It's not cheap though and the retail cost is $38 USD per person.   We ended up paying $20 USD per person per day as part of our hotel rate package, and like airline fares the hotel rates change depending on when you book, but that was about the cheapest I ever saw before booking.  The hotel receptionist mentioned that if you want to sign up for breakfast upon registration (we only checked as we were interested in inviting an outside guest for one breakfast outing), you can get the discounted $20 USD per person rate but you have to sign up for every day of your stay. Anyway, as usual, photos speak a thousand words, and you can see for yourself on the variety of offerings.  I very much enjoyed every morning here to start the day.  Just some of the items included 3 dim sum varieties each day, made to order noodle soups, made to order egg dishes (the omelettes were amazingly fluffy and fresh), a huge variety of pastries and breads, congee with a lot of exotic condiments, freshly made fruit drinks, various juices, fruits, and salads, various chicken and sausage servings, delicious milk teas, coffee options, etc.  I really liked the delicious milk tea and opted for that instead of coffee every morning.  I also really liked a glass of freshly made celery/green apple juice every morning as well and also their self-serve lime juice.  Actually, I liked everything I tried lol, still did not get to it all as I only have one stomach, and I had a leisurely variety of small plates every morning. The breakfast restaurant manager was Vinod, a very friendly, engaging, and gregarious Indian man and he has been the manager here for 5 years.  We chatted often, got to know each other a bit, and he personally made me a milk tea whenever he could, so good they were!  The staff was 5 star efficient, eagle-eyed, and kept the tables cleared.   I could tell Vinod was a real world-class food industry pro.  Overall, The Place is the best, was well worth what we paid, and I will miss it!

Once you are in the dining area, you are attracted to the vast openness of the view the harbour, since its a lovely sunny day you can see clearly the Hong Kong Island side. Our hostess showed us our table, and with my request, they kindly accommodated us with a table with a view! I really like the layout of the buffet, it is set out as individual cooking stations, with Chefs in each one, hence the food is more or less cooked right in front of you, each item is freshly made and presented well.
