She always looks like I'm abandoning her on the median strip of the Mass Pike. Gentle Grooms was the 3rd groomer I tried, and I'm so thankful my friend recommended sandy to me. Sandy has a calm ,soft manner and a soothing voice. It works! No whining, crying from nervous nelly. She's wagging her tail and beautifully coiffed with bows when I arrive. I travel 35 minutes from Metro West just for the services at Gentle Grooms. It is well worth the drive.

Robin's Nest was the perfect place to bring our baby pup, Maggie for her first official groom…read more Robin and her team were beyond accommodating, communicative, and thoughtful. Since it was Maggie's first time, they offered her a special early bird slot at 8AM to reduce the stimulation of potential other dogs in the salon during later appointments which was an extremely thoughtful suggestion on their part. We arrived promptly at our appointment and the team was all ready to go. After the drop off, they kept us updated via text about Maggie's progress and temperament in addition to estimated completion times. She was ready to go within an hour and a half which was amazing! Once we arrived for pickup, we almost didn't recognize our fur baby because she was so well groomed! Maggie was playing with two other dogs that were scheduled to be groomed which was the best indication of her happiness there since she's still adjusting to learning how to interact with other dogs. She was even a bit sad to leave her new friends! Overall, the cost was extremely competitive for the area and I imagine Maggie was much happier at Robin's nest lounging in the window and playing with the other dogs while waiting than she would have been in a small crate alone somewhere else. On top of all of this, Robin and her team saved a little envelope of Maggie's puppy fur for us as a keepsake. We truly couldn't have asked for a better experience not only as pawrents, but for our baby girl's first grooming trip as well. We'll absolutely be returning in the future and recommending to all of our pawrent friends!

Golden Paws Review…read more "We love you so much! You are absolute saints! They took my elderly dog in for grooming when he was no longer mobile, and our own groomers, whom we had gone to for his entire 12 years of life told us they couldn't take him anymore. And it was during the pandemic, when schedules were tight, and we just can't thank you enough for taking such good care of our old boy. He comes out looking dapper and shining white. They even lifted his 80 lb body gingerly out into my car, no questions asked. They made him comfortable and beautiful, letting him keep his dignity in his elderly years. You are amazing, compassionate, and excellent at your job. Anyone would be lucky to go here. Thank you. Thank you. "

Our longhaired mini dachshund has a lifelong terror of dog groomers, and will start whining and…read morepractically trying to jump out of her carrier as soon as we get within a block of one. And no one in the family wants to even TRY clipping her nails at home, because she gets so panicked and squirmy, we're afraid of accidentally making her bleed! But we've gone twice now to the Wizard of Pawz, and the second time, she was soooo much calmer with getting her nails trimmed! Her back was shaved 2 months ago for spinal surgery, so they did a nice job of trimming the rest of her fur shorter to help it blend in. And the shorter trim on her legs (which usually look like she's wearing fluffy 80's legwarmers!) help so that her fur isn't getting tangled/matted or full of ticks when she's out in the taller grass! The staff are so sweet and friendly there -- you can tell they just adore dogs. We will be back for sure!

I came here for a hair cut in Dec 2020 and was disappointed with the cut (she just did not go short enough and didn't honor a perfect Yorkie cut like I asked for). HOWEVER the Manager/owner of this place (don't know his name but the friendly young guy who works here) was responsive and allowed me to come back with Puffin to try for a second cut at no cost. After a little bit of back and forth we got in for a cut on January 26th and were VERY happy with the groomers trim; she did a nice cut around his face and eyes, and also under the belly. They did their best to MAKE IT RIGHT and also have a lovely array of dog treats + food. Also great text message reminders and calls re: hair cuts and apts. Also, they allow you to park in their parking lot while you walk around fresh pond if you do not have a cambridge permit. lesson learned for myself to be better at communicating to the groomer what I want, and this place did five stars for customer care/service and treating Puffin well. Thank you! Tamara
