We bought my 5 yo daughter an unlimited rides wrist band for $14, and she tried all 7 of the rides! She enjoyed the Ferris wheel and rode it multiple times! The carousel was also super fun and the only ride where parents are allowed on (and for free with your child). I like the carousel has a more of a galloping motion instead of a straight up and down motion. We came on the weekend after Christmas in the early afternoon and spent about 1.5 hours here. They dont have attendants at each ride but it's easy to get their attention if they aren't at a ride that you want to go on. It's not busy by any means, but there were a few kids on most rides with her. No Lines which is important for an impatient kid! Overall, great for the 3-6yo age range! I came here with my daughter for a birthday party. I had never been here and it was so awesome to learn about the history of this place. It's been around since the 1920's and my friend whose daughter's birthday we went to said her AND her Mom had been there before! 2 generations! That was fascinating to me! Apparently they moved it from its original location and now it's next to the zoo and u think it's actually owned by the zoo. It has a very very vintage feel almost spooky lol but it was a very fun experience! My daughter had a blast and I will definitely be bringing her back! One last thing, parking is a challenge! I really enjoyed bringing our daughter here, she's 1.5 yrs old and got to ride almost everything. She didn't ride a couple of them cause she was scared but the park is great and the staff are awesome. The staff really do have great patience and are kind to all the children. The rides are poorly maintained. Paint peeling, rusty fixtures and poor staffing. No wonder it was not busy. Had to find someone to operate rides. Two "no" before someone said yes. They only have six rides. 14 for unlimited rides. High point is the carousel. Someone needs to buy this for face value and invest. A fun time was had. Pro tip. Save $5 convenience fee and buy tickets in person. I didn't know. Not a worry. Money spent well. Bought the unlimited ride band for the girls and it came with choice of popcorn or hotdog with drink. So we got one of each. The rides were dated... however the girls had fun. I felt safe and I felt safe for my girls on the rides. Heard kidsbop playing... wishing it would have been a little louder. But with the zoo nearby...I bet the animals would not agree with louder. An inexpensive way to keep kids occupied! We were in town for photos at Brackenridge & had 3 little ones to keep busy. This did the trick! The rides are definitely on the older side and ideal for the younger kids, though my 8 year old nephew still enjoyed himself. There were at least 4 that weren't running so you'll find the kids often riding the same ones over and over again. Downsides: There was 1 concession stand and they were pretty slow. The unlimited band is definitely worth it if you're looking to burn some energy but again, keep in mind that some rides will be closed! read more

They r not fully staffed here only two attendants and had to get their attention and form lines just so they could run a ride. Awesome way to end an awesome trip to San Antonio. This place is out of another era. The rides are older (some 100 years!) and work! It's a part of Americana that our kids wouldn't ever have experienced anywhere else. It was packed on a Saturday with birthday parties, etc and even though it was packed the kids never had to wait in kine to ride. We paid $28 for 2 kids to have unlimited rides! (FYI if your kiddo wants face paint done you must purchase Blue tickets, no cash accepted besides at concessions stand) Adults don't need tickets or bands cause it's pretty much toddler & baby rides. We had my daughters bday party here. You get 2 hours with the package, and we got 2 hostess. The first hour was running very smooth and nice, everyone having fun. One hour later when it was time to sing happy birthday, hit the piñata, cut the cake and needed forks for the cake my hostesses disappeared. I even went to the front to ask for them, the girl at the register pages them and no one came. We waited another 15 minutes and we're still have no forks to eat the cake. I had to go get forks myself from the food kiosk. Later on someone (not any of my 2 hostesses) showed up with plates and forks. We did not need them anymore as I had already gotten them. I told that person that we've been looking for the hostess for a while because we still had to do the piñata and the kids we're just waiting instead of enjoying the party. 10 minutes later one of the hostess comes and does the piñata. We finished hitting the piñata and we already wasted 40 minutes waiting for all of these things so the kids didn't have any more time to ride. They tried to and they told them that their time was up, we needed to buy new wrist bands. Obviously we didn't and we just left. Of course we did not see any of the hostess after the piñata. It was a really bad experience. If you decide to have your bday party here make sure you get everything you need in advance so you don't waste your time waiting on people that don't really care. read more

This is practically a dream-come-true for little kids. I wish there was one when I was growing up. Flying aircrafts, floating boats, fast-moving spinning tea-cups, and a school bus on rail with a bunch of screaming "busmates" with not a single adult "driving them" what more could a kid want? They are definitely "in charge" (cue baby-version "mwahahaha"). I don't think 12 hours here, let alone the mere 3 we spent, would have been enough to pry the little rascal out of here. I grew up coming here and it was such a dream to bring my own children here. Although the rides are old, they are just as fun. My three boys enjoyed the Ferris wheel, the boats, the little cars and more. We had our sons 7th birthday party there. You can't bring in your own food anymore which we had no problem with. They make you order their food 72 hours in advance which we did. We got there and our host never came by. Our drinks didn't come until 45 minutes into the party and our food 1 1/2 hours later. Keep in mind we only have a 2 hour time spot. The so called manager was extremely rude and yelling at all the parties to leave even if their food came late. He refused a discount and never apologized. He told us we can leave or just wait. Kiddie Park is a San Antonio gem. I hope it never closes. I haven't met any other native San Antonian that doesn't have fond memories of this place. My most recent visit was on Saturday for my friend's daughter's birthday party. Although the parking can be tricky and annoying, it is well worth the trouble. The carousel has been my favorite since forever and I'm glad it's still there. Kiddie Park also reminds me of Selena since she filmed one of her music videos there and at Brackenridge Park. My 4-year old asks to go to Kiddie Park all the time. We took a road trip to San Antonio in June (2007) after going on a web-quest to find a preschool-friendly roller coaster. I found their website and off we went full of the promise of fun rides and shade. We were not disappointed! Apparently, this place was THE place for birthday parties in the 70's. At least this is what my friends who grew up in SA told me. Open since 1925, this place is frozen in time and I suspect not much has been altered in a while. Not for the overprotective, uptight parent. These rides are OLD, have chipping paint, the moat water is nasty, and the staff is a bit "gangsta" but we had an absolute blast and since we went on a Thursday (missed Wednesday with unlimited rides for $6.25!) it was empty and we had the run of the place. Adults are free to ride only 2 of the rides: the carousel (most of the horses have broken legs and no tails but our kid didn't notice, be sure to check out the clown portraits) and a helicopter ride. Good times. Perfect fun place for toddlers and preK or Kinder kids. We went and had the place to ourselves. The staff were great. Almost 100% perfect mask wearing from the staff. Only reason I'm not saying 5 stars is that one worker didn't have hers on properly but she did put it on correctly when I asked her to, and the manager checked in with me afterwards. It felt like the funnest and safest place in the zoo/park bc many zoo guests didn't have their masks on correctly and half the folks in the train weren't wearing them at all. Loved this place! There are 9 rides with only one having a high restriction. I was a little nervous that my 1 year old would not be able to enjoy the rides but he really enjoyed most of them. My 2 year old really loved riding all of the rides (except the one she was to short for) and loved that her brother could ride with her. The rides were older and the carousel really needs to be greased but the rides are still in good condition. The grounds were kept up, it was very shaded, and the bathrooms were clean. They have carnival food for a good price or you can bring your own food and eat at one of the many picnic tables they have. You can pay per ride or $13 for unlimited rides. The unlimited rides were only $11.25 on Wednesday because they have discount Wednesday's. They also have a little carnival and arcade. What they do not tell you on their website is they accept card everywhere except the arcade. You can not pay with a card to get tokens for the arcade games, you have to have cash. The employees were very laid back and no one gave us a hard time about our service dog. She even rode the carousel with us. The only thing that irritated me and the employees should be aware that they should not unbuckle children that can not get out before they allow the parents to come get them. I had one employee not unlock the gate so I could get to my one year old before he started climbing out of the ride because the employee undid his seat belt and walked off. You can tell he is to little to be getting out on his own. The kids loved it so much and the price is great so we will back next time we are in town. read more

My almost 3 year old had so much fun at the Kiddie Park!!! I loved that he could go on all the rides by himself! We went on a Wednesday, which I think was $12 for unlimited rides, what a steal!!! My son went on every ride multiple times and had a blast! The staff was very nice and patient with the kids. All the rides were open and there are lots of picnic benches when you need to take a break and refuel! Food is reasonably priced and there is a small arcade area with a bunch of cute coin operated rides. Bathrooms were also clean and air conditioned. We will definitely be back! read more

We regretfully went on Saturday 03/10/2018 which happened to be busy due to Spring Break starting and HOT. The line to the concession stand was ridiculous. I spent over 20 minutes waiting to get a beverage. Do u think a child wants to stand in line for a beverage?! Of course not, so when 14 minutes passed while still in line I requested to speak with a manager to see if they can open up a second window due to the delay and even suggested drink only because it was really hot that day. (Which they do have a second window). The associate left and after another 8 minutes, im still in line, comes backs and stated the manager cant come and told me to tell u they can not open the second window because it will delay the food orders and plus its Spring Break so its busy. What, so they can't open the second window because they were busy? Thankfully i was not part of a scheduled party because i would be spending half at the concession stand. And if you look at what they replied they clearly dont care for "individuals vs parties" as they mentioned we were busy yet had not mentioned we should have opened another window KNOWING it would be busy. And if we were part of a party they have assistants. Clearly will not go back. read more

Let me preface by saying that if your children are over the age of, I'd say 7, they are not really going to enjoy this place. This is definitely for "kiddies", meaning toddlers and extremely small humans. The rides are pretty small and only go in circles but the 4 and 5 year old girls I brought thought it was the cat's meow! There are about 10 rides (including the pony ride which costs 6.00 separately. (SO worth it, Darla the pony is wonderful!) There is a school bus, planes, space-ships, boats with a real moat, trains, cars, a carousel and a colorful Ferris wheel. There is also a mini arcade that is operated by quarters and the rides are pretty awesome. Throughout the park are little mini vending machines filled with cheap plastic toys, temporary tattoos, stickers and candy. They have tables with umbrellas set up in the middle of the park for you to sit (and benches throughout the park) and relax at while your child waits in a relatively short line. The concession booth sells all kinds of goodies like ice cream, sno-cones (bubblegum, grape, lemon, strawberry, etc), fried and fresh pickles, nachos, chili-cheese fries, hot-dogs, funnel cakes, chips, candy and even a make your own cotton candy machine! One of the best things about this park though is that you can bring your OWN packed lunch! My only big issue and the reason for the loss of one star was the parking and stone flooring issue. I WISH they would pave this lot! With so many kids running around, stones end up everywhere, like in MY EYE. The parking was so confusing. I really also wish they would put up some signs to help direct the flow of traffic to the correct parking lot. I ended up parking at an abandoned building and walking behind a large piece of construction equipment to get to the entrance. So confusing. It is true for awhile Kiddie Park was not looking like it was going to make it any longer. Low and behold a family decided to purchase the property and restore the park back to its' glory days. The whole park is outdoors, and includes rides with boats, airplanes, cars, a schoolbus, ferris wheel, flying discs, and one of the oldest carousels in the state (built in the early 1900's). I don't like that it's next to an hourly type motel, but hopefully with property values rising in the area that will be gone one day. The park is well fenced in, and employees are very watchful of the kids entering and exiting the rides. Due to the nature of the rides, it is great for smaller kids since there are no weight or height restrictions. There is a small area with old school arcade games (yes, no digital screens and cards to swipe just a good old fashioned quarter does it). There is also a snack bar that sells Double Dave's pizza, fried pickles, snow cones, cotton candy etc. For an unlimited ride wristband it's $13/kid, or tickets can be purchased for a certain amount of rides. Wednesday is bargain day. The whole place is nostalgic and I'm glad someone decided to restore it back for the enjoyment of future generations. read more

Repainted ancient Kiddie Park color me impressed! Since having a child we've visited on several occasions. Until recently I always feared that "kiddie park, tetanus cut/rattle snake in the Ferris wheel" myth, but I feel like the new management is taking action in the safety of the rides. Yes they're still ancient and creaking. But the kids love it. I mean all of the smaller kids really love this place! Sure its 100 years old, but they bring a warm nostalgia with a hint of carnival fare that keeps the customers coming every weekend. My major disappointment was the unlimited wrist band at $11 with approximately 7 rides did not include the inflatable slide. You have to pay $3 extra for the inflatable slide. That hardly seems fair especially when only one person can go down the slide at a time and its inflatable!! The slide turns out to be my kids favorite thing, so its worth the 3 bucks. If I knew what I know now, I'd probably not have paid the $11 for unlimited rides, but $3 for unlimited slides. That's because I'm reasonably cheap! read more

Since my son has gotten older, we've been trying to find fun places to take him that don't break the bank and will make him the happiest child alive for a couple of hours, at least. We went on a Friday afternoon recently and I brought my nieces that were from out of town. It wasn't too bad because it wasn't too busy and there were literally no wait lines (with two 3 year olds and one 1.5 year old, waiting times are not fun). $13 per bracelet is pretty reasonable, it is a tad bit expensive for the lack of rides and amount of time you spend there, but I can't really complain. We ended up getting a groupon prior to visiting which was a buy 1 get 1 free, which helped. Most of the employees were teenagers who obviously weren't wanting to be spending their day dealing with toddlers/children. I don't blame them - but they could've at least had common courtesy to say hello or even smile, it was kind of eery how most of the employees were extremely grouchy. Even the manager who was working in the ticket booth was kind of rude. I love the feel of Kiddie Park, it's small, it's old-fashioned and in a 3-year olds eyes, it's like going to Disneyland (OK, maybe not as good - but still.. you get the idea). The concessions are completely reasonable and don't break the bank which is SO nice. They don't allow food/drinks inside of the park, but I'm sure you could sneak it in. Overall, Kiddie Park is awesome. The renovation has been great and the parking lot is now HUGE. I love it and will continue to bring my son here. read more

My 3-year old daughter and I played hooky and visited Kiddie Park, which can only be described as wonderfully dilapidated. It was established in 1925. In fact it looks like someone dumped a bunch of small carnival rides in 1925 and left them to the elements, never bothering to maintain them since. The park has a carousel, boat ride, helicopter ride, a roller coaster and more. There are layers upon layers of flaking (probably lead) paint coming off of the rides and what safety repairs that have been made are jerry-rigged with duct tape and chewing gum to hold them all together. Built in 1918, the carousel and its 36 wooden carved horses are in varying states of disrepair. The harsh San Antonio heat and more than a million children have taken their toll on all the rides over the last 80 years. Only a few horses still have their tails. All the others just have a hole on their rear where the tails slid into--a zoophile's wildest fantasy. Many of the horses' feet/legs are missing. One of the carnies who works there told me that there's a room filled with tails and legs that have come off over the years. Bad painted clown art adorns the rides and each trash can is topped with a scary clown sculpture. You throw your trash through the clown's mouths. So what did we think of the adventure? Samantha and I loved it!! I know that any Dominion yenta who visits would be horrified by the appearance of the place, but it I think this place has wonderful character and a great patina. Plus it is cheap: $7.50 for all the rides you can handle on Wednesday. Sam loved it because there was a carousel with horsies, there were barely any kids (i.e., no lines), and she met a nice boy named Michael. She has asked very week to go back and we have faithfully ever since. read more
