This is such a wonderful restaurant when you drive by it's in a wonderful strip mall with lots of parking. I'm updating my review as the employees are amazing and very kind. They have gluten free options on the board selection which is great for people like me that have Celiac. The app you can make any suggestion and the employees will make sure that you're taken care of. The food is amazing and the drink choices are plenty. The interior is welcoming and highly recommend. read more

Delicious dinner, large portions, quiet ambiance, friendly service. Enjoyed the new menu options, did not get the pimento on the Mac & cheese (by request) but loved the new sauce/cheese base they recently changed too. It was creamy and smooth and flavorful. My pork to Mac & cheese ratio was perfect and the new chicken salad sandwich was great. We'll be back! read more

Soup is watery and selection is down. This used to be so much better. For what they charge, the quality is definitely down.

After a week of carbs in the form of pizza and burgers, salad and soup sounded like a fantastic combination. Enter Zoup! Walkable from downtown, this emerged as a great option for lighter fare. Their menu has several main categories with numerous options nested within each: soups, salads, sandwiches, and mac & cheese. I opted for a choose 2 with a small serving of BBQ chicken noodle and half a cranberry salad sans cheese. Great flavors, quality, and freshness all for around $10. Online ordering was a breeze and my items were ready for pickup on the shelf. Employees were friendly and store was spacious. read more

So. Slow. For a place with pretty much everything pre heated/pre ready, it falls very short of being an option for quick food. Soup options sound enticing but always taste mediocre. On a rainy chilly day don't be fooled. It's never worth it. About once a year I try again and am reminded it's slow and not very good. read more

I've introduced my parents and my husband to Zoup. My mom doesn't eat red meat and is prone to eating vegetarian options, so she was thrilled at all the options. My husband on the other hand hates veggies and he was also able to find a sandwich to satisfy his hunger. I personally love that the soups rotate everyday. I've enjoyed the broccoli cheddar, the chicken pot pie, potato cheddar and fire roasted tomato. The cranberry almond Sonoma salad is delicious and I love the raspberry vinaigrette dressing. My husband loves the maple bacon ham sandwich but my favorite sandwich is the pesto 3 cheese. The workers are extremely helpful. My parents, my husband and I all wanted to sample some soup before deciding and the employee was patient with us and let us sample before ordering. Biggest downside is the price. Seems like you don't get much sandwich for the price and the soup is fairly high in price too. I do love this place and will continue to come here, but sparingly. read more

Updating my review after coming here consistently, this place is great. The owner is wonderful and the staff is so friendly. The food is always exactly how I want it and they are so accommodating. During COVID they have really made me feel like this is a safe place to go for lunch and to feel a little normal. Thank you so much for being a place that I can come to for some comfort! read more

You'd think for how expensive their food is, it'd be top tier. It's just soggy sandwiches with little to nothing special about them with a soup for 30 dollars. Thankfully they also add rock hard bread on the side, cuz I'd hate to not have a piece of cement to wash down my water dipped sandwiches and 2 spoon full of soup. After all of this you're lucky to have anything left in your account for a drink, but if you got it like that, then treat yourself to a child size drink. All that said though, the staff is really great! Really great customer service and always smiling and happy to let you sample any soup you want. Bout the only thing that tricks me to go. read more

Delicious soups at a great price, friendly staff, and variety! I stopped here with a friend after a rainy day at the beach watching the waves. We were cold & soggy and nothing sounded better than soup, so we headed here, and it was a great choice. It's a little unassuming from the outside (being in a strip mall and all), but the staff were very welcoming and were full of great suggestions for us. They encouraged sampling of their selection of more than 10 soups, and even brought out some squash soup when they ran out of the vegetarian indian lentil soup that they previously had. The squash soup was delicious (warm, spicy, and filling) and my friend really liked the seafood chowder with his zesty chicken bacon sandwich. Overall a great place to stop & grab a bite to eat when you're looking for quick comfort food. read more

Zoup! Eatery - Squash soup and five-grain bread - Salad Near Me - St. Joseph, Michigan

Loved everything about my visit! Staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was fresh and well prepared. I ordered a sandwich and salad, which also came with a small slice of bread. There were a lot of items to choose from but I quickly identified what I'd like most. Very tasty! 10/10 would recommend this place for a quick and easy lunch! There were a nice amount of seating options as well. read more

My family eat here last night. The staff was very friendly and I loved that they so many options. However, it was pretty pricey for what you get. We ordered a variety of different items between the five of us. The maple bacon sandwich was the hands-down favorite, followed by the salad with the cranberries and almonds. I like the lobster bisque from Walmart better, and the mac and cheese was nothing special. Love that they have cream soda! read more

Our family was visiting the area and called in an order for pick up at 7pm for 7 sandwiches on Saturday evening. Assuming they would be able to complete the order in 30 minutes, we stopped by to pick up the order. To our surprise they only completed half the order in that timeframe and there were no customers in the store and there were no other to go orders (the two employees working confirmed). We waited another 20 minutes for a total of 50 minutes for 7 sandwiches on a non-busy hour. Beyond the wait time, the sandwiches were sparse on the meat/other toppings and bread was hard. I wouldn't go back to this particular store and instead choose another sandwich shop in the area. read more

I ordered the Maple Bacon Ham sandwich with a cup of soup. Friend ordered cup of soup and a pop. Bill was almost $24-pricey for what we got. Also, my sandwich was skimpy-two small slices of ham and 1/2 slice of thin bacon. I ordered it without the aioli, but got aioli anyway. I had asked employee for mustard instead of the aioli and was told they couldn't do that. Carpeting was stained in areas; some seating was ripped. Employees were friendly overall. read more

My go-to lunch spot! It is quick, yummy, and easy to get to! The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. I love that they offer samples of the soup before you make a decision. They rotate the soups daily too. They have great options of the 1/2 soup, 1/2 sandwich. This place hits the spot on a cold SW Michigan winter day. Parking is easily accessible and there is always seating available. Overall very satisfied with this quick lunch joint! read more

Love this place. They take great pride in keeping their place clean and neat. The food is excellent and the service is, too. This is the best place in town on a cold Michigan day! read more

Simple, quick, a little overpriced, but gives you that warm and toasty feeling on a cold day, with a soup and sammy combo. Yum!

Stop in here for a pre dinner meal. The place is large and clean and the staff was friendly. We tried the lobster bisque in the bread bowl. The soup was good but differently not the best lobster bisque I have had and the bread again was good but a bit too sour for my taste. I'll try a sandwich if we return. read more

Not much to say, but Zoup was pretty dang tasty! It's a standard soup, sandwich, and salad place. It's similar to a panera but more homey. The Staff was friendly and let me try a few soups before deciding what I ultimately wanted, which was nice. I'd recommend one of their bisques or a chicken fajita soup if they have it. The cookies were also delicious. The one downside to this place is that it is pricey for what you get. I thought it could have been a bit cheaper, or have some value combos. It's possible I was just broke when I went, so it seemed more expensive than it was ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. In any case, it's still a good option if you're looking for some good soup. read more

Great bowls but a bit overpriced! The portion/price needs to be adjusted or stick to soup menu only!

The food are very good but expensive depending on how much you want to eat. However, your money will be well-spent and worthy for these delicious food. Trust me on this. I had a Chicken Pot Pie soup and a Southwest Turkey Sandwich ( foot long ). I enjoyed them very much. Savoring every bite, taking my time, and enjoying them. I strongly recommend that you should go there. Great place to dine in and relax and enjoying your food there. read more

I am a drug rep so I get to stop at server all places in my travels.I have not been to this Zoup since the end of September 2016 and something has changed. The attitude of the staff is not sincere-they used to greet you-now I'm lucky if they make eye contact with you, the restrooms were dirty(the fan vent is dusty),and the table I sat at was sticky with crumbs on the booth seat. There was no genuine hello, no small talk, no thank you! I feel like all the small town charm this place had has disappeared since the last time I visited. It was like walking into a completely different restaurant and not a good one. One of the ladies working (she had glasses) was the only one hustling. The rest only had one pace and I think it was speed one. I worked in retail/restaurant in college I could see exactly what was going on. There was four staff behind the counter semi working and attending to customers while one sits in the back. Plus, the staff were more invested chatting about that instead of giving customer service to there paying customers. I literally sat there with my soup that looked watered down chicken pot pie (Thank goodness I asked for extra pie crust on the side to soak it up) and a laptop watching this all go on. Why? Because I could hear their personal struggles loud and clear from where I was sitting. My last review of this place was a 5 star and I am giving them a 1 star. Because I have seen them at a 5 star level and this was no 5 star level. I am adding on to my review----------- I just recently visited due to a work meeting that my colleague selected to meet at half way only to be disappointed again. I'm glad work paid for this meal because I would not of paid for such bad service and WATERED down soup. I stopped using them all together for catering orders last year. The orders were always missing something. It is very disappointing since they were really good when they first opened. read more

This place is very noisy and hard to hear your name to pick up your food. Staff is friendly other than a few unhappy faces. Sandwiches are excellent but sometimes the bread is smooshed and very tiny for the price. Bathrooms are clean. The main house is clean. Wifi is cool. Very salty soup. Sometimes my soup is cold. read more

Evening snack. We had a couple soups, lobster bisque and half sandwiches, ham and turkey. Service was very good. We will be back!

I absolutely love your soups, but you all need a quick lesson on customer service because h.o.l.y fuck

Worst dine-in experience of my life. I got a disgusting sandwich, for which I asked for no tomatoes, and of course they gave me tomatoes. Naturally, I took the tomatoes off and put them on my acquaintances plate. He then proceeded to throw the tomato at my face. In a sullen rage, I got up and ran to the car. This was one of the worst days of my live. read more

To start on a positive note, the staff at Zoup has always been friendly and helpful. After many visits, however, I don't know that I'll return unless it's just to be social and go with friends. Every soup I've tried is INCREDIBLY salty -- the last time my friend and I both had Mushroom Bisque and neither of us could finish it because the mushroom was so overwhelmed by the salt. As shown in their nutritional data, some of the 8 oz. servings have 1200 mg sodium! Hard to believe no other reviewer mentioned this. With all the little dietary designations (GF, LF, etc, etc, etc) I would expect there to be one for Low Sodium, since that concerns many people. On one visit, there was a piece of chicken bone mixed in with the salad. Would also like a choice of sides other than bread, bread or bread. I'm not a huge Panera fan, but at least you can get an apple or chips. read more

I'm pleased to announce that the owner of Zoup contacted me by phone and followed up by email concerning my review. I must say it made me feel important and not just another order. I would have rated it one star but the employees are always friendly. The quality of the food is very poor, all the soups are shipped to them frozen and then reheated. Also all their hot sandwiches are microwaved, very disappointing to say the least. The cherry on top is small portion sizes at steep prices, Step it up zoup! read more

The prices are too expensive and the food isn't good enough to warrant such high prices. The soups lack flavor and are overlooked. The salads and sandwiches are run of the mill and don't justify the cost.
