We had such an amazing experience today at Natural Bridge Caverns, and so much of that was thanks to our incredible tour guide, Sophia. She was unbelievably knowledgeable, engaging, and truly made the entire tour special for our whole family. Sophia was especially wonderful with our kids and made them feel included and excited throughout the tour. At one point our youngest got scared, and Sophia immediately stepped in with so much kindness and patience that she had her smiling and feeling safe again within minutes. As parents, that meant so much to us. You can tell Sophia genuinely cares about what she does and about the people on her tours. She made the caverns come alive with fascinating information while also making the experience fun, relaxed, and memorable for everyone. Very pleasantly surprised with how amazingly beautiful this cave was! We just nonchalantly booked a tour here to do something for the day. Turns out, we absolutely loved it. Our tour guide, Michael, was super friendly, ensured our safety, made sure our girls had a good time (along with everyone else), and kept our tour engaged with hilarious humor! Price was good, staff was friendly, service was great, tour was as a good hike (should've worn shorts), and we had a wonderful time. Bring the family! You'll have a wonderful time. Tips: 1. Wear shorts and be ready to walk up and down, so wear those tennis shoes with decent grips. Gets a bit wet at times. 2. Don't follow Google maps that may lead you to their service road. Visited Natural Bridge Caverns and did the Discovery Tour. It was an impressive experience from start to finish. The caverns are massive and well lit, making it easy to see all the formations without feeling rushed. The tour guide was knowledgeable and explained the history and geology in a way that was interesting and easy to follow. Walking through the chambers really gives you a sense of how big and detailed everything is The paths were well maintained and the pace of the tour was comfortable. Had a wonderful experience at the Natural Bridge Caverns, all the staff and tour guides are very informative and friendly. It's a beautifully persevered place with a lot of history, and the formations and breathtaking in person. After my first visit, I noticed there was more than just a tour. They offer yoga in the caverns as well as an adventure park. I had the opportunity to come back and attend yoga class 180 ft below the ground. It was a beautiful event, such a unique experience, and a wonderful beginner friendly workout. It's the perfect place to bring your family, friends visiting town, and I can't wait to come back to try their adventure park next. Tip: wear sneakers with good grip, the caves grounds can be naturally wet and humid. And the tour includes inclines and declines while walking. read more

Great History, it's more modern as it's fairly new but the cavern's been there over century's ago. Our tour guide was Kate, she was nice w/ her cave puns. Get the Groupon deal in advance if you can and if it's available for half the price but it depends on the date though. Discovery and Lantern Tours are only a few dollars difference just depends on what you're going for and they said it's pretty similar. Though the Discover is great for first time and the Lantern is more coz you carry an old lantern like back in the days. The one we did was the modern take. David, Our tour guide was pleasant and gave us plenty of time to take it all in. We only did one tour, which was about an hour and a half but that was a good amount. We held a team building event at Natural Bridge Caverns and it was an absolute blast. There is a variety of things to do including ice skating, a Christmas Lights display, Ropes Course, and 2 different caverns to explore among many other activities. All of the employees were very helpful especially down in the caves where they explained the history and provided fun facts. For me, the caves were the highlight. I started with the larger cave and while it was definitely physically taxing (especially the climb out) it was well worth it. The sights were breathtaking. The smaller cave was more conducive to those who aren't as physically fit as it had a conveyor belt at the end to bring you back out of the long tunnel. There is still a significant amount of walking in small areas but again definitely worth checking out. read more

One of the most amazing places I have been too..Makes you wonder what still hasn't been discovered under our feet... Very well paved and the handrails are a life saver...the descent and ascent is still tough, but benches and such to take a break...I have had a knee replacement and am not in the best shape and I had a lazy 5 yr old with me, (LOL)...and we made it...Everyone should see these caverns...My grandson also did the geode splitting which we loved and the bags for fossils...He would have loved to do the climbing , but gma is too chicken...Really a fun place for all ages....Only downfall, our tour guide had a very heavy accent so I heard quite a few saying they couldn't understand her....also the group was quite large...so would have been better to limit to a smaller group read more

I had been to this Cavern system before for the Discovery tour and we wanted to come check out the Natural Wonders cave tour. This one has you go down into the cavern down over 180 stairs (I think, it was a lot.) but the caves are beautiful. They have hand rails throughout so it was easy to climb down. They do have a ramp and a escalator conveyor belt which broke down a few times. I made the mistake of getting off thinking I could make the climb out. I could not. It's like a 60 degree incline and looks easier than it was. I was helped out by the guide and an employee on a cart. Still though the caves are beautiful. The bathrooms in the visitor center on the other hand not so much. Also, I was disappointed to see the $10 charge for parking. read more

Only came for Twisted Trails and the only negative thing I have to say is that I wish a ticket came with more time!!! Your 45 minutes goes by soooo quickly, especially if you spend most of it on the first level getting used to being in a harness and in the air. Speaking of the harness, it's full-body and you're connected to the structure at all times, which is very reassuring. Try something new and adventurous!! read more

I can't believe it has been so long since my original review. We had been here a couple times since 2010 but I guess I never updated before. We went here to show the kid the caves and she loved it. It was worth every penny. The natural cave tour is a cash machine and prices are not cheap, but the enjoyment factor makes it all worthwhile. I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because they have started charging for parking in certain spots. Actually, the parking has become confusing but from what I understood if you park by a pay sign you have to pay and the rest of the lot is free. Who would choose to pay when there are free spots is not clear. I guess the idea is to charge for parking if the lot is full and some people have to take what is left over, i.e., a pay spot? If that is the system, that is ridiculous. So the parking situation and its murky system is the reason for a one star reduction. Otherwise, the experience is outstanding and perfect for kids and even teenagers. One more tip: the gift shop is incredibly expensive, at least the things I looked at. Is everything from China and subject to Trump's tariffs? read more

There 's a lot to do here and it's a wonderful place for a family visit. One attraction that we didn't visit here is the animal discovery park. We did hear from others who adored it. There are two cave tours, each about an hour long. You need comfortable walking shoes here because there are many steps, and some paths were slippery due to natural water. At one time during the tour, they turned off the lights. It was totally dark, even an inch from the eyes. Parking was $10. and paid through our phone. There's lots of parking spaces. read more

On today's activities I visited a local place, "Natural Bridge Caverns". The park has another unique attraction the nature reserve with various animals that can be seen, I chose the cave area. As you drive up to the main entrance you can see a large parking area. Entering the park entrance you can get your tickets or have them validated if you purchase them in advance. There's a small snack area for drinks or some food before the adventure begins, also a nice gift shop is there too. We choose the Discovery trail which is about a 3/4 of a mile walk. It does get a tad humid inside but not to much. I don't know about other times of the year but when we went it was a little damp the handrails and the floor, so extra caution needs to be taken when walking. But inside is like another world and you begin to wonder how the original explores mapped this place out. The guides are quite knowledgeable and enjoyable as they explain the different places inside the cave. And inside the park area there's a restaurant, another gift shop and plenty of adventures for the family to enjoy. It's fairly priced but still it's not cheap for a large family, but it's worth the experience. I highly recommend this place. read more

We very much enjoyed our time at the caverns. It was easy for us to get to from San Antonio. The sign on the road was gigantic and we could not have asked for better instructions. Parking was easy, although I wish it was included in the ticket price. The shops and garden area was beautiful and a perfect waiting area. We did not do the ropes course although it would've been a fun addition if we had kids. The caverns were in amazing condition. You can tell that they really take care of their tour. The guide was amazing, spoke clearly and could be heard at every step of the tour. There is time for pictures and general enjoyment with our time. Their rest structures I have never seen before in the several caverns I've been to before. Overall, I found this place clean, while taking care of and enjoyable. I don't know that I necessarily need to go back, but it was quite cool. read more

First time! It was a nice break to escape from the TX heat by hiding underground. We got tickets the day of, but if you buy in advance, you can get them on sale. Make sure to save your tickets in advance. It's difficult to find signal down there. You may not be able to pull up the tickets from your email, but they can still look you up by using your email. Arrive a bit earlier to check-in. They have different tours-we did the newest Hidden Wonders tour. This is perfect if you are just wanting to stroll and not do anything too physical. Don't need any gear, but do recommend closed toe shoes. There's a guide who explains what you are looking at as you go through the cavern. The tour is a little over an hour. Love looking at the stalagmites and stalactites. Really cool! I really liked riding the B.A.T. (Conveyer system ride) on the way out instead of walking all the way. You have to step on it naturally. If you hold on to the handrail while stepping onto it, it's easy to fall. read more

The tour was so awesome I felt inclined to leave a review. The parking is $10 (personally I didn't mind) and for 2 adults for the guided tour for the hidden cavern was $80. Our tour guide was Richard who was so kind and educated on the cavern. I would highly recommend him for anyone whose a first timer. So many experiences for children and adults. WOW! Visited San Antonio recently and decided to spend the day at the Natural Bridge Caverns ... and can you say awe-inspiring! This geological wonder was such a great place to explore. I was also surprised to learn that this is one of the largest commercial caverns in the state. The journey through the caverns and all the breathtaking formations will blow you away! You get a guided tour which lead us through a labyrinth of stalactites and stalagmites, some millions of years old, each with its own unique shape and story. The guides provide insightful commentary, sharing the geological history and pointing out notable formations along the way. One of the highlights of the tour is the beautiful Natural Bridge, which is a massive limestone formation that spans an impressive length, serving as a reminder of the caverns' ancient origins. As we navigated the winding paths, we were able to take in the amazingly stunning views and took some cool photos! But when you are done exploring the caverns, Natural Bridge Caverns also offers additional attractions, including gem mining, zip-lining, and a maze, providing entertainment for visitors of all ages. There is an on-site gift shop which offers a variety of souvenirs and geological items which was helpful in allowing us to take a little part of our experience home. Had a fantastic time. Our family 2 adults and 2 high schoolers thoroughly enjoyed our visit. I can't believe we had never been here before. The park was beautiful in the spring and they just opened a new cave tour a year ago. The new cave was easier to navigate than the original cave. The original cave was a bit challenging especially if you are over 6 foot tall. We bought tickets for both caves. I liked the new one the best but the rest of my family liked the original one. Both were great. If cost is a concern, either would be great. The team members were very knowledgeable and helpful. So if you are down here for floating down the river or dining in Gruene, go here! The last time I hosted these caverns was when I was a kid probably 15-20 years ago. I'm glad to see that the tours still exist so that I could take my own kids! The entire cavern experience has been brought up to a new level. The climbing park and food establishments at the back are very impressive upgrades. The tickets are a bit pricey but I figure we won't be doing this again anytime soon. We almost missed our tour due to traffic while driving in from Austin. When I called to ask about rescheduling, the staff were very nice and explained that I could be rescheduled once I arrived. This was nice considering we'd spent so much money ahead of time with online tickets. The tour itself was nice and fairly well paced. Because I had a 5&3 year old with me I almost wished we finished sooner! Fair warning though that it can be quite strenuous, especially near the end when it's almost a completely uphill climb. The water can also make things tricky as you descend down the caverns, even with paved walkways. My 5 yr old managed the whole thing but we did have to carry the 3 yr old most of the way. read more

This was a great time. You can go into the caverns and explore and see so many minerals that are under your feet. Another fun thing is that you can buy mineral kits and sift through them with these of their water stations and "mine for gold" and find all the cool things hidden in your mineral kit. The kits weren't too expensive .. they go from small to very large but you're guaranteed to get "something". We had a fun time. This place would be great for groups and tours as well.
