Let me start by saying our breakfast meal at Cafe de Coral was delish! The chicken filet with Manuka honey was flavorful and tender. The preserved mustard, pork, corn and carrots congee was very good as well as the fried noodles. Low sugar green tea was good too. This cafe is big with the locals. It is located in a ginormous mall which is split into 2 phases and it is located in Phase 1. Because of the mall size, it is hard to find and there are hardly any directories or maps. There is a wall food directory which tells you what dining establishment there are and the address. Even though we stayed in a hotel attached to the mall, we got lost. For reference, it is located across from a major dim sum place Tim Ho Wan.
We decided to dine in and placed the order at the kiosk instead of the cashier. It looks more like a cafeteria with a counter for pickup with seating. It could be harder to find seating during peak times. I paid with CC and it took a long time to process. I asked for a receipt and good thing I did. It printed a bunch of receipts, some duplicate. I asked for help from the cashier and she took one of the duplicates and tossed it. Then she called the counter to tell them about the order and to go up there since I didn't have an order number. On one of the receipts, it said to "Please submit to bar". Now that I think about it, I should have submitted it. I showed my order receipt to the counter people and she gave me one order, took my receipt and crumpled it. Then I told her I had another order and said this one is mine (wrong order) and that I also ordered a green tea (which was good). So I didn't get the correct order but it was still good. Piece of advice, pay with the Octopus card (the prepaid reloadable card), it is more convenient and less issues. read more
