The people are so sweet- while the building is in an odd location, the story behind the opening is so sweet! The food was tasty and the decor is super cute!

As much as I love the food at Happy Poochie, I do have a problem with the fact that my order is almost always wrong. I am not going to keep tipping on carry outs when they do not even pay attention to what they are giving you. If you have pop in your order, they often will just not hand out the pop and you have to ask. You know people order these things, so why not check the receipt before you hand it out? How else do you think people are getting pop when they refuse to give orders out inside and tell you to go to the window, even in the winter. I often order the same salad and today they just did not add the red peppers to it, why? The last time they put onion on a salad that said no onion. I hate red onion. It is always something. I did not pick up the order myself today so I could not check it. Look at the order both before and after you make it. My orders are always for 1-2 people, nothing big. Your job is to give out the correct orders, period.

The happy poochie made my poochie happy. They say they have soups but when asked about soups they said no soups ! little bummer but understandable ! Would be a pretty sweet if they could bundle chips drink and sammy all together. All around a lovely little spot with a cute backstory. Also thank you to the kind lady working the till !

Run, don't walk to the new Happy Poochie Eatery in Benton Harbor! I had a feeling I'd like it, but it exceeded all expectations for a healthy, hearty lunch. Sandwiches, salads, and soup with generous amounts of fresh, tasty ingredients. I'd love to see a "you pick two" type combo in the future, but my mom and I were able to split a salad and sandwich so I got to experience both anyway. Curbside service was so friendly, my husband said "I think I made a buddy!" Featured: Benton Market Salad, Hot Poochie, Cool Hand Cuke, Tomato Bisque

Hot Salami and the hot turkey both toasted

WOW what an honor to be served an Amazing sandwiches by one of the best automotive designers in the industry. He left his mark on Ford prior to the 2008 crash. He and his wife made the best decision to open the Happy Poochie . Rich Gresens and his wife Lori are hands on owners and take pride in their cute have an amazing, modern feel, up-scale sandwich place! They could use this photo on their menu. They look that good! The Hot salami and the hot turkey is why we had. The bread was to die for crispy on the outside and soft and delicious on the inside.

Hot Guac

Love love the Hot Guac. I'm not big on things that are too spicy but I could handle this amazing sandwich! The bacon was crispy!!

Food was good. However, the deal breaker for me was the location. Seemed very sketchy and unsafe. So won't be returning.

The typical parking lot was fenced off so we had to utilize the street parking nearby. We were told to choose a seat and they'd be right with us. They only opened at 11am, at by the time we got there around 12:30 it was starting to fill up a bit already. My husband got the "in a van down by the river" cocktail, which I tasted, and we both agreed was delicious. For our appetizer, which we had never ordered one before from this establishment, we got the Wisconsin cheese curds. The sauce it came with reminds me of a good sauce for onion rings and was just as amazing on the cheese curds (it was called Sunny ranch I believe). We both got our usual entrees, my husband ordered a double smash burger and I got the atomic punk sandwich, both of which came with fries. My husband devoured his food, while my anxiety basically required me to wait until we got home to eat. I would definitely recommend stopping by The Brick House and grabbing a bite to eat. They have never disappointed us or the people we've sent their way.

Whoa! TASTY!…read more Another lunch in Michigan with the in-laws. We selected a table, and were greeted by our waitress. Menus were provided (nice and big, lots of options). I ordered their Fair Warning which came with fries. My wife ordered their Mean Street, which came with Au Jus and tasty fries. The kids menu has such titles as "I Don't Know" (Chicken tenders), "I Don't Want That" (Grilled Cheese) and "I'm Not Hungry" (single Smash Burger). Not that we ordered off of it, but we got a laugh out of it all the same. From the moment you step in the door, you see all sorts of stuff. Old signs, old windows, this place has eye candy galore! Lots of stuff to look at. The front window sets the tone. Good Mood Food. All true. We enjoyed our visit!

The food here is ok but apparently they want to lose a customer over refusing to refund an item…read morethat was not given, like I don't spend enough in their expensive store on a regular basis anyway. Or, I did. This person must really need 50 cents badly to actually ignore a customer and to refuse a refund. Your business will not last if you do not have the management skills to back up cooking skills. And this is a small area. When a customer asks you why you charged them something, they are not just asking. It is theft. I expect an answer when I ask that question. My receipt clearly shows a custom charge of 50 cents, for a side of sauce that I did not receive. It was actually supposed to be a dollar because I ordered 2 sides. I sent a message and was told that I was not charged, end of reply. I replied that I was. Instead of sending a refund, they sent me a copy of the current receipt that clearly shows a 50 cent custom charge on it. I am not the blind one here. I messaged again asking what the charge was for, if not for the sauce. No reply. I am also tired of tipping on takeout just to have no one check the orders and for it to go out wrong, no more. What is the tip for? It was 2 items, juice, and some sauce, not hard to get right. Tip in cash only if your order is correct. A normal response would also be to apologize for getting the order wrong to begin with. I have not received another response or a refund so I take it that they feel entitled to take money for items not given. It is not about the amount of money, just the audacity and bad business practices. Shameful behavior. There is nothing special about the menu here so something better will eventually take its place.

I would probably get something else off the menu. Everyone else's food looked amazing! Our avocado toast came with four pieces. The toast wasn't toasted. We weren't able to pick up our toast. Lots of avocado which was great. We added an egg, which really covered one piece of toast. I would probably go with the breakfast tacos or omelette next time. The people were so kind! The coffee tasted like ground asphalt mixed with cleaning solution, and the latte was completely undrinkable. To top it off, there were flies crawling on the big, beautiful muffins displayed by the door -- definitely not what you want to see before breakfast. For $25 for two coffees and two muffins, I expected something special -- not a science experiment gone wrong in a cup. The service made things worse. We felt rushed out the door as staff kept stopping by every couple of minutes to take something away -- a spoon, a knife, a plate -- each on separate trips. It was absurd. Aesthetically, Clifford's nails it. But between the awful coffee, the flies, and the constant interruptions, it was an expensive disappointment. Beautiful place, but we won't be back.
