Very nice place to eat and enjoy lunch.
Ethan P.

This is such a wonderful restaurant when you drive by it's in a wonderful strip mall with lots of parking. I'm updating my review as the employees are amazing and very kind. They have gluten free options on the board selection which is great for people like me that have Celiac. The app you can make any suggestion and the employees will make sure that you're taken care of. The food is amazing and the drink choices are plenty. The interior is welcoming and highly recommend.

1/2 sandwich and 1/2 salad!

Updating my review after coming here consistently, this place is great. The owner is wonderful and the staff is so friendly. The food is always exactly how I want it and they are so accommodating. During COVID they have really made me feel like this is a safe place to go for lunch and to feel a little normal. Thank you so much for being a place that I can come to for some comfort!

Squash soup and five-grain bread

Delicious soups at a great price, friendly staff, and variety! I stopped here with a friend after a rainy day at the beach watching the waves. We were cold & soggy and nothing sounded better than soup, so we headed here, and it was a great choice. It's a little unassuming from the outside (being in a strip mall and all), but the staff were very welcoming and were full of great suggestions for us. They encouraged sampling of their selection of more than 10 soups, and even brought out some squash soup when they ran out of the vegetarian indian lentil soup that they previously had. The squash soup was delicious (warm, spicy, and filling) and my friend really liked the seafood chowder with his zesty chicken bacon sandwich. Overall a great place to stop & grab a bite to eat when you're looking for quick comfort food.

Cranberry salad (heavy on the blue cheese) and the maple bacon sandwich.

My family eat here last night. The staff was very friendly and I loved that they so many options. However, it was pretty pricey for what you get. We ordered a variety of different items between the five of us. The maple bacon sandwich was the hands-down favorite, followed by the salad with the cranberries and almonds. I like the lobster bisque from Walmart better, and the mac and cheese was nothing special. Love that they have cream soda!

I ordered the Maple Bacon Ham sandwich with a cup of soup. Friend ordered cup of soup and a pop. Bill was almost $24-pricey for what we got. Also, my sandwich was skimpy-two small slices of ham and 1/2 slice of thin bacon. I ordered it without the aioli, but got aioli anyway. I had asked employee for mustard instead of the aioli and was told they couldn't do that. Carpeting was stained in areas; some seating was ripped. Employees were friendly overall.

It's great to have another quick soup and salad place in the area other than just panera. Love the spicy crab soup.

The typical parking lot was fenced off so we had to utilize the street parking nearby. We were told to choose a seat and they'd be right with us. They only opened at 11am, at by the time we got there around 12:30 it was starting to fill up a bit already. My husband got the "in a van down by the river" cocktail, which I tasted, and we both agreed was delicious. For our appetizer, which we had never ordered one before from this establishment, we got the Wisconsin cheese curds. The sauce it came with reminds me of a good sauce for onion rings and was just as amazing on the cheese curds (it was called Sunny ranch I believe). We both got our usual entrees, my husband ordered a double smash burger and I got the atomic punk sandwich, both of which came with fries. My husband devoured his food, while my anxiety basically required me to wait until we got home to eat. I would definitely recommend stopping by The Brick House and grabbing a bite to eat. They have never disappointed us or the people we've sent their way.

The menu has so many interesting and tasty options that it makes it hard to choose what to order first. I got the steak bowl, which comes with an egg and plenty of sautéed peppers, onions and potatoes. Highly recommend. Even the drink options are exciting. Locally made cherry limeade?! Yes please! The ambiance is warm and welcoming, the staff is friendly. Even though you are in the middle of an open-concept business collective, the layout of the restaurant space makes you feel like you are in someone's giant, awesome home kitchen and you can watch as your meal is made. It took me a moment to put my finger on it, but this place gives you the reassurance that your meal is being made by people who enjoy good food. As someone who loves to cook and is on the tail end of a road trip, this was the most relaxed and enjoyable meal I've had in a while. I enjoyed it on so many levels. The restaurant is tucked away inside of a bigger collective of stores, one of which is Dad's Farm, a little grocery with a nice collection of packaged and frozen locally sourced foods. There are other shops in the collective including a coffee shop, brewery, cheese shop, wine shop, and gift shop with great art, cards, jewelry and other clever gifts. It's a nice group of shops where you can pick up some great souvenirs. A quick note about the entrance to the collective: it was not obvious to me, though I might have missed some signage. I was looking at the map on my phone, was on Pleasant St, and passed by the whole thing several times. I almost gave up trying to find it, but I could smell good food, so I finally took a chance on a tinted door near a coffee shop and was happily surprised to find I was in the right spot for Dad's Cafe as well. Give Dad's Farm and Cafe a try, I think you'll really enjoy it!

The food here is ok but apparently they want to lose a customer over refusing to refund an item…read morethat was not given, like I don't spend enough in their expensive store on a regular basis anyway. Or, I did. This person must really need 50 cents badly to actually ignore a customer and to refuse a refund. Your business will not last if you do not have the management skills to back up cooking skills. And this is a small area. When a customer asks you why you charged them something, they are not just asking. It is theft. I expect an answer when I ask that question. My receipt clearly shows a custom charge of 50 cents, for a side of sauce that I did not receive. It was actually supposed to be a dollar because I ordered 2 sides. I sent a message and was told that I was not charged, end of reply. I replied that I was. Instead of sending a refund, they sent me a copy of the current receipt that clearly shows a 50 cent custom charge on it. I am not the blind one here. I messaged again asking what the charge was for, if not for the sauce. No reply. I am also tired of tipping on takeout just to have no one check the orders and for it to go out wrong, no more. What is the tip for? It was 2 items, juice, and some sauce, not hard to get right. Tip in cash only if your order is correct. A normal response would also be to apologize for getting the order wrong to begin with. I have not received another response or a refund so I take it that they feel entitled to take money for items not given. It is not about the amount of money, just the audacity and bad business practices. Shameful behavior. There is nothing special about the menu here so something better will eventually take its place.

I will say that going into this I know it would be a hard sale as my grandmother is from that region, and I grew up eating gumbo, Poboy and red beans and rice. I also travel to New Orleans every few years so I am keen on the flavor profiles. On this occasion, we got the bourbon beef Poboy and a side of the Royal gumbo, which does not have crawfish in it. Overall, the experience was modest at best. I did eat my po boy which had a very good bread and also the bourbon beef itself was OK. I did not enjoy the gumbo at all. The flavors did not feel right to me, but maybe somebody else would enjoy this. I would give this restaurant a 3.5 out of five stars, I will say that the options were very affordable and the restaurant was clean. I also like the fact that they had choices of hot sauce and in the eclectic side options, such as chips from that region, and then also soda with sugarcane in it.
