( Used to live with my grandparents in the area ) This location used to be a movie theater. The first theater I went in my life. The coffee shop kept the name of the theater as their wall background. I really love the decor. I got spoiled by the nice, beautiful San Francisco weather. Hong Kong is hot to me from Jan to Dec. Therefore, I don't always have coffee in HK. I just realized I ordered the same drink : "Passion Fruit Blast" the same Pacific Coffee location. I must enjoy this drink very much. It was a great drink to cool myself down from the heat. This is a nice location for relaxing, good for resting, reading and working on your computer, etc. Staffs are able to communicate in English well.

Usually the line gets pretty long in the morning from 8:30-9 but dies down after 9:30. Service here is pretty nice and quick as well. I usually get the Chai tea latte or caramel macchiato. As usual, you can ask for skim or soy milk and they have the tall, grande, and bento sizes. One thing I have noticed about the soy caramel macchiato though is that it tastes oddly slightly bitter... And even with skim milk it tastes a little weird to me... Just not the same as back in the states... Maybe it's just the milk they use? But the chai tea latte tastes ok to me. They do have unique holiday flavors like gingerbread, toffee but, and even panettone! I was so excited for the panettone one since I love the bread! But it was kinda meh... It was just a regular sweet latte with some whipped cream and tried fruit bits sprinkled on top... Although I'm not sure really what I was expecting with a panettone latte... Anyhoo one thing that did make me really sad is that they don't have the pumpkin spice latte for fall!!!! As a basic American girl, that is all I ask for during my fall holiday season :'( Overall, just a normal Starbucks which means it is good!

The name of the delicacy translates into turtle jelly in English which obviously makes me wonder if it did. It probably does. Anyways, this dish looks like a really black jello. It is really sour so you need to put a good deal of syrup to make it palatable. I had constant sour face as I ate it. Supposedly this delicacy has numerous health benefits so it falls under the category of healthy food that doesn't taste good. Understandable since it tastes like medicine. This delicacy is not for everyone which is the case for me.

I didn't know this until I was reading the sign waiting around for my matcha soft serve. NBD.....that meant that there was more for me to eat in the regular size. I ordered a plain soft serve with waffle cone. The matcha soft serve had the earthy taste of the tea and most importantly, not that sweet. The soft serve went well with the crunchy waffle cone and it was gone in no time. I will definitely come here again on my next visit - I will shop for groceries and get my prize of soft serve afterwards.

There was a time when soft serve became all the rage, and Via Tokyo was there through it all. While I miss the TST location (#1), this Causeway Bay version has a bit of seating and all the Japanese-inspired vibes one can ask for. Like most HK shops, the seating is tight and limited. There are wall-facing counter spots, along with a handful of tables for small groups. The wait is likely during the hot weather days (#2), but the turnover is quick since ice cream is consumed and melts quickly. The staff is young and friendly, doing their best to keep the ice cream coming while helping folks navigate the seating. Cones and cups range for roughly $40-45. The Hokkaido milk is my absolute favorite, smooth and creamy, and reminiscent of some of the ones I've had from Japan. Houjicha and matcha are the more popular items here, which take up a majority of the orders and is especially pretty when made into a bowl with fruits and other sweets. The moment of food photography won't last long, as the ice cream will begin to melt in less than a minute. HK dessert options are always revered. Thus, so is Via Tokyo and I hope they manage to stick around as long as possible. They take Alipay, Octopus, and of course, cash. ____________ (#1) Forever immortalized: https://www.yelp.com/biz/via-tokyo-香港-2?hrid=jtpxWsnvwDSZgQu9s6kF5g (#2) Which is often.

The two photos are from different trips, but I have tried a few things here. I have had the tomato beef macaroni, curry fish balls, French toast, and pineapple butter buns. Everything was amazing, and I think their tomato beef macaroni is my favorite here. Their Hong Kong milk tea is also perfect with just the right amount of sweetness. It is not too bitter or too sweet, just perfect (I like sweet things but not too sweet). The restaurant is a bit tight, but they do offer takeout. Even when it gets busy, customers are usually friendly and quick, especially if they see a long line and they are finishing up soon.

And you definitely need to get the milk tea here. The hot one is smaller and comes with condensed milk, while the cold version is larger but comes without condensed milk. Both are extremely concentrated, but delicious. If you're sensitive to caffeine though, it'll keep you up. Best of all, everything was so cheap - 160 HKD (about $20 USD).
