I had intended to visit here when I stayed in 2024, but wasn't able to. I was finally able to on my final day of my Asia trip, before taking the bus to the airport. I liked the interior design of this place, with lots of resemblance of HK street life, as well as a MTR-like map that mixes actual Tuen Ma Line stations with popular HK style cafe items. I had the satay beef instant noodles with scrambled egg and toast. It was good! The satay had a flavourful taste, and the scrambled egg was exactly how it should be: layered and relatively smooth. Service was efficient here. I definitely prefer this place over the two HK style cafes down the road closer to the hotel.

Kam Wah Cafe is also famous for their freshly baked Pineapple Bun and Butter. Can't start your day without some HK Milk Tea and Iced Ovaltine. My son said it's a good thing the nai cha in the states are not as good because he was starting to develop an addiction. Lol. For those of you who don't know, it's made with Ceylon leaves, evaporated milk and sweetened condensed milk. The French toast was so damn delicious but a bit indulgent. I do wish I could taste more of the peanuts. My son loved his bolo bao. We also shared a hot bowl of macaroni soup with Spam and lettuce. Thinking back, I regret not trying the Spicy Satay Beef Instant Noodle. I will have to look for this back in the states. The aunties working here are just the most adorable, very kind and welcoming. One of them took the time to help us navigate the huge menu and recommended a few items. I would come back again and again if I could. I have a mad love for these iconic HK Style Cafes aka Cha Chaan Tengs. These affordable quick-paced restaurants were influenced by the city's 150 years of British rule. Aside from the classic breakfast items, they also offer many delicious rice and noodle dishes in the afternoon.

You seat yourself when you walk in then they'll take your order once seated. The check is brought to you ahead of time but you won't pay until you bring the check up to the counter when you're done. Definitely a cheap eats option as we had two meals along with two pineapple buns and egg tarts for only around $15 US!! Downside is that it's cash only, they didn't accept credit cards.

They had small two person-only tables so no need to share if those are available. This cafe is located near some popular shopping streets and markets but deep enough in Kowloon where nothing is in English, however it helps to have someone who speaks Canto. :) I love these cafes for their fast, no nonsense service and they certainly live up to it.
