It's always fun to have a Family Dinner Gathering once in a while (wink, wink!). The fun of having…read moresuch gathering is for busy family members to catching up with each other's latest happenings etc. And of course when you have more people for dinner its always a good way to share more dishes! Chuk Yuen is a well established Seafood Restaurant this is close to my home in Hong Kong, situated at the Tram Terminus in Happy Valley, it is a very convenient location for locals and visitors alike! Being a seafood restaurant, they have their very own fish tanks at the front of the restaurant for foodies to pick their own! As you can see from my photos, all the seafood was prepared really well, my personal favourite is their Salt & Pepper Mantis Prawns topped with Fried Garlic! Since the Mantis Prawns are all freshly picked from their own fish tank, they cannot be more fresh! The meat of the prawns were all done just right and not dry, as it can be if it is just slightly over cooked, this requires experience & skill from the Chef. Of course, all other dishes are also outstanding, in fact, we came back the next morning to try their dim sum, which were also done very well! Only pity is that for normal meals, with just the two of us, it is impossible to order the variety and the amount of food you see here, well, I guess that gives us more reason to call the family in!!

We arrived at 6pm on a Tue. and got a table for 4, but they were already a bit busy. There were groups waiting outside when we left. We got two of their signature dishes: glass noodles with ginger and scallion crab in a clay pot, and golden crab congee. Both were crab-tastic, making wonderful use of the natural crab flavor. The mung bean glass noodles were outstanding, and so fragrant with crabby ginger. The rice porridge was rich, and indeed golden from being cooked down with the crab innards. The beer selection is limited to your basic light lagers, but cheap, 22HKD ($3US) for a large bottle. The crab is not so cheap. 2 specialty dishes plus one cheap beer was just over $120US. Pricey, but we left satiated, full of crabby comfort food.

Amazing restaurant. Everything I had was delicious…read more The best dishes I had here are: * Char Siu - juicy, succulent chunks of roast pork. Tastes exceptionally good. I was sooo full, but I finished it all. * Razor Clams - perfection * Lobster - very flavorful and exceptional taste From the exceptional Char Siu to the Egg Noodles, I have not had anything better in San Francisco. Well, except for the unusually yucky Supreme Shark's Fin Soup. There is nothing supreme about the fake giant Shark's Fin and the thin soup. However, the service is superb and the head manager and head chef sincerely asserted on the genuineness of the dish. Love the subdued elegance of the atmosphere, excellent yet unpretentious service and exceptionally innovative cuisine. Can't wait to come here again!

Very reasonable prices, and decent service for a Hong Kong dai pai dong. I love that they go overboard with garlic and scallions as a seasoning, it brought out the freshness of the seafood. FOOD: 5 SERVICE: 4…read moreAMBIANCE: 4 VALUE: 4 On a rainy day, we didn't want to venture too far from hotel. Fortunately, being attached to Langham place, we had plenty of places to eat. We chose this Korean pizza & chicken restaurant because we haven't seen anything like this in the US. We had the following: Garlic Sweet Chilli Chicken w/Lotus Root - we ordered the small, 6 pcs, which included wings, drumsticks and thigh meat, a few pieces of sliced lotus roots, all lightly batter and deep fried, then tossed with a garlic/chili/sweet sauce. Very tender and juicy chicken, from a normal sized chicken (not like the skinny chicken served in wing stores in the US). The lotus roots were crunchy. The sauce was not overwhelming and just had a hint of chili. Bulgogi Chicago pizza - a 9" pizza with slices of marinate Bulgogi beef, slices of pepperoni and tomatoes with an abundance of cheese! The outer edges of the crust also had cheese inside and was sprinkled with powdered sugar. Surprisingly flavorful pizza, with just the right amount of ingredients. The beef was very tender. Lychee Mojito & Yuzu Mojito - we couldn't taste the alcohol in either of these. Refreshing, but not worth the price. Come for the food, skip the cocktails.

Ordered avocado soft shell crab roll and a salmon roll with salmon roe for the sushi items. Each order came with only 4 pieces but the presentation was on point. The salmon roll was ok but I preferred the avocado soft shell crab roll as it was a bit tastier. The waitress gave 3 suggestions for barbecue skewers-a beef skewer, eel skewer and also a chicken tendon meatballs with a yolk dipping sauce. I really enjoyed the chicken meatballs and the bits of crunchiness for texture. The beef skewer was delicious and I would say my least favorites was the eel. We paired everything with a bottle of "black cow" sake that went well with everything. Initially was going to give 4 stars but the service was excellent so it tipped over to five stars. They also serve some radish and lettuce and a piece of beef tongue that was absolutely delicious!

Located in the basement of the Asia Pacific Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui, the restaurant has a very modern, clean, and spacious interior, perfect for our large group of nine. The portions were generous enough to satisfy everyone, and the food quality was outstanding. Here is a breakdown of our feast: Black Truffle Crispy Roast Goose (Half): Absolute perfection. This requires a pre-order due to limited quantities, and it is worth every bit of planning. Deep-Fried Stuffed Crab Claws with Shrimp Paste: A standout dish of the night. Perfectly crispy outside and packed with savory flavor. Freshly Sliced Spanish Iberico BBQ Pork: Incredibly tender, rich, and delicious. The Classic Crispy Shrimp Toast, Seasonal Vegetables with Salted & Century Eggs, Stir-Fried Noodles with Soy Sauce and Bean Sprouts, and Tofu Pouches with Crab Meat & Bamboo Fungus were all executed flawlessly. Dessert: A wonderful, sweet conclusion to a fantastic meal. Overall Experience: Every single dish tasted amazing. If you want high-quality Cantonese food in a comfortable, roomy place that is great for groups, Lantern Seafood Restaurant is a must-visit.

The food is a little pricier but for the upscale environment and the quality of food it's more than reasonable. For appetizer the mushroom soup is loaded with bits of mushroom, and not too heavy in the cream, totally beats the many other mushroom cream soups. The pomelo salad is refreshing with bites of pomelo and melon, and the greens are fresh. I also love the fried rich with truffle and fois grais, as well as the shrimp with squid linguine in a Tom Yum sauce. The sauce adds a little fusion, unusual flavor but it all works well together. The only thing that I don't care for is the pizza. Instead of a stretchy dough this one feels more like a thick cracker, and the cheese isn't very tasty. The blueberry drink is another win. In short, I'll be back!
