The instructors are fun, patient, and genuinely care about each dancer's growth, both in skill and confidence. The staff is friendly, motivational and communicative, making it easy to stay informed and feel supported throughout the season. It's clear how much heart and dedication goes into creating a positive experience for every dancer. Watching my girls grow over the years has been such a joy, and I highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for exceptional dance instruction in a welcoming and encouraging environment.

She formed lasting friendships and spent much of her childhood there, and for many years we were grateful to be part of the community. In her final years in Company, however, our experience changed. One area where we saw room for improvement was communication. Concerns that were later described as significant were not shared with our family while there was still an opportunity to address them collaboratively. More timely and consistent communication could help families feel more included and supported. We also found it difficult at times to feel a consistent leadership presence, as the studio owner was not often on-site and was never present at competitions. Greater accessibility could help families more easily address questions or concerns as they arise. Twelve years of commitment ended with our dancers being told they were the problem. Just one week before intensive summer classes were scheduled to begin, families were informed that the competitive team intensives were canceled and that competitive dances were reduced to only three. The timing alone was upsetting, leaving dancers and families with little opportunity to make alternative plans. Wanting answers, the dancers tried to speak with the company director, and the owner then joined the conversation. The students attempted to express how they felt and discuss the decision with both the owner and teachers. Instead of feeling heard or respected, the girls left the meeting devastated. Several came out in tears, feeling dismissed and blamed after years of loyalty and commitment to the studio. As a parent present that evening, it was difficult to watch a close-knit group leave with those feelings, and it highlighted an opportunity for leadership to better connect with the dancers and truly listen to their perspectives. Over the past couple of years, I also felt there could have been a stronger emphasis on technical development during regular classes. While competition routines showcased the dancers' strengths, some recital pieces did not reflect the level of growth I had hoped to see. After 12 years, we expected honest communication, professionalism, and respect. Instead, many families were left feeling hurt by both the decision and the way it was delivered. Ultimately, our family chose to move on in search of an environment that emphasizes strong communication, mutual respect, positive mentorship, and continued development. Despite how our time ended, I remain grateful for the friendships my daughter built and the positive experiences she had during her early years at the studio. Those memories will always be meaningful to us. However, the way this group of young women was treated at the end does not reflect the studio's motto of "More Than Just Great Dancing." Based on our experience, the studio may be a good fit for recreational dancers, but for those seeking growth and development at a competitive level, it may not currently meet those expectations.

There studio is at the beginning of a row of what seems to be warehouses and garage spaces. I got lucky and found a parking spot at the front of the lot. The studio space itself is charming and relaxing. I love the small lights they have hanging from the ceiling, and the temperature inside was cool and comfortable. There was an area to place our personal belongings, and the studio was clean and well taken care of. The class I went there for was done by a traveling group, so I won't go in detail about the experience, but I enjoyed it! I would visit this space again.

I'm totally convinced that Jessie is an alien- the way she infects people's spirits with her love of dance is definitely out of this worldly. I just finished a class she offered in Plantation outdoors, the neat thing was that about half of the class was entirely new, and the joy and smile on everyone's faces (I should add ridiculously sweaty faces) is just more evidence of how great Funk&Flow is! This year I am going to make it a resolution to make it out at least once a month for a class with Jessie, even though the studio is now a really far schlep from my residence. LISTEN- If you love music and/or dance you really should check this place out. Funk&Flow is a completely judgment free zone that is filled to the brim with sweet moves and good vibes. Do it!

First off, I'm not much of a dancer. Actually, I'm not a dancer at all…read more But I do love my wife and when she said we are going dancing, we are going dancing. Again, I'm not a dancer. We initially went to an introductory group class, led by our awesome instructor Shirley. I learned the basics of the Waltz and the Hustle. Shirley made it super easy. The class was... dare I say it... fun! But, I'm not a dancer. My wife and I decided to take some private lessons with Shirley. She's really great at making you feel comfortable out of your comfort zone. She challenges you but keeps the lessons really fun. She sees every little misstep and mistakes. Nothing gets by her. But she truly makes it fun and that hour goes by so quick! Thanks to Shirley and the staff, I'm proud to say, I'm a dancer now. Well, maybe that's a bit of a stretch. I enjoy dancing at least. Anyhow, if you've ever thought about dancing but thought it's too hard to learn, Stop by one of their group classes. The first class is free btw. You are guaranteed to have fun learning. Thanks again Shirley! We will be back!

I called up and spoke to Brad and Shirley who were very pleasant and very informative. We made an appt. and went in the following week. Met with Shirley who was wonderful. Makes you feel very at home and relaxed. We were very pleased with the teaching style and location was very nice and close by. We didn't sign up for the package that night, only because we didn't want to commit with so many thing going on and our time crunch but we discussed going back for sure! I highly recommend this dance center.
