Great choice for business lunch. Easy to choose variety of business lunch set menu. Attentive services and I love that our spending can also be eligible for Golden Circle points.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in HK. I would highly recommend you go for lunch because they have a reasonably priced lunch set menu. If you can afford to pay more, I would come any time - lunch or dinner. My favorite dish is the Gyuniku koumiyaki which is beef and rice, it comes with salad, veg, and soup. Only for lunch. For dinner, if you can afford to pay more, I like their shabu shabu, their sukiyaki, their set dinners, and also their rolls and sushi and sashimi. I do think It's over priced, but I like it anyway. Oh and if you have a black Amex card you get 15% off. If you have AMC card you get 10% off. And if you have a shangrila loyalty card you get 20% off. Not just at Nadaman, but at all restaurants in Shangrila. Bet you didn't know that did ya?

I know that sounds exaggerated, but my stomach is very influential upon my moods. The first time we tried to find this restaurant, we got lost and wound up getting there right when it closed. Disheartened, we almost gave up on it since Wan Chai was so far from Sha Tin (4 MTR lines to get there). On the very last day, we decided to try again and I am so glad we did! Despite the fact that we didn't have reservations, the staff very kindly let us dine in one of their private rooms upstairs. The private room was fantastic both for the overall experience and for the kids. Service was very attentive without being intrusive. The wait staff took great care in informing us how to cook and/or eat each item. We ordered 3 lunch sets (3 adults, 2 children). One executive set ($500(?) HKD) including crab tempura, crab shabu shabu, grilled edamame, chuwanmushi, and veggies, one Wagyu set ($150 HKD) including wagyu beef and udon, and one Crab Rice set ($180 HKD) with Matsuba crab / salmon roe and the crab tsukane. Each dish was beautifully presented, incredibly fresh, and oh so tasty. I would highly recommend this restaurant for the food, service, and experience.

Well...if it were true, I would probably get Crab sweats! ....ew.. Moving on, my friends know what a huge crab fanatic I am so they were so nice to take me to a restaurant that was especially crab focused. This place is absolutely, most definitely, completely, TOTALLY, a heaven for crab lovers like myself. Kanizen is a Japanese restaurant that focuses on the different ways to eat Japanese horse-hair crab and mainly Tabara crab. We chose the pre-fixed dinner for two and it had about 7 courses. Just thinking about this meal has got me salivating at my laptop. (Metaphorically) Once you walk in the dimly lit restaurant, you see a pond with ENORMOUS crabs just chilling. The size of these things are quite shocking. I let my waitress know that I wasn't able to finish the whole thing and she assured me that I can, she was, of course, absolutely right. First came out cold crab meat with UNI and tempura fried egg on top. Heavenly, the egg yolk was runny and ran down my crab meat. The crab meat was sweet and perfect. Next came out the crab legs, which I love. Every course was spectacular. My favourite of all was the crab congee you make or can ask the staff to make for you. It was the perfect ending to my crab meal. I was so satiated and I cannot wait to go back.

They had a really good selection of drinks from Japan. From whiskey to gin to beer to sake, every selection they had went well with the food they served. The dishes were small shareable plates so we just shared everything. Here are some of the standout dishes at our table that pleased everyone: Fried Tofu: They said that the tofu came straight from Japan and was put straight into the fryer. So the nice crispy shell is the tofu itself. It was indeed tasty without any additives. Pork Belly: Simple and grilled to perfection with a slight sear. Flavors of most fatty meat come out nicely and this one was no exception. Fried rice with soft boiled egg: What an interesting take on fried rice... with a Japanese styled soft boiled egg. IMO, you can add that soft boiled egg to almost anything and it would make it better. This was a perfect combo (and also a perfect compliment to the stiff drinks they were serving). Japanese gin: we all know Japanese whiskey is top notch. I had never tried a Japanese gin until this night. Just had it with a touch of tonic and it was really smooth. Give it a shot (pun intended). We tried a bunch of other dishes and all were pretty much spectacular. We liked the vibe and the attentiveness and courtesy of the staff. The entire restaurant was also treated to show where they flame up a fish in a traditional Japanese way (I'm guessing... don't quote me on that). Then they serve the fish to each of the tables. Just a nice touch to add to a delightful eventing of food and drinks. Kanpai!

I had to find out for myself. Kamitora is on Amoy street, exactly one street next to another ramen shop, 黑龍拉麵 Koku Ryu Ramen. Kamitora seems to be the more popular one as there was a small line when I arrived. After a 10 minute wait, we were seated and served. I didn't know what to expect of a Japanese BBQ Pork Bowl, at a ramen place. Since I was thinking the local Chinese ones with a fried egg on top, drizzled with fragrant soy sauce. Only found in Cha Chan Teng's and bbq meat shops. It's a favorite local Hong Kong dish, immortalized by Stephen Chow's God of Cookery. The Japanese version also had the fried egg on top, with a veeery runny yolk, meant to be pierced and mixed with the sweet soy sauce in the rice. The bbq pork was neither Chinese style nor the slices like in the ramen - it was cubes of fatty pork that were melt in your mouth. I took a spoonful of the rice, egg and soy sauce mixture, topped it with a cube of pork and egg. Heaven. An instant contender to my " what would be your last meal on earth" question. At Hkd 45, 1/3 of the price of the Kamitora Special, this was a great deal too. Next time, I'm ordering two. The Kamitora Special was their classic noodle, with all the condiments, and extra slices of pork. It was decent, but the pork was very lean for some reason, had all the fat parts been used in the rice? It was decent, though I think Butao and Ichiran have more memorable noodles. But in all fairness, I was still being overwhelmed by the BBQ Pork Bowl. Mmm.
