On this latest visit, it was Halloween themed and I have to give credit to the Pastry Department ... they are so creative in making the desserts both " scary " in a good way and of course tasty! Seafood, Sushi, Chinese, Indian, Halal, Carvery, Desserts and much much more is displayed in a user friendly way, its all spread out in different section where there is never too much of a line-up even when its super busy! Service is friendly and efficient, staffs also dressed up for the occasion and this year their theme is Harry Potter! Free valet parking when your bill is over HK$600.00

They kicked off the holiday buffet early this year (in November), and the vibes are really cool, lots of neon lights and beautiful Christmas decor right at the entrance. The food quality is unbelievable. We actually had a hard time deciding what to grab first! * Seafood: The selection is luxurious. They have an expensive cold seafood tower, fresh lobster, sashimi, sea cucumbers, shrimp, and fish. * Meat Station: The variety is unimaginable. They have everything from Spanish hams and roasted beef to Japanese BBQ meats and Tandoori chicken. * Noodles: Don't skip the noodle station; the Hong Kong noodles and Singapore Laksa were great. The dessert station is so expansive I can't even remember all the selections, but I stuck to the Chinese desserts and loved the egg tarts and the grass jelly with red bean. Service was super attentive the whole night. Pro-tip: We bought our buffet tickets on the KKday app and got a 15% discount. Definitely check there before you book!

During our stay in March 2024, we enjoyed a 3-day breakfast package before heading out on our side trip, so we had breakfast here for three consecutive mornings. The variety kept the experience fresh and enjoyable. I would rate The Place a solid 4 out of 5 for cleanliness, especially considering the coffee cups and spoons that had room for improvement. The restaurant has a pleasant vibe and is bustling with activity every morning. There's an impressive range of breakfast options, with something for everyone. Some of my personal favorites included congee with green onions and peanuts, egg benedicts with lox, and a build-your-own rice noodle bowl with meatballs and fish balls. However, there were some inconsistencies with the egg station. The egg benedicts on the first day were perfect, but the next day, my order was missing the salmon until I pointed it out to the cook. On the third day, the cook used a torch to brown the eggs, but unfortunately, they were overcooked, which was a bit strange. Despite these minor issues, the variety and overall quality of the food were commendable. What truly stood out during our breakfasts was the exceptional service from Vinod, the restaurant's manager. His very friendly demeanor and great sense of humor really elevated the experience. On the second day, Vinod took the time to come over and chat with us, and by the third day, he remembered our names and engaged with us again. He even offered us pastries to take away, a gesture we truly appreciated. Although we declined, the offer was kind and thoughtful. If you're in a rush, I would recommend grabbing some of their delicious pastries to-go--they're a great option for a quick snack. For Cordis hotel guests who don't have a breakfast package, there's a 15% discount on dining, including at The Place. The buffet is priced at HK$300 (about US$38.70) before any discounts. While the price might be on the higher end, I'd definitely recommend dining here at least once. It's a solid buffet with a wide variety of quality dishes to start your day right.
