Quant restaurant with spacious seating and plenty of light. We came in for lunch and ordered the coriander carrot soup and tandoori chicken. All was excellent.

I read about this restaurant from a 7 year old guide book. It was just down the street from our B&B. After walking throughout town, we went back to this corner bistro near the river. SO glad we did. My dinner was one of the best I've had all week. We did the "early bird" 2 course fixed price (available all day evening during week) The soup of day was nice, the mushroom bruschetta was flavorful and good, my main was a bit spicy, filling and perfectly seasoned with a light vinaigrette dressing. The potatoes in Ireland always are prepared so perfectly. Obviously a lot of locals eating here, which says a lot.

A great spot for lunch after visiting Sean's Bar! We split the salad and the burger.

Left Bank Bistro delivered an amazing dining experience! I chose to do the 2 course early bird menu. You can choose a starter and main from a preselected menu, if you are still hungry you can do a 3 course menu by adding a dessert. I ordered the butternut squash salad and burger and they were both tasty selections. I was excited to see that they had dead centre beers in cans too so I ordered an oatmeal IPA and pale ale.

Very tasty seafood chowder with a lot of salmon and dill. Sandwiches were good too. Very interesting salad with lots of unusual ingredients, but delicious. Dear Sir/Madam, I…read morehave never left a place feeling so unsatisfied and uneasy about a situation before. Today the 8th of December my friends and I went for a ladies lunch in Poppy Fields's when we got there we were seated and happy. About 20 minutes had a passed and no one had taken our order , we completely understand they were busy and it wasn't an issue whatsoever, to save the lady coming out I said I would go inside and go to the till to put our order in as I walked in I was met with the lady who rudely said to mr go outside I'll take your order out there it's to busy, I said no problem but it was rude and aggressive and the tone she used made me feel uncomfortable and shook. Shortly after the same lady came out to take our order and as she was leaving she slammed the menus on the table next to us loudly and with force. A while later our food had arrived. As she was giving us our food she said and I quite "no pepper " I said that's me and proceeded to hand the plate she implied was with no peppers to my friend and my friend said "no sorry that's not mine" and I said "I thinks it's mine I got it with no peppers" she turned to me in the RUDEST manor and said "yes you will have to wait" I was shocked and uneasy my friend turned to her and said" you are being so rude " and she said rudely , cheeky and just so smart "I'm not being rude" "am I being rude " and we just could not believe that this happened we didn't even finish our food we left in shock. We went to the till to pay for our food and the lady was so sweet behind the counter she said "if you guys are ever in a rush on your lunch just let us know we can accommodate you" it wasn't that we were in a rush it was that she was so rude and we understand it's lunch hour, rush hour and it can be stressful but it really left us unhappy and made us not want to go back ever again. Really disappointed and frustrated over it.

When we left our apartment, I mapped us to Oscar's as I had read it was a great seafood restaurant. I popped in the door, no reservation, asked about a table. The front person, said, we just had a cancellation, the table is yours! Sweet, great timing. It was busy and buzzing in the restaurant, great vibe! Our server, Ilya, was on us quickly offering g drinks etc. A couple glasses of wine and a couple beers, both were OK. We ordered a couple specials and recommended dishes on the menu. Every dish was amazing. Cooked perfectly, sauces and seasoning was perfect! All aspects of the meal was delicious, cleaned our plates. Very creative seasoning, African influences, unique spices, etc. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant if you can get in.

First, service was top-notch. We didn't have to wait for anything and our server was pleasant, helpful, and made great suggestions. I started off with oysters. They were the best I have ever had! Better than Maine, NYC, CT or even New Orleans. These blew me away. For dinner we ordered off of the specials menu. My daughter had the Sea Bass with sweet potato and Zhoug. I had the Grilled Aran Lemon Sole. Both were delicate, delicious and expertly prepared. My daughter ordered dessert and a cappuccino, and I had a coffee. This was the only place in all of Ireland that served real cream for the coffee when asked. No place else had cream, so I was in heaven. I have already told all of my friends that when I go to Ireland they have to stop at this place. We have a favorite restaurant in Dublin and now we have a favorite restaurant in Galway.

Too much traffic, glass bottles dropping (crashing) in to a bin. Could've done without that, startling every time someone dropped or threw a bottle in. On to the rest of the experience. We got set very quickly, upon verifying our reservation. Took too long for the server to come around and off us anything. Got our drink order in, drinks cane pretty quickly, bottles of beer and a pour of wines. Food orders got in shortly afterwards, with the wait time not taking too long. Our group ordered the Tempura Prawns, Grilled Hake with mashed potatoes & broccolini, grilled hake with chips & broccolini, seafood linguine. Everything was prepared nicely and tasted quite good. Good volume of food too, nobody left hungry. The service... not that great. Really took away from the overall experience. Not engaging, not explaining dishes, kinda cold! Took multiple tries to get their attention. Not a complete showstopper but could definitely use improvement. Cheers.

This was my favorite restaurant because of the AMAZING seafood. The raw oysters were super fresh and it was fun getting to see the manager show us how to shuck oysters (he used to compete in oyster shucking contest and was ranked pretty high!). The steamed mussels and crab claws were also delicious. Ending the meal with cheesecake was great! The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel like you are visiting a friend's home for a nice meal. Highly recommend checking out this restaurant if you are in the area and are looking for amazing seafood!

People after us were directed to the bar for open seating. The seafood chowder was rich and filling. Mixed oyster plate came with three Gigas and three natives (5 years to grow) but we couldn't agree on which was the best. Moran's featured half a dozen different cold platters and we ordered the smoked salmon which consisted of plate sized slices topped with a salad and a scoop of crab. The Marie rose dressing was delicious and made this salad one of our favorites of this trip. Lastly their Irish soda bread was the best we've eaten and wished we could've gotten a loaf to take with us. The good service, great food and eclectic ambiance made for a nice Easter Sunday meal.
