I wish I went to Zoom Drain first! You should to save time and money. I know who I will call going forward. I used another business before for something else, while they were good and had 24/7 availability, they charge $95 just to come out. Zoom Drain offered to come out and look at my yard pipe (there was water build up from all this rain and it just seemed a bit clogged) without any charges. And it looks like I'm just at the cusp of their service so I'm super glad I found them. So with my pipe, with all the rain there was some water build up. It didn't seem too bad so I went with the cheapest quote (should have known better) since I figured it's just to snake the drain/pipe. As soon as that other person/business came out, it went from $93 to $250... then they told me they couldn't do it, and I had to hydro jet for about 3 times more the cost than Zoom Drain! Or to replace my pipes altogether for $8000!!!!!!! Given they had very little review I wanted a second opinion and additional quotes. I know Zoom Drain would come out free of charge so I immediately contacted them and they came out the same day! Literally just a couple of hours after I contacted them. Maurice came out and he was professional, patient, just super duper nice. He explained why there was water build up and how it's normal! Basically my drain for my yard pipes is just too high up on my front yard, and places like San Francisco even drill holes into the sidewalk to drain. But as long as I'm not flooded anywhere, there's no issue. He checked everything and even if I needed to hydro jet it was about 1/3 of the cost the other place quoted me! He didn't even offer to snake my drain since the other business tried but "failed" and told me I needed to replace my pipes... *insert side eye emoji right here* I did end up asking Maurice to run diagnostics, he tested all my drains and everything was working normally. And that's it. Saved myself a whole bunch of money. Would have saved myself a lot of time/stress too if I just went to them in the first place. Lesson learned. Zoom Drain!!! My 3 year old unfortunately flushed his hot-wheel and a pair of sunglasses down the toilet in the same week!!! The toilet got clogged but we tried all the DIY tactics to unclog a toilet! From the plunger, to pour down hot water, and using dawn soap.... And nothing worked so we contacted different plumbing services but decided to go with zoom drain! Zoom drain is great because it is 7 days a week and they respond very quickly!!! Aden responded so fast in regard to the schedule and the technician! At first, Aden scheduled a technician to come the next day! Also, Aden scheduled me for the same day in case a technician gets the availability to do so! Later that day, Maurice called me saying he is available and he came in the next 30 minutes! He came and he explained the steps he will perform, he also explained other options he could perform if he doesn't solve the issue! He also wore booties over his shoes which was cool! The service he performed was using a huge 6 ft snake tool to remove the items as well as push whatever was slowing down the pressure of the water! Maurice successfully hooked the sunglasses, as well as clearing the whatever was blocking the water pressure! Overall, the service costed me $216 which sucks but knowing the problem was fixed was a relief! Maurice was a cool dude, very nice, professional and No BS, glad he came and fixed the issue! Day after Christmas....calling around, none of the Drain Cleaning places were even answering the phone. Drain plugged with roots.....in bad shape. Considered renting a powered root-cutting snake (more later) but made one more call. Zoom person picked up himself as Lucas and asked how he could help me. I gave him the details and he said that I'd be getting text messages on updates. I received a text immediately noting the start of the process. A few minutes later, I received a text from the technician that he was 55 minutes away and included a phone number if I had any changes. Maurice arrived in a clean and very well equipped truck (after seeing all the items that he either pulled out or used from the truck mount, it was like having Batman clean the pipes). He noted that I may have had success cleaning the sewer on my own, but that I could have broken that snake off on a root and had a host of new problems on a day that I needed none. Yay me for not trying this myself. Maurice identified two clogs - one on the house side of the cleanout and one on the street side. He offered me two options - to simply clear the drain or to cut the roots as well. I opted for the latter (more on THIS later). Maurice processed this pipe like a doctor - cleaned everything going in and out, checking and double checking, confirming correct work with the Camera (sharing some of the results with me). Honestly, my first thought was "why is a smart guy like this out here cleaning sewers?" followed by "thank GOD that a smart guy like this is out here cleaning sewers!". He cleared the pipes, the roots, ensured that the upline feeder pipes to the sinks, toilets, shower and washing machine did not get plugged as collateral consequence of the original plug......a good thing, as the shower needed to get re-cleared post repair. A professional, systematic, friendly job. High regards and ratings for the system and the people just on that. I was even happier with what did NOT happen. There was no up-sell for additional services (outside of the very reasonable choice he offered as to whether I wanted the pipes just de-blocked or if I wanted the roots cut as well, two different tools, times and prices). I was not offered a quote for a new sewer lateral (one company two years ago wanted me to get the $17,000 lateral replacement option. In and out....and on to the next job. Anyone that thinks that they are overpriced has no idea what they are talking about. Travel time for my job was 55 minutes in and I assume the same time back. They were on site within an hour (try that with most plumbers....you're lucky to get same day). His truck was well equipped including a large (separate fuel motor) water pressurizer with remote speed control, TV and camera, cutters, etc. Worth double what I paid. Our in-sink food disposal broke down after 18 yrs of use and started leaking; disgusting! As a family with kids there was zero chance we could get through the weekend without repairing it and I did not have 4-5 hours to get it done (watching youtube videos, visit to home depot, and doing the work). So, I turned to Yelp, put in a quote request and waited. I didn't have to wait long--I received an instant reply from Zoom--for quotes to roll in. I considered two: Elk Grove Plumbing & Drain and Zoom Drain & Sewer Service. Ultimately I went with Zoom because they were able to get to my home first--within 2.5 hours of first contact!--and they offered a free quote (EG would charge $40 to come out to evaluate, but applies that amount to any repair costs). The plumber that came out was AWESOME; quick, efficient, and answered all my questions with professional tips and information. Afterwards, I received a confirmation email with invoice, payment receipt, warranty information, and pre- and post-work pictures of the food disposal and drain. Oh, and the trucks they arrive in appear to have everything they need to get a job done so you don't have to have something come to evaluate and then return to get the job done. The entire experience from first contact to completion took about 3 hours and I paid what I consider a fair price for parts and labor. Zoom Drain answered my SOS call for my 1920s home renovation quickly and timely. 2 days after I called they sent out a technician, Tyler. I had 2 quotes from different companies earlier in the day/week. Unlike the other companies Tyler gave me multiple quotes depending on the work I wanted done all of which came in under the other quotes. He started work the next day in my tightly accessible crawl space. A shower drain tie in to cast iron was needed (as I failed multiple times to get a coupling not to leak) and the drain from the kitchen sink which was cast iron had fallen and broken in multiple areas. I wrote to Zoom Drain about a stoppage in one of our pipes. I was requesting basic pricing information, but the operator refused to share with me any pricing details over the phone -- they said it differs based on vendor. I thought that was fine and agreed to have the vendor come out to do an assessment. Before the vendor came, I also asked them for the basic price for a drain snaking, but they said they needed to examine the issue first themselves before providing an assessment. After the assessment, they let me know the baseline price was $274 to have my drain snaked. I think the vendor could have let me know over the phone that the cheapest service was in the neighborhood of $274. That would have given me enough information to save the time of having them visit and examine my issue. Otherwise, the two plumbers who came out were friendly and helpful. This is not a review of their service, but of the company policy of withholding pricing information from prospective clients. read more

What a sh*t show from that storm last night! I had ZERO issues with the storm a week ago (during New Years) but last night turned my home into a circus. From a PGE outage for over 8 hours, water pouring into multiple places that have never leaked before and my deck drain deciding to clog during the night which made life pretty crazy and I've had no sleep. A friend called Zoom Drain for me around 4am to get me on the schedule for that day and Maurice and Tyler showed up quickly this morning. They looked at the mess and how what I was doing was not working to get the drain clear and they realized a hardened pile of debris/pine needles had gotten lodged in the turning point so Tyler reached in and took it out. It was literally THAT easy and quick! Well after performing some tests when the clog was cleared, he discovered a huge hole in my underground old pipes. With dark approaching he got under my house and replaced the broken section and then flushed everything to ensure good drainage. Yesterday our only toilet stopped working and backed sewage up into the tub. We were panicked and called Rooter Hero, who charged us $500 to LOOK at the problem and proceeded to quote us thousands of dollars for a full repipe - total scare tactic. After looking at reviews for Zoom Drain, we called and spoke to a lovely receptionist who said she'd get someone out first thing in the morning. It was so helpful that their lines are open 24/7 so we could get things set up quickly. My only complaint is that I asked for my fiancé to be called as a backup if I didn't pick up, which didn't happen, but luckily I saw the call not long after I missed the voicemail and they got someone out really fast after that. Ted came out around 8:30am, gave us flat pricing, thoroughly explained our issue, and fixed the problem for us quickly and for $650 - waaaaayyy under the scammy Rooter Hero. I knew exactly what my problem was before they got here having had the same issue about 15 years ago so any technical knowledge from them was not necessary. Main drain line was clogged and just needed to be "snaked out". They snaked out the clog in less that 20 minutes for $263.00. He talked me into doing the hydro jet cleaning, and I am glad he did. He unclogged the drain and then spent over 2 hours cleaning the drain pipe. When you're a senior and have limited income pricing is very importantI. The gentleman on the phone was very vague and wouldn't quote me any pricing for auguring if needed. They do say once he's there you don't have to use them but really we're desperate when we call and if they're the first to respond sending them away is ridiculous.
