Lunch special price valid till 5:30pm. Very quick service. The ambiance is nice and clean.

Good quality sushi for decent price! Only thing is the rice is so soft that you cant pick it up without breaking them into pieces. Their hot green tea is delish. Would definitely recommend (:

Sen-ryo supreme sushi platter, 2 of 10 pieces

If you're into conveyor belt sushi, Sen-Ryo is a small chain but a very good one. They have all your usual "cheap" favourites, mixed with some fancier items (what up black and gold plates with fatty tuna!) I especially love the aburi sushi here. My newest discovery, which I can't believe I don't see more of, is the red shrimp with butter. It's semi-grilled with a bit of char and SO. FRIGGEN. GOOD. I tried it as part of the supreme sushi platter, but you can also order this separately too. Though service can be a bit slow (they are extremely busy, after all) my husband says this is the best sen-ryo outlet he's been to. Based on the sushi I've tried, ambiance, IFC location, and fair pricing, I agree with him!

50% off! This ended up to be $5xx and got 2 people stuffed!

Sen-Ryo is my absolute favourite sushi joint. It's truly value for your dollar. Sure there are a lot of other higher quality out there, but also at double the cost so of course omakase is gonna be superior. If I don't mind spending $1-2k for a dinner all the time, then I would rate Sen-Ryo lower, but at the mean time, I like eating at Sen-Ryo often as it satisfies my sushi craving with no complaints. I usually order my favourites (SCALLOP, SALMON, UNI, SWEET/RED SHRIMP, TORO) and personally I really think the octopus, sweet/red shrimp and scallop stands out from other joints. I rarely order octopus but this is an exception! Everything is also significantly higher quality than other sushi shops I've been to. They also have a HUGE variety, including many fish competitors do not have. After 20ish sushi to share, the bill usually comes to $200-300 pp which is a steal for sushi! Plus using my Enjoy credit card, I get $50 off next visit and I think double cash dollars? Also I think the IFC one has a slightly higher QC than all the other ones I've gone to (The worst being Hysan or across from JP, and I can say this because I ate sen ryo from all 3 of those locations in the span of 2 weeks) Overall, Sen Ryo is superior to joints like mi-ne, monster, genki (granted it is the cheaper line) and all similar competitors, Itacho, Shiro, etc by FAR. *** Tips: Try to join member, spend $1200 in 60 days. You get a 50% off coupon on your birthday and it's THE BEST! I also almost never get from their conveyor belt. Also there's usually a long wait, so membership helps or you can just get a ticket and wait.... Favourites: best bang for your bucks Meh: Long waits, runs out of uni Last words: If you can find me another sushi joint where I can get scallop, sweet/red shrimp, uni, toro and other sushi for less than $200-$250 pp, please recommend.

A good and consistent all-round sushi and sashimi dining experience. Which means it's always crowded with people at meal times. So, my favourite way to enjoy this place is to go during off-hours. That generally means outside of 12pm to 2.15pm and 6-9pm on weekdays. Go at 11.45am, 2.30pm, 5.45pm or after 9pm almost always guarantees an immediate seat. Enough people have raved about the freshness of the sushi here. I agree, and will not expand on that by-now obvious point. Oh, except to say that the salmon roe sushi is too good to be missed. What is less known is the cooked food section. Try the salmon/ yellowtail/ tuna joint cooked in sauce (HKD 68/ 120/ 200) and tell me what you think! It's stuff I always order when I'm here. But note that quantity seems limited - it's sold out maybe 20% of the time I ask for it. Overall, this is a nice enough place for me to return to regularly. Not that cheap, but reasonably good value. P/s: there was a really nice salad in Japanese sauce which Senryo inexplicably did away with a while ago... Senryo, if you are reading this, please bring it back! :-)

I ordered my plate from menu, 10 pieces for HK$215 and beef hotpot for HK$88. Both are great! The items on the belt were limited and seems not attractive.

Wonderful sushi. Conveyor belt items were priced based on the color of the plate.

Excellent high end conveyor-belt sushi restaurant in the IFC mall. Not sure what I enjoyed off the conveyor belt but it was all good. Had about 8 selections...yum! Not as expensive as I expected.

To be (there), or not to be (there), this is the question and here's my response.. A resounding NO !

#ThrowbackThursday - Remembering Hong Kong…read more.. Conveniently located at Nathan Road near the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station, we decided to have our final meal in Hong Kong at Daikiya Japanese Restaurant. It's a very solid all-you-can-eat option with two thick notebooks of pictured items to choose from. The raw and the cooked, the fish and the meat, the meal and the dessert... Sashimi - The usual suspects abound (tuna, salmon, yellowtail, etc.), but they also have hokkigai (surf clam), amaebi (sweet shrimp), Hokkaido hotate (scallop), and nishin (Japanese herring with roe). Served on a bed of ice and decorated with artificial flowers, each platter was well-plated... and delicious! Nigiri - There are plenty of winners here, but let's focus on the one that topped the list - Grilled Scallop with Crab Oil and Garlic. Seared enough to give that burnt flavor, dabbed with crab oil, then topped with roasted garlic... Need I say more? This was the highlight of our meal and, yes, my younger daughter and I had this over and over and over! Worthy runners-up - Grilled Flatfish and Prawn with Black Fish Roe. Rolls - An assortment of maki (sushi roll), temaki (hand roll), gunkan-maki (ship roll), and sashimi rolls was on the menu as well, but we were able to try only a few. The Mango and Soft-Shell Crab Roll was too small and had more cucumber than anything else. There simply were better options to be had. Grilled - Surf and Turf! Shrimp, scallop, oyster, lamb chop, beef, chicken, pork, and even pineapple. The best dish was the Sautéed Diced Beef with Garlic. Perfectly seasoned and cooked medium, these beef chunks were so tender and tasty! Dessert - Gotta save room for some (or all) of these - mochi, macaron, ice cream, tiramisù, brownie, crème brûlée, fruit, nut, and so on. We indulged in their special Milk Top, which had a limit of one flavor per person. We tried the Romantic Moment and Green Tea Harmony, which had soft-serve ice cream, red bean/paste, mochi balls, jellies, and rice crispies. The only way to cap off an AYCE! After restocking on calories, we were ready to head back to the hotel and then to HKIA. Daikiya was just what the doctor ordered to fill up our bellies before leaving. We totally enjoyed our stay in Hong Kong, but we had to wrap up our adventure. It was time to say goodbye... for now...

No wonder HK is the paradise for foodies! 1) The menu was extensive, almost overwhelming (there are 2 books), including sashimi boat, nigiri, tempura, seared fish, hand rolls, California rolls, desserts, anything you can think of! My eyes lit up when I opened the menu like I saw gold. 2) The food quality was very good for the price we paid. Everything raw was fresh and chilled and the rest were all served hot and steamy. 3) Service was super efficient and courteous too. They tried to fulfill all your requests. 4) It can be packed so book an early table. 5) You won't break your bank here to be able to enjoy a quality AYCE. We were all so full at the end. I can't wait to go back next time I'm in HK! I hope they stay in business for a while and keep the quality up! **** I heard the other locations don't taste as good so not every Daikiya is the same.

Sushi Kuu is a fairly standard high end Japanese restaurant, of which there are MANY in Hong Kong. It is essentially Hong Kong people's favorite type of cuisine, so it's a really competitive space. The ambiance is quite nice here, so I would recommend it as a place to come after work with colleagues or with an SO or even your family. I've had a lot of things here and most things are pretty good, though fairly pricey, such as the sukiyaki, the sashimi, the sushi, the cod... the cod is probably my favorite. Recently, Sushi Kuu has seen the effects of shrinkflation. For those of you not familiar, this is kind of like inflation, however instead of increasing prices, they keep prices steady but shrink portion size. Personally, I would prefer inflation, but I kind of understand why they do this.

Japanese restaurants are easy to find in HK, with most offering small variations on the same menu,…read moreSushi-Kuu isn't particularly original but the setting is comfy, clean and cool- with jazz music playing while the sushi chefs ply their trade. For starters the Tofu Salad is really worthwhile- a nice blend of east and west that includes pine nuts, micro herbs and diced avocado. The edamame is nice and hot, but there's enough for 4 in a single serving. The broiled sushi has a nice twist, offering salmon, tuna, scallop, yellowtail all with a simply seared top. The pork on rice is billed as black Japanese pork chop but is really just deep-fried pork with egg on rice- a staple of any Japanese restaurant. Fill up on sushi and order the rice in soup with salmon or plum. A great way to fill up.

However, the vibe here is really chill and not at all pretentious, so I think living up to the name is the least of the staff's worries. The space is tiny and fits about 16 people at most. Ambiance-wise it's very no frills; menu-wise there's a lot to choose from. Their sushi bento set lunch had nice offerings- loved the mushroom-y miso soup. The only side I didn't like was the tempura; thought it was a bit overdone. Fish quality isn't mind blowing, but the pricing is very affordable (and I didn't get sick!) so a solid 3 stars it is.

Quality wise isn't super fabulous - but I think it's pretty affordable and simple for a quick bite (around $12-14 CAD). The meal also came with a small salad and miso soup, which was a nice appetizer start. If you're in the area exploring Soho, it would be a nice place to try.

Last call is 2:30 and we got there around 2pm on a Sunday. We had wait a little for the bar to clear up. It's a very small restaurant with only maybe capacity for 20 people or so. We ordered a sashimi lunch set and a tempura set and man it was such a great deal! My sashimi set includes almost 10 pieces of assorted fish like yellowtail, maguro, salmon, imitation crab (don't care), but hey they put amaebi and toro on my plate too and that was quite a nice surprise! Not only the sashimi was plentiful and amazing, my set also came with the steamed egg, miso soup and some pickled vegetables! The tempura was pretty good too and I liked the fried fish, very flavorful and tender! The sashimi set cost around $220 and the tempura a little less than $200. The prices are reasonable for the portions and the quality! Very great deal! Just come here earlier and be prepared to wait.

Boyfriend and I wanted to have a more pricey dinner so we are on vacation…read more This is a really cute, small restaurant. They closed at 10:30pm and we showed up at about 8:30pm. One of the waitress approached us and apologized that they were busy and no seats available. She walked around and came back to tell us that there should be seating at 9pm, and so we told her, "no problem, we will be back then." We walked around the block and went to the mall to kill time. When we got back about 8:50pm, we waited another 15 minutes, which was fine. We could tell it was busy and every seat in the place was taken (they had group celebrating a birthday-- they offer birthday cake!) By the time we were seated, half the place was getting up to leave. Every staff member starts their sentence with "I am sorry.." which they have nothing to be sorry for!-- but just could be their way of being polite. The waitress who took our order was an older lady. She's the one who approached us when we first arrived, who seated us, and took our order. Her English was pretty good, with a very thick accent (of course) but you can understand her. If you couldn't she will repeat herself or try to say it in a different way. She offered many great selections!-- including which needs to be dipped into their special soy sauce and regular soy sauce. We had sashimi of: baby tuna, tuna, salmon, sea urchin, yellowtail.. and a few others I can't remember. And one tuna roll. Their wasabi is delicious! Everything is fantastic! They offer coke, sprite, and orange juice, along with different types of alcohol. The staff is always busy, literally hurrying along. They come over and wipe down the soy sauce drops that are on the table. They switch out your plates once they start to look a little too used, and always makes sure your drinking glass is full. One of the best services I've ever had! I did have to ask for the check, but maybe they do that so you can enjoy your stay and not feel like you need to leave. Our bill was just a little under $250 USD, but that was expected with all the sushi we had, and just what we were looking for. We highly recommend this place!
