Zucchini's is one of the nicer restaurants in Navan. The service is very good and the waiting staff are very attentive (I'm pretty sure every staff member of staff visited our table at one stage, which wasn't bad, just unusual). I had the goats cheese three ways to start, the spring roll was delicious but I wouldn't be too mad about the other two servings, as the cheese was served as a mousse on both. For my main I had the tagliatelle with wilted spinach, which I found slightly bland and way too creamy. For dessert I had the chocolate and hazelnut brownie, and asked for it without ice cream or cream. It was extremely rich but absolutely delicious. The menu states everything which is gluten free, wheat free, vegetarian and vegan. Overall I would recommend Zucchini's if you are looking for a nice spot to dine in Navan.

I visited this restaurant as a recommendation from a local while visiting Newry for meetings. I…read morereally wanted to try traditional Irish fare so I was a little disappointed when I saw nachos on the menu but I decided to give it a try anyways. They have a lot of different menu items so I decided to ask the server for local food items. She advised that the mussels, calamari, haddock and ribs were local so we opted for a large bowl of mussels and regular size plates of haddock and ribs. They had a lot of interesting choices from all around the world but I like to taste the local ingredients when in traveling. We got the mussels in the white wine cream sauce and I was very happy with that choice because they were so fresh and almost sweet. My dinner companion was not happy that this mussel was tiny. It didn't bother me. The Haddock boujons were perfectly cooked and crispy. They came on top of a little mashed potatoes with mushy peas. For the final plate we got the ribs. They were heavenly, I almost want to say the best I've ever had. The reason. Why is because the meat was tender like butter. The flavor was delicious but it wasn't heavy or heavily smoked like the libs in the USA. They were like air. Not sure if that makes sense but it's the best way I can describe it. For dessert we got the Bailey's cheesecake. It was so smooth that it was like a mousse. Soooo good. The house wine was an insanely good Sauvignon Blanc. The service was great. They were very attendant. The ambience is casual which I liked. The only negative mark o can give is that the beer on draught is German. I was dying for a pint if Irish beer and had to settle for a bottle. I would recommend this restaurant. Everything we had was good

This is my second time here and I can say that while visiting this area I would come back again. Meals looked lovely and well presented. I went for the Beer battered fish option on lunch menu and my request for mash potato instead of the frozen chips was honoured. Unfortunately potatoes cold and even the warm dish they served in didn't improve temperature so I just had to eat some mash with every bite of fish so the meal wasn't spoiled. Not that I would have wanted the potato microwaved but they should have been tasted or checked before serving. Fish was oozing grease so had to soak it off both sides with the napkins. Fish should have been left to drain off a bit while the potatoes were being warmed. Anyway my sons huge Buttermilk Burger & chips went down a treat. Loved that tea came in a non drip teapot but would have been nicer with a spoon of sugar. After seeing my son drop 2 sugar lumps trying to retrieve them from a tiny jar that teaspoon didnt fit in put me off having any, especially realising that only little fingers could fit in that jar and wondering if the lumps fall out on others 'do they just pop them back in jar again'? More hygienic way of serving sugar should be looked at. Having seen the dinner menu I am interested to go back again and give the Hudson Rooms another try. The ambiance, pleasant staff and competitive pricing has warranted at least another visit with higher expectations.

Relish Cafe - The veggie stack was the vegetarian option back in 2018. Then it changed to the vegan taco - also good!

Great location with outdoor seating over the beach (3.5/5 green stars)…read moreI just reviewed the Relish café at Southgate in Drogheda so I'm taking a trip down memory lane to review this Bettystown branch of Relish. I've been here twice over the last few years and both times it was an enjoyable experience. Coffee drinks were good (better than the Southgate branch) and my veggie dishes were very tasty too. Probably the best thing about this branch is the outdoor seating that looks out over the beach. A few years ago I had the veggie stack for lunch but I think that has been replaced by vegan taco. Nice to see a totally vegan option on the menu (and some vegetarian options too). I'm also giving Relish Bettystown 3.5/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact. * They have a reasonable number of vegetarian/vegan items on the menu but could do with a few more. * Most of the meat dishes contain chicken, which is more sustainable than beef. * They use free-range eggs and organic bread for the French toast. * The website says that Relish uses "fresh and seasonal ingredients from local suppliers" but could be a bit more forthcoming with details. I wrote to them for more info but didn't hear back. For a few items, such as cheeses, they do name their sources. Would be nice to know where things like coffee beans come from.
