Broken floorboards on the patio. The leg of my chair actually went through the hole in the floorboard!!

The patio is falling apart. Sadly, the walls, windows, gutters, and floorboards are in poor condition. For such an iconic restaurant, the owners should take better care of it as the atmosphere outside is very unpleasant due to its dilapidated state. Very unfortunate. Service was acceptable. Our server forgot our waters but immediately got them after being reminded. Drinks were mediocre. The latte and iced coffee was diluted. I hear the food is good and a walk through of the interior of the restaurant showed some lovely and classy decor. Hopefully they renovate and maintain the patio.

We decided to stop here for dinner after visiting Victoria Peak since it looked very cute from the outside and was decorated well with Christmas lights. We sat outside and the ambience was wonderful although it was a little cold and the heat lamps weren't very effective. The menu features sections of all types of cuisines including asian, Italian, burgers, curries, etc. We ordered the pear, spinach and gorgonzola salad with poppy seed dressing which was pleasant but definitely not worth $168 HKD (about $21 USD). We also ordered the mixed stir fry vegetables which came with rice and were tasty but also not overall impressive. We also got red curry with chicken, and we liked this dish. Lastly, we got the pad thai and this was also delicious. Although this restaurant was very nice with great ambience, we were not too impressed by the food and do not think it was worth the price.

The Peak Lookout is a "must do" restaurant in HK. Not because it is the best of the best, but because it is right up in The Peak, and has this great heritage and an effortless kitschy cool that visitors and locals alike should experience. First, to the food. The menu is huge, massive. It's the size of the Sunday Times, just with smaller print! The flavours go right around the world, with western (European and American), SE Asian, curries, Chinese. They even have an oyster bar with the seafood flown in from goodness knows where. This does make it ideal for a group, as there is sure to be something for everyone, but if you are a slow coach like me, it'll take you ages to decide. The food is well prepared, especially the grill items and the curries. These two are particularly good. The wine list is extensive, as are the other drinks options, but I think they keep fairly small stocks. During one Saturday session with a couple of friends, we drank their entire stock of rose, which did take them about 2 months to replace - we were thirsty! The service is sort of old school, and a bit formal (but not in a good way). It's also bit difficult to get service on the terrace at night, as it is really dark and the wait staff just don't see you. It's actually better of an afternoon anyway, as you may catch a bit of a view, and sitting outside on a cool day is so nice. The location is great. Right next to the Galleria and Peak Lookout, but across the road, so that you don't get that busy bustle of these tourist hot spots, but are close enough to jump in a cab or bus home. I could imagine that in the past it was the envy of the surroundings, and this can be seen in the many historic photos of the site dotted around the restaurant. However, since the Peak's shopping "monstrosities" have grown up, the views on one side are now non existent. The view from the opposite side terrace look south, but it is starting to get a bit overgrown, so many of the tables are losing this view. Top tip, if you are on the terrace, sit closer to the entrance and not the toilets. The toilets are far away, so this is not the issue, it is the clear area in between the toilets and the last few terrace tables. Diners inside tend to come out to this clear area to smoke, which means they are smoking right next to those end tables.

Goose and chicken went in to a bar...

A good mix of everything from everywhere hanging on the side of the Peak. It can be hot in the sun and the crowds make the wait long but it really is ok to be a tourist. Or walk across the street and get Burger King but....

This is a lovely restaurant situated at the top of the peak, adjacent the peak galleria. It looks beautiful at night with all the lights in the garden. Perfect ambiance for date night Broad menu, lots of choices. Good food. Good service. I would definitely go back.

Wow! Super surprised there is a yelp entry for this restaurant!…read more This place I feel is not in the most ideal area. Personally, I don't like coming to LKF to have dinner or lunch or whatever. Still, I can't fault them too much for the location, and many people have actually done the same since there are a number of good restaurants in LKF area. This place is primarily a steak place, though they have a few other things to choose from as well. I believe lunch times they offer a AYCE sort of option, where you get a main and then the salad bar is buffet. I've been to it before and it's pretty good. I've heard however since COVID they have changed it somewhat. The other night I came and got the seafood guazzetto, which is about $300 HKD, and has a bunch of different things such as fish, octopus, clams, etc. Lots of seafood essentially. Other things I tried included the sides of brussel sprouts, mushrooms, bruschetta, some of my brother's sirloin steak, some of the fish of the day (halibut?). Overall, the food is quite nice. I will say, they tend to use a bit too much butter/oil here. I know this is kind of true whenever you eat out, but here it is definitely noticeable. I would recommend them to tone it down just a little bit, since there are always ways to spice up your dish without going overboard on the fats

I came here for dinner three nights ago, and I'm still full from it!…read more The five of us shared bruschetta (it comes with four but they added one more for us), the cured meats (a great curated selection), and the meatballs for appetizer. They also brought out some veggies and dip before we ordered (which I had never seen done before) along with bread. The highlight of the night was the steaks of course. We shared the florentina (aka the porterhouse. A 32oz wagyu beast) and a filet. The meats came on a cutting board already cut, so the sharing was easy. They were perfectly seasoned, tender, and flavorful. We had roasted veggies and creamed spinach as sides. The latter was addictive! Chef Todd was around to explain their meat selection when I walked around to check them out in the case. We didn't get to send our regards to him, as we stayed late and were the last to leave. Todd, if you're reading this, hail to the chef! We went without a reservation and were seated right away. It was a Thursday night, but we had gotten there around 9 which might explain the vacancy. It's a great option for groups and celebratory dinners :)

Although the laidback tunes they bump here are actually really nice and a great way to enjoy Sunday lunch. Their lunch set consists of a soup starter, and your choice of appetizer. We went with crab cakes, which are solid by HK standards but average/below average by New England standards. The main courses are fantastic - see the pictures! The bread they give you here is phenomenal - I've no idea what they do to it but I'd come back just for the bread. We've been eating bread wrong our whole lives. Whole grain, whole shmain. Service here was great although the sparkling water is absurdly expensive. 70 HKD for a bottle of sparkling is mind boggling. The food I thought was a bit hot or miss. Overall, I did have a good experience here. Food: 3.5 stars Service/atmosphere: 4.25 stars Overall: 3.75 stars Recommendations: truffle fries, key lime pie, truffle musturd The menu has a number of options for steak. I opted for the John Stone Ribeye steak from Ireland. The steak was cooked medium rare but parts of the steak felt a bit closer to rare and was a bit chewy at some parts. The seat on the steak gave it a bit of a charred taste which I didn't like. It may sound like the steak was bad but that's not the case. Overall I did enjoy it but at this price point I do have high expectations. I would opt for the angus steak as the beef from the US is really the best aside from Japanese Wagyu. There are a wide range of choices for sauce and mustards. The crab cakes are also often sited as a must order. On the positive side there is a lot of crab and there isn't that much filler. However, I found them to be just ok taste wise. My favorite parts of the meal were the garlic bread, truffle fries and the key lime pie. I think I may have given a three star review if it weren't for the key lime pie. It is really good and if you like desserts that are a bit tart then please order this. The pie crust is fantastic and really is the star of this dish.

A few places I've been in Asia usually aren't willing to cook a steak or anything else for that matter, than medium. The steak was cooked perfectly, tender, moist and even though they brought out a few sauces but honestly they're not needed. While steak is obviously the centerpiece of a good steak house, the sides shouldn't be neglected. The creamed spinach was really good. Since I haven't had a prime rib in FOREVER, I finally acquiesced. The restaurant was filled with business people during lunchtime. The Lawry's in BH isn't even open for lunch! The HK Lawry's also had other choices for a starter other than the spinning salad and entrees that aren't offered in the US. I ordered the spinning salad for nostalgia's sake. The salad was fine, but my dad's foie gras with fig was a better deal. I stuck to the classic prime rib, though I ordered the HK cut (HK$408), which is smaller than the California Cut and Lawry's Cut that I am accustomed to. It came with mashed potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. Paired with the horseradish, the prime rib was just the way I remembered it to be. My dad opted for the twin lobster tails (HK$378), which came already de-shelled, saving him the struggle of removing it. Overall, it was a decent lunch. There's better food to be had in HK, but if you're looking for a traditional reliable Western meal in an upscale setting, there's Lawry's.
