Got stuck in Hong Kong because of a flight delay, but I made the best of my time here. :)…read more The oden was a meh, in a teacup, so small in size. The unaju was ok. The grilled eel was obviously the ones you can buy frozen from Japanese supermarkets. Only two small pieces, roughly 1/3 of an eel. We had to order another eel grill to finish up the rice. The rice was the only bright spot, chewy and hot, that warmed a traveler's heart. I like everything boxed. :) Egg roll with ungai inside was another meh. The eggs were lack of a taste. The service was slow and not attentive. My waiter waited next to my table staring while I was writing the tip. A lot pressures and I was too shy and coward to give a bad tip. ;( Won't come back again.

I ordered the wagyu beef rice plate didn't know what to really expect but I must say it was amazing. The beef was soft and flavorful all the vegetables went very well with it. The only thing that threw me off was a fruit cup that had a strange sauce inside of it didn't care too much for it. As for service well let's just say it's not the greatest nor was it the worse. We were brought to our table and it roughly took 20min for a waiter to come by to even ask if we wanted water/something to drink. And to make things worse they forgot to bring one of the entrees out we had to ask where it was cause they rarely came to check up on us. But other than that it was a nice environment and the food was delicious.

The braised meat and soup had very little gaminess and tasted clean and balanced. The meat was tender. One downside of the dish is that the fish is not only ultra-processed but has a very mushy texture. Overall, Ramen Souo Noodles with Braised Beef is still a good dish. Beef Fried Rice Noodles (亁炒牛河) are almost the national dish of Hong Kong, so the standards for making the dish are high. I was quite disappointed with their Beef Fried Rice Noodle. The dish wasn't necessarily bad. The noodles had the right texture, moisture, and taste. But everything else in the food was below average. The beef was of poor quality and tasteless. The spring onions, chives, and bean sprouts were too overcooked.

Started of with the French toast that comes with a slice of biter and side of syrup. Next was peanut butter toasted sandwich with condense milk and sprinkled with Milo. Peanut butter was good and tasted if they made it themselves and not a prepackaged one. Last of the dish that came was the Cha chaan Tang all time favorite. Fried chicken leg with a choice of French fries or salad, so i chose the fries. When the chicken arrived, I let it cool down a bit as you can literally feel the heat come from it. After letting the chicken rest a bit, I cut straight into the joint as this is the area that normally gets under cooked. Sure enough, my was definitely under cooked as you can see red meat still clinging onto the bone. So I had brought this to the attention of the wait staff that it was under cooked and showed here the part of the chicken leg that was under. Although I was already expecting them to re-fry the same chicken, but was I in for a surprise. The kitchen decided to fry the chicken leg to the point where the exterior turn to a dark golden brown and chewing the meat seemed it took for days before you could swallow it. To top it all off, they didn't even change the fries. HELLO! juice from undercooked chicken had gotten onto the fries. Obviously the kitchen staff needs to get re-educated as they forgot that salmonella and the effects it has on to ones body. I had brought this to the attention of what appears to be a manager level, but got a reply was more like they could care less. The kitchen guys were definitely taking a pist at the kitchen and if they don't see anything wrong with under cooked chicken an issue or their fault, then we have an issue to the public. Definitely would be coming back here for a looooong while, unless you want to test your immune system as who knows what elder could be done wrong

If you prefer your chicken broth to be rich and creamy, their soup ramen is a delectable indulgence. There is always a line wrapping the restaurant. *Signature Chicken Soup Ramen 鶏白湯そば Unlike typical ramen, their broth is uniquely frothed to a cappuccino style to make sure every strand of noodle fully adsorbs the broth. The chicken broth is thick, creamy and densely packed with flavor. You can easily tell it is prepared out of simmering the chicken essence for hours. Each ramen is accompanied by a slice of slow-cooked chicken, two slices of cha shu and deep-fried burdock chips. I am totally impressed by how tender the chicken breast is! I asked for addtional ajitama every time. The egg is perfectly soft-boiled and marinated.

I saw that there are often lineups, but I came after the lunch time rush ~2pm) and there was only 1-2 other tables and no wait. Inside was quite spacious with bar seating and table seating - I honestly didn't mind the bar because it was still roomy (even roomy enough to put my carry on below me haha). There was only ~3 options on their menu so I opted for their Signature Chicken Soup Broth Ramen ($148 HKD). I was honestly blown away by the foamy broth - lightweight but full of chicken flavour. Not salty at all and had such a clean and creamy taste. Noodles were cooked perfectly and tasted similar to thin ramen noodles. It came with 2 different cuts of chicken and both were so tender. I especially enjoyed the cut of the thigh. The fried burdock root had a nice chewy texture. It didn't get too soggy even sitting in the warm broth for a while. I'd say it could be just a tad more crispy because it was a little hard to bite though but the flavour was perfect. Honestly it is quite pricy for a bowl of noodles, but I would definitely revisit as it was that good. Definitely worth the trek out to try!

Good thing they have good service - you can read their menu ahead of time and order right away once you are seated. And the menu is only a small selection - choose a ramen base, toppings, thickness of noodles. I chose the black squid version, with thick noodles. The broth overall is very strong and thick. A lot of flavours hitting the palette. The noodles were done to the right level. Inside the restaurant is very small, probably around 15-20 people. Pricing wise was around $15 CDN.

Even the ground meat was covered in squid ink! This was a really good ramen, even if I did feel kinda thirsty afterwards. The noodles were Chinese rather than the Japanese ramen, which was ok, but it would really be better if they had the latter! The pork belly was so fat and thinly cut though, oh my gosh. You could add pickled radishes and veggies from little jars on your table (one was spicy and the other was very salty)-- both were delicious. You share that as well as any more spicy seasoning and communal water. My bf got the Red King and it wasn't as spicy as he thought it would be, and it is more chili oil than actual chili powder. His soup was salty as well. I quite like this place for its novelty ramen. If you know what you like, you can also customize your ramen!
