North Atlantic Salmon

Good food and worth trying out. Of course, if you're familiar with Occitan, you'll know parking is a challenge. The staff are friendly enough and the setting is casual. I had the falafel platter and my wife had the salmon.

Gazpacho
Anthony N.

Was walking around the Occoquan area, and saw Zorba's, so decided to give it a try with a friend. Unfortunately, was quite disappointed. The Food: I went with the Chicken Souvlaki for my entree, and a Gazpacho for my appetizer. I was disappointed with how little effort they put into making the dish. I paid over $20 for a dish that was plain and bland, with very few pieces of chicken. The meat was cooked nicely though, tender. But for somewhat premium prices, I would've expected a little more effort into the dish. The Gazpacho tasted fine, but again, overly priced appetizer for a little amount of food. The Service: Service was decent. We were greeted when walking into the restaurant, and was sat down immediately. The staff were very nice and friendly, but the service itself wasn't on-par. It took longer than usual for our food to get out, and mind you, it was not busy during lunch. But our patience ran thin after about 35 minutes and when we saw the food, it was quite frustrating. The Atmosphere: The restaurant is nice and small. Has a decent amount of seating and is very well kept/clean. It's nicely decorated with simple decor. There's outdoor seating as well, if the weather permits. Overall, a 1/5. Not a fan of how overly priced the food was, compared to the quality and quantity of what you get.

We didn't think the food stood out as spectacular and was just ok Greek food. The menu online isn't the same as at the restaurant which was less options. The gyro tasted like you can get it anywhere. Service was slow even when we were the only ones there. Only one lady who seemed to be the wife was working. Cute location cute little house restaurant; casual ambiance.

Great tasting greek food, no complaints. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get in my opinion. The service was a bit slow, but shortly after we sat down there was a rush of people coming in and there was only one server, I won't be knocking down a star for this. We ate outside and the ambiance was wonderful. It's tucked backed in a little courtyard and felt super cozy. Definitely recommend!

Please give this family owned a chance to show how great their food is! They have fresh food, great service, simple ambience and a cute facade! The owners are very attentive to their customer's needs and very pleasant! I would really come back here for Greek cuisine that others near the area that are imitations of authentic food.

Mixed Mix Grill

Ordered the mix grill, all the meat was perfect tender and seasoned. Cheesesteak and chicken pita were also great.

$14 Rueben had 2 tiny pieces of meat $13 spanakopita had 3 tiny pieces $7 baklava looked nothing like the ones posted here and only a small amount

Greek Sampler
Lauren M.

I ordered through Door Dash. The positives were the dolmades in the sampler. That had great flavor. But that was about it. The rest of the sampler was blah, I would not recommend it. I definitely do not recommend the spanikopita, not sure how you mess up spinach and feta, but it wasn't good. I had the Pastitsio. It was ok. The meat flavor was what I expected. The pasta was fine. The sauce was fine. It didn't make me want to go back. Whatever you do - do not buy the Greek potatoes. Hard as a rock and they had no flavor. I have since read some of the reviews on here, and an overwhelming amount say the potatoes are undercooked, so I'm not sure what's wrong with the restaurant that they can't improve one simple thing that had been a complaint since they opened. I won't be ordering from here again. I hear the ambiance is nice - so maybe I'll stop by and have their dolmades and calamari - which I read in the reviews is really good. Cheers.

I got the combination.

Deliciousness - 5/5 Happiness - 5/5…read more I've been here a few times now and always left happy and very full. The best Italian restaurant in the area hands down. This is definitely an old school Italian place, with dark wood furniture and oversized pasta portions (no complaints from me on that!). The pasta is always cooked exactly right (it's really hard to do pappardelle right as it's such a big noodle and can easily become a wet mess that tears apart on your fork, but each noodle here stayed together and didn't break apart), and the sauces are distinct and flavorful. From the standard sauces like alfredo, to the unique like a lamb ragout, they have deep flavor that keeps you eating until your stomach says no. The waiter was friendly and attentive, engaging my kids as much as me. We also went with the bruschetta, which was tasty (particularly the mozzarella) but I wish had at least one more slice of bread to serve as an appetizer for four. I wasn't overly impressed with the mixed drinks, but I didn't go there for that either.

Whether I'm there for brunch, lunch, or dinner, I have to order the mussels in garlic white wine sauce every single time. I still haven't found mussels that beat Trattoria's, and I've tried quite a few, even in Maine. If you're indecisive about your entrée, don't worry. I promise, no matter what you order, you're going to love it. The pasta is freshly made, and you can truly taste the difference. Their espresso martinis are also one of a kind. The staff is always attentive, welcoming, and makes the whole experience feel special. From the outside, the restaurant may look small, but once you're inside, there are different rooms, multiple floors, and even an outdoor dining area that feels like it transports you straight to the streets of Sicily. This place is truly Italy on a budget, and if you get addicted like I did, don't say I didn't warn you.

When I called, they were not super busy and the hostess easily reserved us a table for our arrival. I ordered their signature dish, the homemade tagliatelle with Bolognese...I have to say that I was disappointed by the Bolognese. It wasn't made with the traditional beef/veal/pork mixture. It was made with an Italian spiced sausage. The flavor of the Italian sausage dominates the dish. It's too strong. I hope management reads this and possibly makes a change. The rest of the food was good as usual. Our server did a good job.

I've been wanting to try this place for a long time and finally got my chance. I got there around…read more2:00. It wasn't very busy, maybe two tables. Since I was alone, I just sat at the bar. It's a small restaurant in a shopping center very nicely decorated. My server Elmer greeted me right away with water and a menu. He explained that everything is homemade, even the desserts. The menu isn't huge, but it has a good variety across the board. I looked at the specials first l, I wish my wife had been with me because the salad special sounded great and we usually split one. The entrée specials also sounded really good. I was already thinking to myself I'd probably be back if this meal was solid. I usually order chicken parm when I go out for Italian, but I wanted to switch it up, so I went with the lasagna. Elmer told me I'd enjoy it and said the noodles and sauce were very good. Someone brought out bread with a garlic and oil mix. The bread was excellent crunchy outside, soft inside. The garlic and oil was good, but I'm more of a butter guy. I like a lot of butter on my bread, especially bread like that. When the lasagna came out, it looked amazing. The person who brought it asked if I wanted Parmesan cheese. I said no thanks I don't like changing the flavor unless I taste it first and feel like it needs it. First bite.....Excellent. The sauce had a lot of flavor, the noodles were tender, and there were a lot of layers had to be six or seven. Not like some places where you get three or four and mostly cheese. I ate the whole thing and used the bread to clean the plate. Elmer and the other servers kept checking in to see if I needed anything. I like seeing that kind of teamwork where everyone helps out, not just their own tables. Makes for a better experience and you're never waiting around if you need something. When I finished, Elmer asked if I wanted some of the "apple cobber." Funny thing -- when I first looked at the dessert menu, I noticed that typo and wondered if that was really the name. I asked him about it and he said it was a mistake and hadn't even noticed. I was surprised no one caught it before. I asked for the cobbler to go, but he actually recommended the tiramisu instead, so I took his suggestion. Later that evening I tried it and it was superb. Even my wife, who doesn't like coffee, liked the bite I gave her. While we were talking, Elmer gave me a sample of their espresso martini. I'm not big on cold coffee drinks, but it was actually pretty good. Definitely something I'd order there. Overall, one of the best Italian meals and service I've had and I'll definitely be back. I just wish it was closer to home if they opened up in Prince Frederick in Calvert County, I think they'd do great. Right now all we really have is Ledos Pizza

Make sure to read the full description of each menu item as the short title doesn't do it justice. I ordered a braised short rib with risotto dish, which was amazing! But the short title was just "risotto", which I would have quickly dismissed without my friend mentioning the short rib in the description. We started with the calamari an appetizer. It had a nice crispy breading. They had deep fried jalapeños with it, which paired nicely with the calamari. Never had it like this before. The dish came out with a very generous portion of risotto and a large short rib on top. The rib was so tender that it fell right off the bone and you didn't need a knife to cut it up. So flavorful! The risotto was well flavored and have a nice creaminess to it. I could have shared this plate as it was very rich and filling. Service was admittedly slow, but I attribute that to our large group on a Wednesday evening.

So we drove a good 30mins to get here, with anticipation from seeing this restaurant on a travel channel, but the original location is in NY. We get there, and its plenty of free parking. We ask for seating for 3 and we are told they are only seating individuals who booked a reservation. Totally understandable considering its Valentine's day. I dropped the ball folks. I didn't make a reservation. So I noticed a bar lounge which we were told we could wait for a seat to open up. As we were waiting a coupled jumped in front us and took a seat. The manager Claudia came to the rescue like the dark knight but with more grace. She mentioned she was willing to put us on the list for a table in the main dining area. I accepted her kind gesture and continued to wait for bar lounge seating to open up. A couple was kind enough to come over to us and ask if we were waiting for bar lounge seating. They offered their table to us as they were ending their night. There was a 2 man band playing in the lounge area that was very soothing to the ear. As I tried to help my mother get comfortable at the hightop table, I noticed she was having a difficult time getting seated in such a high chair. Guess who came to the rescue, you guessed, Claudia! She's the best, 100 grand, made me a real fan. So she came over and said our table was ready if we wanted a booth seating and we all know that's the best seats in the house. All I could think is look at God. The wait wasn't even long either. 10 out of 10 for saving the day. In addition our waitress was such a sweetheart. I mentioned a white malbec I saw on the menu that I was astonish to see b/c I never knew of such a thing. She bought me a small glass to taste and my God, I am a true believer Jesus turned water into wine. Its so clear like water but the taste is amazing. The food is so delicious. The restaurant is very clean. The staff is very personalable. Everyone cartered to us. You would have thought we were the Obamas or something. As we were stuffing our faces, Claudia comes around handing out roses to the men/boys to give to their dates. Complimenting my son and his daper outfit she hands him a rose and tells him to give it your mommy. At the moment he lights up with a big smile as if he paid for the rose himself. I can tell he felt like a gentleman and good that he could give his mother a red rose on Valentine's day. That small gesture was very thoughtful and appreciated. I apologize for my essay, but they desired it. I love the service, the ambiance, the food, and service. I haven't seen my mother smile so much in a while. So it bought me great joy to give my mother this experience on Valentine's day. I thank Nonna Angela's staff for such a wonderful experience.
