I also treated myself to a small tub of feta-stuffed olives. Yum! As we sat in the sunshine sipping our coffees (with soy milk if you please), we discussed the health benefits of tannins (any excuse for that caffeine hit or to uncork a nice bottle of red) and marvelled at the vibrant colours of the pansy violets that peered out at us from the cutest little flower pots.

Overall the atmosphere is relaxed, the surround inviting and there are lots of interesting pics to look at (and buy). Minus points for forgetting to deliver the coffees we ordered (the place wasn't busy!) but other than that a nice wee spot for a bite to eat.

The menu for dinner was price fix but you could just order a part of the menu rather than a whole two or three course dinner. We decided to order one two course dinner for the two of us and shared. The staff was friendly and helpful. I ordered the roast chicken with dressing and potatoes and a swirl of squash. The dressing was so wonderfully savory with flavors that blended beautifully with the moist chicken breast with a hint of crunch from the bit of perfect crispy skin on top. Delish! My wife had some trout that was smoked and chopped with a bit of onion and spices. Also wonderful. We ended with a fruit and homemade organic ice cream crumble that was filled with freshly cobbled fruit. It was a perfect meal to end a beautiful day in Ireland.

The mixed veg was a nice addition. As the veg was hot it made the meal more hearty than your usual salad. For breakfast I was feeling hungover so decided to go for their 'traditional' breakfast rather than one of the healthy protein filled options on the menu. The breakfast comes with homemade brown bread or toast and tea/coffee. The highlight was the tasty sausages!
