Good thing they have good service - you can read their menu ahead of time and order right away once you are seated. And the menu is only a small selection - choose a ramen base, toppings, thickness of noodles. I chose the black squid version, with thick noodles. The broth overall is very strong and thick. A lot of flavours hitting the palette. The noodles were done to the right level. Inside the restaurant is very small, probably around 15-20 people. Pricing wise was around $15 CDN.

Even the ground meat was covered in squid ink! This was a really good ramen, even if I did feel kinda thirsty afterwards. The noodles were Chinese rather than the Japanese ramen, which was ok, but it would really be better if they had the latter! The pork belly was so fat and thinly cut though, oh my gosh. You could add pickled radishes and veggies from little jars on your table (one was spicy and the other was very salty)-- both were delicious. You share that as well as any more spicy seasoning and communal water. My bf got the Red King and it wasn't as spicy as he thought it would be, and it is more chili oil than actual chili powder. His soup was salty as well. I quite like this place for its novelty ramen. If you know what you like, you can also customize your ramen!

My boyfriend and I were enroute to Indonesia and we had an 8-hour layover in Hong Kong. Without any…read morereal plans to venture out to the city at 7am, we sort of just walked the airport for snacks and food when we felt hungry. We were mostly occupied with playing Pokemon Go at the airport, so that kept us entertained until about lunch time. Our initial plan was to eat the peking duck restaurant next door, but lines were long and the menu seemed daunting ($$), so we decided to keep it simple. We ventured through the food court next door and found ramen to be the most appetizing menu there. The cashier was a bit short in tone and basically just took the order without asking for anything more. I got the miso veggie ramen with a choice of drink. However, cashier didn't give you a choice and just gave you a coke, lol. Like, I get I'm a tourist and all, but at least let me choose. The veggie assortment was pretty standard with carrots, bell peppers, bamboo and cabbage. Broth was a little salty for my preference, but better than expected. Decent meal, but I wouldn't say I'd come back again to this location. If it was a restaurant location instead of food court, I think I would feel differently about it.

It's very simple menu and this airport location basically forces you to get a combo with soda (and no, you can't get water or tea instead.) I ordered the shoyu charsiu ramen. I asked if it was possible to get it spicy & the gal working said no. I still enjoyed much more than I though I would. Great Q to the ramen itself & the broth was tasty - even though I drowned it in chili oil. I ate it all & drank every drop of broth. The only spicy option here is the miso spicy charsiu ramen. The Miso spicy is VERY soy bean forward and pretty dang spicy. Also, unlike the shoyu charsiu, it only has pieces of meat. If you find yourself at HKG and are looking for something to eat, don't miss out on Baikohken! It's a little further down from the main eats (Ajisen, McDonald's, etc.) but worth the small airport trek! 152/365

While we waited, we see a big cloth hanging that tells you the restaurant is from Japan's Michelin Recommended Takano. The kids meal was the most impressive. They ate well that night! They got a small bowl of yummy ramen, delicious fried fish cake, gyozas, salad, and a strawberry cream waffle dessert AND a Yakult which they loved. All for HKD$92. The Aguni Island Salt Ramen we ordered was full of flavor and quality ingredients - the staff said this was the ramen with the lighter broth. Finally the Tsukemen that arrived last was just OK to us. The ramen was much thicker, and served slightly cold; best part of the dish was the dipping soup which had tasty protein in it, but I would stick to getting their ramen in the future. Apparently all their ramen are handmade. The service was slow so be ready for that. The kids meals came out first and the adult's ramen came 10-15min later and we were so hungry the adults started eating off the kids' plates. The Tsukemen took so long to come out I had to follow up with the staff if they've forgotten the order, but they hadn't... it just took that long.
