We have gone to Friendly's for years when we lived in town. Came in town for Mother's Day. Last minute thought to get dinner with family. Easy St. was packed and we thought let's go to Friendly's. It will be our last time ever going. They weren't busy, the place was actually empty and the waitresses were all just standing around. That should have been our first clue to leave. Our waitress acted like she could care less that we were there. She never asked if anyone wanted refills or anything else to drink the entire meal, didn't bring someone's salad, didn't ask if anyone needed anything. We had to keep asking a bus boy to find our waitress. I had to send my meal back. Something was wrong with it. I didn't ask for it to be replaced. Just went without. Another person from our party was then up all night in the bathroom with an upset stomach. The prices have gone up which isn't new for any restaurant but costs up, portions down, tastes horrible and crappy service, that I won't do. Won't be back until there is new ownership. Where's Ray when you need him?! That's the only thing that might save this place. read more

Jessica was a wonderful server. Great personality and attentive. We each had the fish & chips. It was lightly breaded cod, cole slaw and pub fries 3 PCs of cod and it was lightly breaded and not fishy tasting. There was an ample serving of fries. The fish & fries were very freshlyade & hot when brought to us. I hesitantly say that while the fish was good it wasn't exceptional. We were told about the special they have on Friday the all you can eat cod so we had to check it out!! Wow we are so glad we did!!! I loved the whole atmosphere of this place!!! I love the old building!!! Courtney was our server and did an amazing job keeping the food and drinks flowing!!! Now the French onion soup was spot on I am not an onion soup kinda girl but my hubby is and we both loved it!!!! He says it's the best ever I agree!!! The cod was breaded perfectly and was so delicious!!! I absolutely loved the sweet potato fries!!! My hubby had the black and blue salad which was perfect the salmon was amazing!!! A close relative has a cabin on nearby Lake Paw Paw, so I am slowly working my way through the nearby restaurants. I am really puzzled why this was described as having many vegetarian options, because I saw few on the menu. I will do fish occasionally and was excited to see trout on the daily special. Quick service! We got the steak and shrimp dinners with French onion & potato bacon soup. French onion was excellent, potato bacon tasted scorched. I must say, I'm disappointed. I have been going to The Friendly Tavern for about 20 years. It's been about a 5 year period since I've been there and recently decided to go back. I'm not sure if within that time frame the owners have switched or just the kitchen but the food was terrible! We got fried pickles as well as a blackjack burger. The pickles were a large serving, but covered in grease and oil that left you feeling sick. Then the burger was similar. Oily and the actual patty tasted like a frozen patty they placed on the grill. Nothing tasted fresh and all of us were left feeling nauseous with half the food thrown out. I've been a customer for years like I said, but this unfortunately may have been our final visit. read more

Me my sister and bf went there to go eat and we all got our food it looked rlly good everything tasted right until my sister started pulling bugs out of her salad it was absolutely disgusting and I lost my appetite so me and my bf got our food to go we told them the situation and we didn't complain we just wanted them aware of the situation they took our drinks off the bill and made her a new salad but we still proceeded to pay $65 for the food now my sister had a fruit salad so it like had apples, walnuts, tangerines when she opened it up all her food was rotten I didn't call to complain it wasn't abt the money it was the fact we had to pay for something that was infested with bugs the salad was $14 the least they could've done was take the salad off the bill and leave the drinks on there but I will not ever eat here again read more
