There are other reviews that talk about the fusion cuisine, but I went straight for comfort food and it didn't disappoint. Con: The staff is pretty hard to get a hold of, but this could be blamed on the layout of the restaurant.

If you have no idea what fusion cuisin is, I would suggest you to come to this place; it is not…read morestrictly speaking a restaurant known for such, but somehow, the dishes here have a very strong sense of "fusion". Fusing Japanese cuisine with western style cooking. Favored by many locals, this place is always packed with people, not to mention the lines at the entrance, it might be a 10-15 minute wait at least before you can be seated. It is honestly quite a decent place to eat in no matter what time of the day; for brunch there are eggs and bacon, for afternoon tea, the toasts and desserts are quite appetizing, whereas for dinner, the pizzas and pastas most certainly could be your full blown meal. The reason why I would describe this place as fusion mainly is because of the way this restaurant takes classic western dishes. Pasta cabonara, both a classic and a standard dish in every western diner, Suzuki has it but topped with a soft boiled egg, not just any, but a japanese onsen tamago. The still liquid yolk meld into the sauce to give extra richess and flavor to the sauce; or a pizza topped with shrips and wasabi dressing which revolutionize your impression on ordinary pizzas. As a cafe, the quality of the quality of the coffee plays an important part in the making or breaking of the cafe; suzuki has tight control in the process of bean selection, roasting as well as brewing. With such passion and dedication, the coffee of Suzuki is rich but not astringent, aromatic but not pungent; it might very well be a perfect cup for to end a meal or to go with your afternoon tea sweets. A japanese take in classical western cuisines, thats what i call propper fusion cooking; it is innovative but at the same time reassuring and comforting.

The setting is casual. Tables are small, they are cramped to ensure the most efficient use of the offered space. There are no proper chairs, you actually sit on small metal drums. When you are led to your table, the staff will inform you that you can only eat for 90 minutes. Service is quick and efficient. Even on a Saturday night the staff will help you to cook for you and give you advices when the meat etc. is ready. They change the grates once it gets burned. This is great service. Food is exceptional good! It emphasizes on Beef, Pork and Seafood. For a carnivore this is paradise. The beef is offered from all kind of different cuts, marinated or non marinated. My favorite is the marinated beef short rib. It is tender, juicy and the taste is great. Some more exotic parts of the pig are also offered which include skin and intestine. Kimchi, Lettuce and Sesame leafs are replenished free of charge. Make sure to order some Korean beer or Sochu to accompany your meal. This place is inexpensive, making it great value for money!

It is a rice noodle restaurant were you can customize what sides you want to add, level of spiciness, and type of soup broth. My friend ordered the sweet and spicy soup broth for me and it was bombbb! I had the schezuan broth the first time and it was way to spicy for me to handle! So, if you like mala (numbing spice) then go with schezuan! As for my sides, I added beef, pickles, minced pork, and chicken. You can add as many sides as you want for only 5rmb which is less than $1usd. If I can recall, I believe each bowl was around 19rmb ($3usd) which is so incredibly cheap! Be sure to arrive before dinner time because it tends to get packed here, so you will be waiting at least 20 minutes for a seat. Also, don't be alarmed if the waitress seats you with other parties. I learned that it's normal to share tables!

It's best to start off light and slow, so you know what's good and can order again. There's a time limit, I think about 2 hours. Everything we ordered was delicious. We liked the uni handrolls, the chicken wings always come out super hot. And the lamb was the best, but it takes awhile. The sashimis all tasted fresh, you can't go wrong w salmon or yellowtail. Be sure to save room for dessert, because they have so much to choose from. My favorite was the frozen yogurt and the Mochi ice creams. The egg custards were also really good. Will definitely come back when I'm in HK! Great service although they will occasionally lose an order or two, just reorder it. Might need reservations too on busy days.
