Horrific experience. Long story short, (after an hour there-all tables in my section before us still not served and all complaining) we tried to switch order to go and pay for food before it was out due to the super slow service. No one would take payment. Told me they would send my server to get my payment. When that didn't happen went back to find a staff or a manager, TWICE. Eventually the host said she would go check on my food to see how long (still not taking my payment) she eventually came out of kitchen 10 minutes later to say no way my food would be ready anytime soon (this was at the 75 minute mark). 1/8/25 First of all Suzee was spot on and answered questions about our first try at the burgers (I know-wings restaurant but wait) which were excellent-better than most of the local burger joints. When I asked she gave advice on the extra chilies (very hot) and suggested I have them on the side. Asked about beer and she made a suggestion which I tried and was very good (the house Kolsch). 5 stars all the way! On Sunday July 21st I went with my bestie to BWW in St. Joe after going to the racetrack in South Haven.  I ordered the Pepper Jack steak wrap, she got a burger and we got a small order of wings to share.  He asked me if fries were ok and I asked about the chips and salsa because according to the menu wraps come with chips & salsa while the sandwiches come with fries.  "Oh well you can get fries with the wraps"....no thanks I'll take what's on the menu. It felt like my food was taking a long time when it hit 3:05 but i hadn't remembered how long we'd been waiting.  I checked in on Yelp and we still didn't have our food at 3:20.  So we already felt the wait was long but 15 minutes later we're still waiting.  Our waiter just simply sat our refills of water on the table and didn't address us at all.  At this point he still hadnt given us his name. When our food finally did come out, he had put ranch with our wings instead of the celery we requested.  Also, being extremely sensitive to heat, the sauce did not taste like mild buffalo.  More like spicy garlic which has a similar color- I seriously thought they may have mixed them up.  He did check for us (which was the first attentive thing our waiter did) and it was just a mild sauce so I guess we're just real babies about spice. I enjoyed my wrap a lot and the salsa was ok, but not anything fantastic.  The burger was decent according to my bestie.  Maybe a bit too much mustard but otherwise decent. Towards the middle of our meal our waiter did pay a bit more attention, but they could improve their customer service by leaps and bounds.  I specifically had been avoiding this BWW because I'd hear from some local food review pages on Facebook that the service was hurrendous.  However, recently I'd heard they turned it around. Apparently those people were lucky or liars because the service we got waa far from even average. Kids like to go here but I always warn them of slow, bad service but we went anyway. When we first entered, nobody was there to greet us. I had to stand around staring before somebody said they would be with us. Kids ordered their wings and they came within four minutes. It was strange because it seem like they just threw them in the microwave and put sauce on them. Nasty wings sent my kids to the bathroom. Stale and nasty. Fries were butt cold. If you're on a road trip, don't stop here. Showed up at the tail end of lunch rush at 1:30 and we didn't get our food until 2:15. They were short staffed in the front of the house and probably in the back too. The wings and brisket sandwich were good however the kids meal mandarin oranges were fermented/spoiled. The waitress seemed less than concerned however she did bring a fresh replacement and offered to take it off the bill. We didn't want our $6 back, we wanted an apology and for them to take the health code violation seriously. They did not. Why can't I rate zero stars? My wife and I eat at BW3 restaurants in Canton and Westland MI at least once a week. Maybe service in Eastern Michigan is better because there is so much competition, but apparently this particular location doesn't have this concern, because their service has been ridiculously poor since they opened, with no resolution in sight. It doesn't matter if you go to the bar, the main counter or the take-out counter, you will always wait 15 minutes for someone to even acknowledge your existence. The last time I went to the bar, there were a half dozen patrons waiting for drinks with no bartender in sight. After 10 minutes I had to go to the kitchen door and ask to be served. The last time I went to the front counter, I stood there for 15 waiting for attention then had to grab someone who was bussing tables just to get seated. Last night I was at the take-out counter (after ordering online to minimize my exposure to this awful location) and again, nobody was staffing the counter. People were lined up out the door (past the employee in her dirty BDubs t-shirt leaning up against the door post checking Facebook) and still no attention. MULTIPLE employees walked past, glance at the line out of the corner of their eye, and just kept walking, even when people were trying to wave them over. Not a single "welcome to BDubs", "sorry about the wait" or "someone will be right with you." No training on customer service, and totally invisible management staff. In this case (and it was not the first time) I had to CALL the main number, wait a dozen rings for someone in the back to pick up (it was almost comical watching them all scoot past the phone at the front desk and pretend they didn't hear it ringing) and say "Can you PLEASE send someone to staff the front, the line is extending out into the rain!". Finally some poor girl comes out of the back, after apparently packing someone's order by herself (why is a hostess doing this???) to get my name (eventually, as I was third in line) and tell me my "pickup at 8:10" was actually a "pickup at 8:25." I did get my food, although it looked like it was prepped by children, the potatos were soggy, and the paper bag with ranch and celery was actually just three containers of ranch. Please, someone (besides the owners of this one) open up another store in the area! I'll drive another 20 minutes just to NOT visit the St. Joseph location again. From the other reviews, it looks like the owners think they have a lock on the market, so they don't have any concerns about addressing the problems here. REALLY wish I read the reviews before coming here. Not very busy for lunch but only had one server and one bar tender on. When I ordered my food, the server asked me what side I wanted. The menu stated what I ordered came with fries so I had assumed that's what I was getting so when she gave me the option, I go to look at the side option and said I wanted Mac & Cheese but apparently that isn't an option and she starts rambling off what options I had which was just over complicated. Then it was pulling teeth just to get sweeter for my tea. Then there was apparently a call ahead order that slowed everything else down. I'll preface this by saying I've been to nearly 150 BWW locations across the US and Canada. And I've probably been to this particular one 40 times over the past 2 1/2 years. This one isn't the worst, but definitely in the bottom 10. The biggest problem is the kitchen - they just don't seem to care about speed, accuracy or quality. You're likely to get something slow, wrong or gross on any given visit. The bartenders are usually pretty attentive but sometimes a little overwhelmed. I've only ever sat at the bar, but the dining room is fairly small and well-staffed (though the floors are usually pretty filthy - the urban demographic tends to bring in a lot of small children). Weirdly, this location chooses to keep the lighting very dim in the bar area, and most often only plays weak music in the background, giving a pretty low-energy vibe. You're only likely to get any TV sports audio during a major local televised game. The patio is never used. If you're here for Buzztime trivia, there isn't much of a trivia crowd, even for the headline games. But they do have the latest Playmakers, which is a plus. On the other hand, they almost never have trivia on any of the TVs to bring in new casual players. All in all, this location is pretty much like Benton Harbor as a whole: avoid if possible, make the best of it if you have to be here. read more
