While staying in Benton Harbor on business, I tried out Joey C's. The service as fast and friendly and placing an order over the phone for pickup was easy. I ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza, an Italian Julienne salad, and Buffalo sauced chicken wings. The pizza was really good. Nice dough, generous toppings, and good tasting cheese. Not much to say here, other than...good pizza. The Italian Julienne salad was delicious. The capicola and salami on it were delicious and the rest of the ingredients were fresh and delicious. Now the not so great (one-star taken off). The wings were small and dry. They were sauced really well, but the wing meat itself was dry as if it was over fried. But oh well...everything else was really good. Give this place try...not the wings though. read more

Pizza should be cooked MUCH more as the dough doesn't seem fully cooked under the sauce. The bottom of the dough is cooked but the top of the dough under the toppings absolutely needs about 10 or more minutes in the oven. Kinda mushy. Not well seasoned either. Hard fail for me. I gave a 2 because the Italian sausage was decent. read more

While Joey C's is known for their pizza, and I can attest to the fantasticness of their pizza, the pasta I tried tonight wasn't quite as good.  I still haven't tried their sandwiches which I hope to try next, and their pizza is amazing like I said.  However, the salad that comes with the pasta is reminiscent of a bagged salad and like most places I get pasta from that also serve pizza, the noodles were on the oily side.  I definitely will keep coming here for pizza and anything with bread and cheese, but I most likely won't order pasta from here again.  Joey C's does also have consistency when it comes to having good workers and if they ever did have a bad employee they weren't around long enough for me to notice.  If you love pizza I would definitely come here. read more

I have heard several people absolutely rant and rave about Joey C's. My family finally gave it a go and to be quite frank, it's the worst pizza I've ever paid for from a pizza place. We got the bacon ranch and the combo. There is a massive lack of sauce on both. The topping are overboard and the crust is just down right tough. As in you have to use your neck to help rip it. I hate wasting food and will likely try to make them taste better (ranch??) but I am not impressed. Dominos/Papa John are cheaper and a WHOLE lot more tasty in my opinion. A gem in southwest Michigan. The pizza is great, but we love the pasta so much, we rarely get around to ordering it. The meal comes with a salad, that is always so fresh, and a great tasting bread. The sauces on the pastas are exceptional, the best marinara I have ever had, and the meat sauce is just as good. read more

Finally, a decent cannoli. I miss all the Italian bakeries in RI/MA, took it for granted all the years I lived there. I found cannoli at 2 other places nearby and they are awful and not fresh filled. A little taste of home right here. Good homemade meatballs and sauce on spaghetti. Good bread with the Joey C sub but get the oil and vinegar on the side. It is put right on the bread, making it soggy, the only negative. Salad dressing is good. Very friendly service. I will give the lasagna a try sometime. I did stop in another time for the amazing meatballs and also got the chicken alfredo, which was sadly inedible. It was overcooked and very mushy, bland chicken, oily bland sauce. It was a waste of money and not good by any standard. Tried the pizza slices on another visit, pretty good. read more

We got the Saturday special with pepperoni & sausage pizza, meat sauce pasta, salad and we added a cannoli. I have to say this was the greasiest pizza I have ever had. As soon as my husband opened the box he said "you're not going to like this. We all thought the pizza was good. The pasta sauce was good too. What stood out for me was the cannoli with crushed pistachios. It was delicious! The call ahead service was easy and our meal was ready when I go there. The Saturday special is a great value! I really like this pizza. It's a favorite and I prefer it over any in the immediate area that I've tried. I have to say that I'm not usually a fan of sausage but I do like theirs which makes it easier to order pizza with a group. I also like that they take the time to punch holes in the top of the pizza box to help prevent the hot pizza from getting steamy soggy. If you haven't tried this pizza, you really should give it a go. read more

Checked the reviews because we don't know the area very well. I am glad we did because we really enjoyed our pizza. We got a basic pepperoni but the sauce and the dough were good. It was even a great snack later when it was cold. I got a side salad and appreciated that they weren't skimpy on the olives. We will get this again when in the area! read more

Best pizza around. Puts the major pizza chains in their place. Their combination pizza is down right AWESOME. My wife was next door at the dental office and could smell the pizza and asked the receptionist where it was coming from and she told her next door. Ordered the combo and the sausage was great! Had to dock a star here though because the crust was not crispy--due to the abundance of toppings, the crust was softer than it should have been and would've held up better if it was par-baked. Will definitely come back and try one of their 1-2 topping pizzas. I'm sure the crust would be more cripsy with less toppings on it. read more

This pizza was really good. We've taken out pizzas twice from here and they were super. Definitely has the "Capozios" taste to it for the old-schoolers. One note: The first time there were holes punched in the top of the pizza box and the crust was really good, the second time there were no holes and the bottom of the crust was 'wet' and kind of soggy. Great Pizza, we will go back and have been there a few times. My only problem we have is that we have ordered a Poor Boy with Pepperoni a few times, and the crust and pepperoni was burnt. This is a 'separate' pizza that we order for our young son, so this can be an issue. We thought it was a fluke the first time so we just 'dealt with it'. But I checked it the second time we ordered it, and it was burnt again. I talked to the lady there and she said next time I order it, to tell them to take it out early. Which, if someone is checking pizzas, that should be what they should be doing and I should not be asking for it. So, we may have to order a small pizza with one topping. Other than that, we love their pizza, the toppings are generous and very fresh and the crust is spot on. We live out of state and can't get pizza like this where we live. Keep it up, but watch out for burnt Poor Boy crusts. read more

Really, really good pizza. We had a sausage and a 1/2 pepperoni 1/2 cheese. The sausages were good sized and a little spicy. Generous on the toppings and reasonably priced. No dine in but they do have seats if you opt to wait. We only waited about 15 minutes. We were a little unsure about the area when we pulled up. Stopped in for a sub in the afternoon. A little dingy, but nbd. Cashier wasn't especially helpful when I told her it was my first time in. She just handed me a menu and kind of stared at me, waiting. Haha Explain the menu, tell me your favorite, something. She seemed annoyed, even though I was the only one in the store. We were chatting while I waited for my "Joey C's" sub, and she stopped mid-conversation to check her Facebook profile. Seriously. Have a two-minute conversation with your customer. It's my first time, make sure there's a second. Sandwich was pretty good. I would put the o&v on the lettuce instead of the bun, just straight red wine vinegar on the bun made it soggy. Onions cut very thick. Bread was nice, though. Tomatoes were beautiful. Good sandwich, but nothing to write home about. Shocked they use a huge styrofoam container, when a piece of butcher paper will do just fine. I'll definitely try the pizza, because that seems to be their specialty, but the poor customer service knocked the whole experience way down for me. read more

Great pizza! We ordered a pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom pizza. The toppings were piled on and covered the entire pizza. Ours had thicker crust. We also order garlic Parmesan Chicken wings. I am not usually a wing fan, but my husband is. I really liked them. Packed with flavor. We will definitely be going again. One thing to know- We we're unable to put a tip on our credit card. Definitely a carryout spot only. The inside has only 1 table with 4 chairs and about 3 extra chairs for waiting. Definitely has a "mom & pop store" kinda feel to it. So great for picking up food to bring home. But man is the pizza good! I got a 14" mushroom and onion pizza and it was very tasty. They're generous with the toppings. Priced pretty well, the pizza would have been $15 but I got it on the "two topping Tuesday" deal for $12. Highly recommend you eat here. read more

Forget that it's the BEST pizza this area has to offer, their marinara sauce made me let out an audible DAYUM! I could (and did) eat the extra sauce at the bottom of the plate with a fork. After branching out with our last order and trying the tomato bread, I found myself thinking I can't order from here and NOT get the tomato bread, it's fantastic... and now I find myself thinking the same about the marinara. So what, now I have to order pizza, tomato bread AND some kind of pasta with marinara every time or I feel I have somehow cheated myself out of pure, unadulterated deliciousness??? Not fair!
