If you're ever in St. Joseph, Silver Beach Pizza is an absolute must! The location alone is worth five stars. It is right by the Amtrak tracks, overlooking Lake Michigan and Silver Beach. There's something magical about eating a fresh pizza while the train thunders by. It's part of the whole experience! It was easy making a reservation online for the upper deck. The views up there of Lake Michigan were great! The pizza was just as amazing! I was worried about the style of all the toppings being under the cheese but I actually really enjoyed it! The service style at Sliver Beach Pizza was rare! They have a circle at each table with a green and red side. The green side up means you don't need assistance/do not want to be distributed. And, the red side up alerts your waiter to assist you. What a neat idea! If you're ever in the St. Joseph area, looking for great pizza, vibes, and views book the upper deck at Silver Beach Pizza!

I grew up in St. Joe and remember picking up people with my parents from the Amtrak depot. It's very cool that now it's Silver Beach Pizza! We visit St. Joe in the summer and Silver Beach Pizza is always a stop during our trip. Parking is a doozy, but it is what it is. You can always park on the bluff and walk down if you don't want to deal with their parking lot. We got a table inside with air conditioning. The downstairs inside-outside patio was just too humid for us. I would have loved to sit upstairs with the views but that's adult only and we had the kids, plus it's open air as well. It was a very humid day and we're from the dry heat in Arizona so not used to the humidity. You must get a Schooner! My husband and I both got a schooner of Oberon. The cold frosty beer was perfect on the hot day. We ordered two pizzas, one Margherita and one build your own. We love the thin crust and the pizza cut into squares. It's SO good! They also have an interesting way to let servers know you need something. They give you a large circle disc, green on one side and red on the other. If you need something you flip it to red. It's like at a Brazilian Steak House but the opposite, green there means you need more food. Our server was great. Silver Beach Pizza is a must when in St. Joe!

All I can say is, WOW. I've had every type of pizza imaginable - New York style, Chicago deep dish, Detroit style, New Haven, and everything in between. While Silver Beach Pizza is difficult to categorize, it's nonetheless phenomenal. The pizza itself is a thin-ish crust, cut into squares, like a tavern-style pizza. The flavor is absolutely amazing. Service was fast, and the overall ambiance is very cool. They're located in an old Amtrak depot building that's been expanded, and they've got their parking situation figured out pretty nicely. This is now a go-to spot whenever we come back to St. Joseph.

We ended up here upon recommendation from another bartender. Our bartender said this was the spot all the cool kids hung out late night. We ventured to their upstairs bar with no reservation. Well it was packed and really no way of getting a seating for dining. We stood near the bar until two free seats became open. Once seated we could relax and mingle with the locals. Met some interesting characters but every one was friendly. For food we ordered the pizza. As a person that lives in Chicago, we take pizza seriously. Now this pizza didn't have the looks it was good. The sauce was good, the meat was plentiful and had good quality. The undercarriage was sturdy and not too doughy. Not sure what type of pizza this was supposed to be but it was good. We got the small which was plenty of pizza for 2 people. I can see why people hang here. Food and drinks are unique. They age a whiskey on-site. The views of Lake Michigan are fantastic. Additionally, the Amtrak goes right on by and makes a for fun train experience. If in St. Joseph, I would stop here again.

My friend and I enjoyed a late lunch at Silver Beach Pizza a couple Saturdays ago. We haven't been to St. Joseph before, but we were surprised to see a beach resort town. In hindsight, it should have been obvious since the pizzeria is named "Silver Beach", but no one was thinking that deeply. Initially, my friend and I were skeptical of the food at Silver Beach Pizza after seeing it right next to the beach since we thought it would be overpriced, subpar, and a complete tourist trap. While there were a lot of tourists, we were pleasantly surprised that we only had to wait 5-10 minutes before we got seated. The pizza we ordered also came out pretty quickly. PARUGULA (10" PIZZA) - 19 The pizza was definitely the two of us, and we were pretty full afterwards. The garlic and parmesan were really baked into the dough, which made me feel like I was eating the perfect cheesy, garlic bread sticks. It was phenomenal and shocking how good it was. The pizza was topped generously with shaved prosciutto, lots of arugula (to the point where it felt like a salad), and more parmesan. I'm not the biggest fan of arugula, but it went well with this pizza. Overall, surprisingly delicious and very affordable -- I definitely understand why this place is popular and would recommend giving their pizza a try!

Shocked in the best way. A pizza place on the beach can get away with making terrible pizza and yet they didn't settle for anything less than perfection. Some of the best pizza I've ever had. It looks interesting, and they have some pizzas with interesting toppings, but we got both the Sicilian and the Harvest and both were phenomenal! Bursting with flavor and excellent texture. Unfortunately we got them to-go so I'm not sure how to comment on the service or ambiance but the people were nice and quick, and it looked cute. Drove 2 hours to try this place based on a recommendation and my oh my it was worth it. Just don't get the calzone. Part of the joy is in the style of the pizza and the calzone takes that away.

We've been going to SBP for twenty years. Yes, we still love it. We've been to "more than a few" SBP events, rehearsal dinners, and birthday parties. This outing, however, we took our small group upstairs to the adult lounge. Great beach view, chill vibe, and (of course) great pizza. We keep our pies simple, double pepp and double cheese. When our server made an easy/understandable error, he immediately proposed a solution and "made it right." We appreciate him being so proactive. Yes, solid pizza, great salads, and apps (we also enjoyed the bruschetta this time around). We look forward to our next SBP pie.

We've been here plenty of times but somehow never left a review. Had our regular cheese and sausage (always awesome) and tried a seasonal pizza with squash, bacon, and gouda. I was skeptical, but our server talked us into it and it was surprisingly fantastic. Big ole schooners of beer sealed the deal. So many great memories here through the years with my kids.

Obviously an out of towner, this place was a bit tricky to find, parking was ample once you found it. We had a large group, which they were able to accommodate immediately. Great seating style with lower and upper level seating. Our server was great, handled a large party without issues and kept regular check on us. We opted for several pizzas for the table to share. All had their own unique flavor, but the crust remained consistent. Great crust at a mix between a thin and cracker. Not overbaked at all all the pizzas had great flavor. And don't forget the views! Pretty good spot!

We were visiting the area for a weekend get away and the family recommended to come here for some good pizza and that it accommodates our large party. When we arrived here from the beach, we actually walked, which was not too far. Good thing we had reservations because we came here on a Saturday night. It was packed and a lot of people were waiting for their table and others were take out pizza by the boxes in a take out window and yeah there was a line to pick up. Don't mind the looks of the building it kinda looked old rundown train station building. It was next to the railroad the decor inside looked modern. We were greeted and quickly walked to our tables in the back it felt like a private room, and the other side of the room was outdoor dining area we had a nice gentleman that handled two tables of 10 like a champ! Friendly guy and we were able to split our check which was nice because we could pay off the table with a QR code as well. We ordered mozzarella sticks, which everyone really liked it was breaded and came out hot and fresh, we ordered the salad that had mixed greens as well as head lettuce with ranch dressing. The pizzas that we ordered in our group was the sausage and mushroom pizza bite size sausage, barbecue chicken was sweet with sweet baby Ray barbecue sauce pizza, and margarita pizza which was the table's favorite with fresh chopped basil on top. The crust was really unique. It was thin and crispy, and the cheese seemed like it was part of the crust with crispy edges. I didn't know what kind of pizza to expect but this was really good. There was a mixture of cheese and not just mozzarella, my guess maybe Parmesan baked into it. It had to be other types of cheese on it the sauce was sweet and thick enough to hold the pizza in place not like some pizza joints when you take the pizza and the cheese and topping falls off the crust I hate that. They were pretty quick but the pace of getting our drinks and then the appetizer, and then our pizza was spot on. The waiter came by a couple of times, which was great to refill our drinks and asking us if everything is OK. The place can get loud, especially when it's busy which I enjoyed talking to our friends and family around us catching up. Even the bathrooms were clean there were two stalls that were private in the women's bathroom. Everyone seem to be so friendly around us love the environment and I enjoyed my dinner overall. I'll definitely come back here again when I'm in town.

The pizza here is ridiculously good. It is not a friend of my waistline lol. As we were arriving, so was one of the owners. He was kind and considerate, just as the staff. It's a busy family friendly environment. It's a tad bit on the noisy side, and that's all the families. The build your pizza is top notch. It's better to share this tasty pizza with someone. The pina colada was like having a sip of summertime.

The Garlic Greek Pizza & Margherita Pizza

Our first stop on this year's trip to Silver Beach in St. Joseph was, as always, Silver Beach Pizza. We've been coming here for decades, and ever since they added the rooftop lounge with reservations for sunset views, it's become a must-do tradition every year. This time we ordered: The Garlic Greek - classic pepperoni with a twist, topped with minced garlic and crushed red pepper for just the right kick. Margherita - olive oil base with fresh mozzarella, sliced tomato, basil, and minced garlic. (We added anchovies to half--perfect balance of salty and fresh.) The pizzas were exceptional--crispy, flavorful, and piping hot. Classic Chicago tavern-style done right. Honestly, it may have been the best it's ever tasted, and that's saying something after dozens of visits over the years. Our server, River, was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and quick. The vibe was lively without being overwhelming, and the sunset view from the rooftop was absolutely gorgeous. All in all, the perfect first night in our happy place getaway. Silver Beach Pizza never disappoints, but this visit set the bar even higher.

Parking situation is a bit confusing but food was delicious. I got a small pizza and small wedge salad and I couldn't finish both of them. I loved the thin crust on the pizza and it was loaded with toppings. The service was quick, very friendly, and attentive. Highly recommend!

Ask the Community - Silver Beach Pizza

Do you still have the bloody mary brunch?

We have the $5 Bloodies until Memorial weekend at which time they go to $8 for the season. Hope that answers your question!

Is the waitlist for upper deck and lower or just lower? Any chance at sitting upper deck without a reservation on a Thursday evening?

It is best to have reservations. You may get in no problem without but the upstairs is a very popular place. But for sure trying to find open bar stools to sit at. You do not need reservations for those. Enjoy1

What's the parking situation? If I'm parked at the beach is it easiest to just walk over?

Yes! Especially this time of year the Silver Beach parking lot reaches capacity QUICKLY. It's best to park at the beach or at the top of the hill.
