I echo what many here have already shared. Zych's is honest, upfront and will not upsell you. They back all of their work, will show you the parts they replaced and explain everything in detail. We have been going here for years. We are not as close by as we used to be and I just had to take my car in for a major repair. I took it to another mechanic within walking distance of my house and after getting the estimate I took to Zych's for an estimate (thankfully I was able to make it over that way ok). I did not share the first quote or the fact that I had taken it somewhere else first. The estimate came back $1400 less (with OEM parts)! Based on the first estimate I asked if it needed some of the the other things that I was told needed to be done and Zych's confirmed it all looked ok and not required or would be taken care of as a result of the labor in the main issue. Great customer service! My car was acting weird ..... Like the starter was bad but it wasn't the starter or the battery etc. They looked at my car without charging me and diagnosed the ECV had gone bad. We ordered a preprogrammed one and I am back up and running! read more

First things first: my story is probably seven or eight years old (and pre-Yelp). However, I couldn't justify not reviewing this place even now because I was very happy with the service I got. I had a '93 Pontiac Bonneville with a broken AC system. I took the car to three other repair shops. After each garage reassured me the problem had been fixed, the AC began blowing hot air five minutes off their lots. I even caught one garage employee trying to take my car home for the night when I went to go pick it up. Finally, a friend recommended Zych's Auto to me, so I gave them a call. I talked to an older gentlemen on the phone and told him about my tricky AC problem. "I've been fixing AC systems for 28 years. I'll get yours working again," he huffed, very matter-of-factly. Admittedly, I was skeptical. A day later, I got my car back. My experience-supported pessimism was finally quashed by Zych's Auto. After my visit, I drove the car day-in, day-out with fully functioning AC. As a Midwesterner temporarily making Florida his home, I was ecstatic that I no longer had to endure 95° temperatures and 100% humidity whenever I got into my leather-clad sedan. The moment you walk into the front door you can see the character this building and people have. Never have I met a more honest mechanic in my life than here. I was provided top of the line service with a smile. I was given honest and fair pricing and Storm went above and beyond to explain any details to me on what work needed to be performed on my vehicle and why. As a woman I often walk into places to have my vehicle serviced and feel taken advantage of or belittled. That is NOT the case here. I felt as if I was part of the family. Very satisfied with my service at Zych's! They did everything I requested and let me know what my car DIDN'T need as well as what needs attention. I felt valued as a customer and they really listened to what I was trying to say. I thought I needed a tune-up but they assured me that it's not necessary at this time, instead of just doing it for the cash. They diagnosed my exhaust system issues and advised me to visit a specialist instead of trying to perform a repair that wasn't their specialty. Their oil change price was totally reasonable. They also checked my brakes, which I didn't ask for but it was a nice touch and I feel like they're really interested in my safety. And their prices really amazed me. I was expecting a much larger bill but was pleasantly surprised! Would definitely recommend Zych's and will be going back for all my future service needs. read more

Got tune-up, oil change, 2 tires mounted and some little odds and ends at a super reasonable price... same price Pep Boys wanted for JUST the tune-up. Jim is really personable and didn't try to fanagle(sp?) or upsell me. Fast, efficient, great service. Can't recommend highly enough. Most single women DREAD going to have their vehicle serviced because they usually try to take advantage and they talk down to you. Definitely not the case at Zych's. read more

Yesterday i drove to this shop because they were the only one open till 6pm. i needed a simple plug done in my tire due to getting a nail(which takes about 5-10 min to complete). I showed up at 5:25pm. When i asked the mechanic if they can provide this service he reply's with "we already closed up shop, the compressor is off. If i can please come back tomorrow at 9:00am " They closed 35 min before closing! i don't understand if your running a business why close shop so early! knowing some clients work 9 to 5 it would be difficult to come normal business hours. read more

Fast, friendly, honest, and reasonably priced. One of the brake lines on my 1989 Chevrolet 1500 blew recently and so I took it to Zych's to get it repaired. The fellow I spoke to, Jim, said that they were pretty booked but he'd try to work me in. The next day I was on the road again with some very quality looking (and feeling) work, and the price came out to less than I was quoted. Having recently moved down to the area from South Carolina I was worried about finding a new repair shop. Now I'm not. If you are in the Altamonte Springs area and you need word done on your car, I highly recommend Zych's, I know it's where I'll be going for the foreseeable future. read more

There is NO DOUBT this is one of the BEST independent shops I've come to trust in Orlando! If your car is out of warranty, taking it to the dealership for service is simply asking them: "Please PRICE GOUGE me! Please let your incompetent people work on my car. Please play the parts changing game to run up my bill"! This shop is HONEST, they have incredibly COMPETENT people there, including Zych himself. They have REAL customer service which you will not find at any dealership. Remember this: Most people know all about the con-games, lies and sleaze associated in the sales end at dealerships. That same sleaze has spread into the shop. DON'T EVER take your car to the dealership for out of warranty repairs. ALWAYS use an excellent, honest independent mechanic...like ZYCH'S! read more

I took my vehicle in for guel tank replacement. I received a call said I had a radiator leak, how impossible is a leak in a brand new radiator. Service was fine for fuel tank but the cost of labor was extra expensive. I drove home and crank it the next morning my vehicle wasn't cranking last before so we took it in he came of with another problem. We pick vehicle up and as my husband was driving water was gushing from under my jeep so we repeatedlt tried calling back and the owner would not answer. I will never take my vehicle there again! read more
