We used to play here but the courts are so cracked up you never know where the ball is actually going to bounce. Court two has a crack/bump that is so big, it could be used to teach kids how to jump a mountain bike. The folks who actually still play tennis there have replaced the term "Mulligan" with "Overman." an example to be used in a sentence would be, " dude, that ball took such a weird bounce, just take an Overman" We joined Newcome so we could actually play tennis.

My husband, Phil, and I waited for 3 years for this wedding because of COVID. At first, it was going to be at Wedgewood Brittany Hill in CO, then it got cancelled because of COVID, then Wedgewood Carmel in CA when things started to reopen, and finally we moved it to Hofmann Ranch because my mom is struggling with complications from her double knee replacement surgeries that were postponed because of COVID and she couldn't fly to CA. The day before our wedding, Southwest cancelled Phil's best man's and his wife's flights, Phil's cousins' flights, and my friend's flights and my uncle had to drive all the way from San Diego the day before the wedding. We were beyond worried and devastated. Because of the Hofmann Ranch team, we felt so secure and so loved and our families and friends were able to meet each other for the first time and connect with each other. Britney thought of everything: making sure that my mom had a place to sit so that she could march with me halfway down the path of the patio deck, she held onto my train, she made a water color Phannie drink sign that was gorgeous, she made sure that we ate, she thought of every single detail and schedule change when our families kept talking and singing (this is what happens when you get a whole bunch of Filipinos together LOL), she made sure that Phil and I ate food, and there are countless other things that I am sure that we don't know about. Giving Britney my bouquet was the only way that I could say how grateful I was for creating a magical place and experience in spite of all the obstacles. Phil and I are so thrilled and feel like we were destined to be married at Hofmann Ranch. You have a special place in our hearts. I hope that your mother liked the bouquet. We wanted to get married before he left and Live Oak Vineyard made that happen for us. Luckily the venue was available December 16,2017 which was 3 weeks away. Letti and her crew were unbelievable! Within 48 hours after calling her and explaining the situation, she found a date that worked for my family and FH's. She questioned me about cake design and flavors, flower options, colors and everything you could think of. The next day she had picture samples of bouquets, cakes, center pieces and catering options. By the end of the week we had caterer booked,flowers, center pieces and cake ordered. She also found us a wonderful Officiant,bartender,and DJ. Luckily the photographer I booked was available that day. They pulled it all together and in 3 weeks time. I don't know if what I had been planning in almost a year in advance could have been any better than the miracle Letti pulled off. Basically all I had to do was find a dress and show up. It was the wedding I dreamed of, even though I had my doubts about everything getting done in so little time. My family also rented out the Guest House on the property which was wonderful and very convenient. I can not thank Live Oak Vineyard, Letti and her team enough for the perfect memories they gave us.

She made a 70 page PDF packet (WHAT!!!) of all the wedding venues that fit our budget and aesthetic in Austin for our budget. (We are based out of Chicago, so this was a destination wedding by all accounts.) Bethany hosted countless phone calls with myself and my partner about design palettes (she even made a slideshow for us to help visualize) and helped us through some really difficult vendors. For example, AFTER we booked a wedding venue and paid deposits, the venue CLOSED with just a few months before the big day. Bethany sprang into action and found us an even BETTER venue. Also, we booked a flight into Austin to work with a caterer, and he cancelled last minute. Bethany, again - the super hero that she is - found us a better caterer, and even scheduled a tasting during the time when the original vendor left us hanging. She came to both of our fittings, as this was a double bride ceremony. She talked me down from my personal freak-out about dress choices. She made a budget, a schedule, e-introduced all vendors, kept a very rosé-drunk "I Do Crew" (sorry about that) on task during our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner with grace and a smile. She made great suggestions (taking 15 minutes to ourselves post-vows, the flow of the wedding, etc) and was always by our side. She shoo'ed people away so we could have our last private dance, and was warm and welcoming throughout. I cannot even begin to tell you how amazing she is. This zoo is so organized They have several cooling stations or options to go indoors to cool off They have artists who did face painting or drawings of you. This will actually be the 3rd time to the SA zoo, but now it deserves a review specially for consistency. Parking is pretty easy to navigate and I'd say it's fairly close to the zoo. I would say they need to provide more disable parking options. Gorilla, Giraffes, Hippos, Crocodiles/Alligators, Rhinos, Black Bear, were the main attractions, especially with it being scorching hot! (I don't blame the other animals for not being out directly in the sun honestly) a plethora of exotic birds too! The gorilla was my favorite, the ones SA zoo has are super majestic looking and you get really great views of them too. It's easy to get around the zoo because there are a lot of signs that clearly tell you where to go, plus maps, and employees to assist. They have plenty of air conditioned areas and also water mist areas to get rehydrated and to take a break from the heat. They have a good number of eating stations to get something good to drink or eat. SA zoo gets a B+ for consistency and good number of animals!
