Maxim MX is one of these, and this branch recently opened in Jubilee Garden mall in Fo Tan. I felt compared to other restaurants, this one lacked a lot of good options. I got their fish cutlet which was incredibly small and tasted bland. It came with a piece of toast which was also average, and some hard-boiled eggs which were incredibly temperature hot when they came out it was really hard to peel the shell off. Mostly forgettable meal, though can't argue with the convenience.

Canada is known for its beef (way more than Hong Kong is, at least) and Yoshinoya is a franchise, one step above typical fast food (though let's not get into how much better fast food is in Asia than in North America). Regardless, the beef bowls I've had are everything I want in beef bowls and I'm always left wanting more. No fancy gimmicks and toppings. Just soft marinated beef on a bed of warm rice (and steamed veggies/egg if you want it). Maybe it's the marinade: sweet but not overwhelming, savoury enough to cut through the fattiness of the beef. Pair that with a side of grilled mackarel and a pop for less than HKD $50. Or if you're feeling ambitious, they've got a MEGADON beef bowl with 66% MORE BEEFY GOODNESS. It almost seems scandalous: to enjoy the beef here more than I would in the place where it's probably imported from. I don't have beef with Canada's beef bowls. They usually have a wide selection of set meals (ranging from $25-50 HKD) of Chinese-style options as well as Western-style options. Ordering is very quick and simple -- you order in the front, bring your ticket to the counter, and within a few minutes they finish preparing the meal for you to take back to your table. I ordered one of their set meals that came with a piece of toast, scrambled eggs, macaroni in a tomato broth, and a hot milk tea (for ~$35 HKD). For the price, it was a good, filling portion. The quality of the food was pretty average, but the meal had a good variety of flavors and tastes.

There's free wi-fi in the plaza as well as decent numbers of seats in the cafe.
