SEARCH NO FURTHER! We had the greatest experience tonight with a late-night emergency main line…read moreservice call! Nothing worse than getting ready for bed, to find all the drains in the house are backing up. Time to call around... I first called one of the well-known plumbers you hear on the radio, and was surprised to learn there was a $99 +$265 emergency call out charge (a total of $364 before any repairs are even made!), and a 2-hour response tj. I came here to Yelp, and found Mike with Ace's Plumbing... most 5-Star reviews in the area. I called just before 9PM and Mike answered, said he'd be right over (though he was getting ready for bead as well when I called!). He was at my house within 15 minutes, diagnosed the issue within 5 minutes, and was soon running a snake down the main line! Was a total of 30 minutes and the job was done! So glad we searched Yelp and found Ace's! In the end, it cost us LESS THAN HALF of what the other guy wanted just to show up (not to mention a 2-hour response time). Thanks again Mike, you saved the day and saved us a ton of money!!!

I called Ace's Rooter for a clogged drain in my basement floor. Mike was fast to respond and…read moreactually came 30 minutes earlier than stated. The clogged drain was backing up in my basement about 3 feet diameter. It was a 15-20 foot line that ran toward the main line. The water went down the next day when Mike arrived. Mike said if he has to clean out the main line that would be 575, but he would clean out the small line for free. Mike put the camera down the small line which had a handful of small fingerlie type branches in there which shouldn't be. Mike said the pipe was bad and really needed to be replaced. He checked the mainline while I was upstairs turning on water for him. When i came back down stairs he said he already ran the camera down the main line and it was fine. I asked him to show me with his camera because I had just bought the house a few years ago and the house inspector showed me where there were a few branches at the end of the line that would need to be cleaned out eventually. Mike ran the camera again and there was sitting water at the end. He said he could clean out the lines but that would be 575+220 after he just told me he would do the small line for free. I then asked him for a rough estimate on replacing the small line. He got on the phone with his concrete buddy and was whispering in the corner on the phone. Comes back and gives me a quote of 9700.00. I ended up only having him clear out the small line and he ended up charging me 575.00. This guy does a bait and switch on his pricing, so I would get everything in writing on how much it costs before he does any work. I won't be using him again. He gets a 3 for his quick response and that's all. His pricing a 1. His integrity a 0.

I strongly recommend NOT hiring A1 Sewer & Septic Service Inc. We are thousands of dollars into…read morethis situation, and after our experience, we do not trust their work or their word. We initially called A1 to snake a drain. They were unsuccessful and told us they would return the next day with a camera and hydro jetter. When their technician, Chris, arrived, he declined our offer to show him the other half of the basement and began working. He went into the wrong pipe, causing sewage water to explode out of a basement toilet and contaminate carpet, baseboards, boxes, and personal property. When I asked what we were going to do about the sewage, Chris said, "We'll deal with this later," and walked away. He later apologized, admitted fault in front of a witness, and assured us A1 would cover the cleanup at no charge. Based on that promise, we canceled our own cleaning crew. A1 later refused to pay, telling us Chris was nervous, "misspoke," and didn't have authority to make that promise. A1 then worked on our main sewer line, removed roots, and told us the line was clear. Less than ONE WEEK later, our sewer backed up again. We hired another company, and they removed a massive ball of roots that A1 had left behind. When we contacted A1 about the second backup, they refused to even send someone to the house and told us to send a picture instead. Customer service manager Phyllis was rude, Tim promised to call us back the next morning and never did, and we still have not received the footage we requested. A1 says they stand behind their work, but that was not our experience. They caused a sewage mess in our basement, backed out of their technician's promise to cover the cleanup, told us our sewer line was clear when it clearly was not, and provided terrible customer service afterward. Do not hire A1. We ultimately had to pay another company to address the problem they told us was already fixed and have done NOTHING to rectify the situation other than say their technician was nervous. The attached picture is what the second company pulled out AFTER they said the drain was clear... No chance they actually did the work they said they did!

They were able to quickly come out - even during a hectic, busy season with lots of homes experiencing frozen pipes. Don showed up on time and patiently explained what he discovered was the issue to my husband who was out of town and on speaker phone. Don was able to fix the issue , and ensured that our major faucet (kitchen) was working before he left , even though this wasn't the faucet that had been repaired. We called this company out for a "clogged" bathroom sink and now we sit with thousands of dollars out of our pockets of damages. Dan was attentive in the beginning process and was very kind to our family. However he stated he wouldn't do anything to put his business or my family as risk. Knowing our Pipes were galvanized he still chose to snake our pipe and bust a huge hole and cause the havoc we are now in. Our family was understanding this was a mistake and dan admitted he "must have poked a hole when he snaked it", he came back out to our house immediately and also delivered us floor fans. This is more than we could ever ask for. The next day our hard wood floors begin to buckle. My husband had reached out very kindly and explained the circumstance and requested his business liability ins as any business should have. This is when things turned upside down. Him and his wife began to harass us all day via text and calls asking for our homeowners insurance as this is like a "car accident". Never has a business asked for someone else's ins, so we felt uncomfortable. We politely asked that we just get the work completed and my husband and I would discuss our next steps. At this time the company decided to "sever" their business with us leaving us with no working sink, a hole in our pipe and severe water damage. Might I add it got thrown in our face that they offered a discount to us because we work on the frontlines. We never ask or brag about our jobs and expect to pay the full fee on any and everything. All this company was worried about is a "good review" and they knew I had left an upsetting review on a previous company so they kept mentioning that (hence they probably remove all bad reviews to keep their rating up) I'm still giving them 3 stars because of the attentiveness and how willing he was to drive the 30 mins to come back to our home with fans. When severing his business with us he stated he needed to save his ass and make sure he can continue to put food on the table for his family. It would have cost Drain Cleaners $1500 to file a claim and then they would have made back $700 from us by completing the work. However he didn't think about what he was doing to MY family. Now my family of 5 (including a newborn) had to pay $1500 for deductible through own insurance, $600 for pipe repair, and now we are living out of a tiny hotel room due to our house being "unlivable" for the forsaken future. Please do your research before hiring a company! I'm all about supporting small business as we continued our repair with a small business. But if you have older pipes, think wisely.
