He basically was watching him the entire time or in the store, which was no more than 5 minutes because of how uncomfortable he made us feel. As I was walking out the store, and said to my kid "it's time for us to leave". I heard him say "yeah, good idea." We visited the store, on Tuesday December 30th at noon

Im gonna start with John and the other female that was working last night on 12-11-25. She was super friendly and super helpful. Maybe 15 minutes later John comes up to us and boy does that charm kick in. He was very-very knowledgeable and explained to us that since this was our first set of Le creuset that there was only 2 must haves at first. Didn't push any nonsense on us or try to sell us a bunch of stuff. We definitely bought the two items he suggested ( was on our list anyway ) and 5 more items. This store was beautifully merchandised and the prices were awesome. All these other complaints on yelp about not getting a military discount, cmon man, there prices are way cheaper then online or at other stores. Kudos to John, he's probably the reason I bought that last item at checkout. Not because he was pushy at all, but because his customer service was spectacular.

Since the San Diego location had closed, we headed up to Carlsbad--which already felt like part of the adventure. After all, nothing says "celebration" quite like putting a group of friends in a kitchen with sharp knives, hot burners, and just enough confidence to be dangerous. From the start, the class had a great energy. It was fun, interactive, and just the right amount of organized chaos. We were all assigned tasks, trying to follow directions while also catching up and laughing along the way. At times, it felt more like a lively kitchen full of friends than a structured class, which added to the fun. We also ended up sharing our cooking station with a really great family, which turned out to be a highlight. It added to the experience having more people to laugh with, compare notes, and occasionally look at for reassurance when something didn't seem quite right. There's something about bonding over butter, timing, and "is this done yet?" that brings people together pretty quickly. The menu itself was good: rosemary chicken, risotto, a fresh salad with homemade dressing, and a strawberry custard for dessert. And I have to admit--the risotto was my personal favorite of the night. With all the stirring, multitasking, and conversation happening, I was fully expecting it to go sideways. Instead, it came out perfect, which felt like winning a small but meaningful award. I may never make it that well again, but for one night, I'll take it. If there was one challenge, it was that the class size felt a little large for just one chef. There were moments where it felt like culinary traffic--people waiting for guidance, timing overlapping, and a bit of "are we supposed to be doing this now?" But to the chef's credit, they kept things moving and somehow brought it all together in the end. By the time we stood standing to eat , it was one of those moments where you look around and think, "We actually made this." The food was genuinely good, the experience was memorable, and the laughs along the way made it even better. All in all, it was a fun, slightly chaotic, and very successful way to celebrate. It's not every day you get to cook a full meal with friends, meet new people, and walk away feeling like a semi-professional chef (or at least convincing yourself you are). We'd absolutely do it again--if only to see if we can repeat our unexpected success.

We originally came in just to pick up a couple of spatulas, but the level of service completely transformed our visit. Tina runs an exceptional operation, and it truly shows. Samantha and Mark went above and beyond to take care of us, offering thoughtful recommendations, answering all our questions, and making the entire experience feel personalized and fun. Because of their expertise and genuine care, we ended up leaving with an air fryer oven, indoor grill, Le Creuset pots, and a few other must-haves we didn't even know we needed. This is what outstanding customer service looks like. We shop here often for homeware, but this visit really stood out. Huge thank you to Tina, Samantha, and Mark for making it such a memorable experience. We'll definitely be back!

This location is like the others that I have been to. Clean, airy, bright (plenty of windows letting sunlight in). I have shopped at this location several times, staff is friendly, nice selection of cookware, dishes, glasses, silverware, cooking utensils, mixes, spices, etc. I have taken 2 cooking classes there. Including a class for Steak, Salad, Mousse. It was fun, and informative. Class was a little over 2 hours. We were taught by a renowned chef who walked us through every step in the process. See attached pictures, but in the end, we had a delicious meal prepared by all 4 of us at our station. We also got a discount to use that day on any items we purchased. In addition we were emailed the recipe and ingredient list, and a coupon on a future class. I recommend a class if you have time.

I'm glad I found out about the cooking classes when I just happened to be in the store. There was a schedule for that month posted on the back wall near the restrooms. I immediately wanted to take a baking class then ended up taking several classes like Knife Skills, Intro to Sushi, Delicious Dim Sum, Tamale Making just to name a few. When I was inside the store, the staff were always very friendly and helpful. The chefs were consistently amazing to learn from. They were great with walking the class through the steps and answering our questions at the same time. I loved their team approach...having us work in a group or in a pair depending on the capacity in the kitchen. An added bonus was taking the recipes home. I remember a few years back it was nice to sit down as a class, eat together and socialize; but nowadays, I noticed we've been taking our dishes home. I wonder if it recently went back to how it was originally. Anyway, I always had a fun time cooking, learning something new and meeting people. Thank you Sur La Table for contributing to my cooking journey :-)

We have been purchasing from them since 1992 because of their professionalism and dedication to providing the best products at great prices. Our home has had John Boos butcher block tabletops since then. Our children were literally raised on them. We made bread, cut vegetables, fruits, and served our meals on them. Our gathering place has always been the John Boos maple tabletops. As the kids got older their friends also gathered around in our kitchen. These tabletops are extraordinarily hard and perfect forever. This is the best place to purchase them as they have a direct relationship with John Boos and can answer all questions about sizing and available options. We originally purchased one 30" by 48" in 1992, when we moved we took it with us. We then needed a 36"by 72" which worked great in a bigger kitchen. Now we are redoing the kitchen and are using the John Boos classic country work table as our counters as well as for a large island. The minimalist approach to kitchens and the open airy feeling with these versatile worktables will be perfect in our adobe home. Of course we drove right out to Economy to get their help with this approach and in choosing the right and best products and got a great price too. The delivery was scheduled easily, conveniently, and WE LOVE THE PRODUCTS!!!!!

I started to visit all the refill businesses in San Diego to support them. I realized that this refillery is lacking when it comes to actual refill products. It's more focused on selling high end reusable or single packed products. Other refilleries will have all of their products out on display. This place does not; there's no room, especially with all the other products they are choosing to showcase. I have gotten a foaming hand soap and lotion at this refillery which has a waxy smell and residue that I have not encountered elsewhere. It's not hugely unpleasant, just a little strange. I have also preferred the scents that I have encountered at other places. Refilleries tend to carry some of the same brands, but I have gotten foaming hand soap and lotion at other places that were different. As for community spirit, I know other locations where customers can donate clean empty containers for others to use if they forgot to bring something. This has helped me on numerous occasions when I didn't have the best container for what I wanted. I have donated new containers to other refilleries that my work was going to toss out which are ideal for refill purposes. This refillery does not offer that option, presumably because they have containers for sale. So to sum up my review, not ideal as a refillery, better options out there if you are willing to seek them. This place still offers an alternative if you are trying to live a more eco-friendly lifestyle. Not the best location for fitting the spirit of the eco-friendly community.
