I came here to Yelp, and found Mike with Ace's Plumbing... most 5-Star reviews in the area. I called just before 9PM and Mike answered, said he'd be right over (though he was getting ready for bead as well when I called!). He was at my house within 15 minutes, diagnosed the issue within 5 minutes, and was soon running a snake down the main line! Was a total of 30 minutes and the job was done! We are, sadly, yet another victim of the Folsom pinhole leaks. We previously had two pinhole leaks,…read moreone in the ceiling of the garage and one outside near the pipes to the sprinklers. This latest one was a hot water leak under the slab in the master closet, and the final straw. Due to our previously outstanding experience with Michael and Leak Finders, they were our first call, and our only call. Michael quickly detected the leak and then explained our options: 1) Only fix the leak 2) Repipe only the hot water 3) Repipe both the hot and cold. He thoroughly explained all our options, including exactly what would be done for each scenario, and the cost. Since this was our third leak we decided to go with the repipe. I can't stress this enough, Michael is punctual, communicates clearly, very meticulous and very clean. The job took 2 weeks. Every single day he was on time. Each day he vacuumed the areas he worked in and put his tools away. If it weren't for the holes we wouldn't even know he'd been there. He limited the holes that had to be made and explained to me every day what he'd be working on. My wife joked he left the house cleaner when he left each day than it was before he arrived. The job is done now and we are thrilled with the work he did. We can't recommend him highly enough. We all have our contractor horror stories. You definitely wouldn't get anything other than a success story with Michael and Leak Finders. We are confident the days of pinhole leaks are behind us. He also added several more hose bibs for us where there were none before. We have have on on every side of our house. I was able to easily set up an appointment online within a time frame that would work for me. They called prior to the technician coming out. The technician was professional and friendly and I feel like the quote they gave me was reasonable compared to other companies. They do charge a $49 service fee normally but that's relatively lower compared to other companies. The technician waived the service fee which was extremely nice and not expected. I did end up going with the company I normally use but only because they quoted me a lower price for the same thing but I would consider using Mission in the future if needed.

Be very cautious with Mission Plumbing, Heating and Cooling…read more My neighbor recently had Mission out for a service call; the problem was with the control board in the air handling unit. The tech had to leave to get a board, but was back within a half-hour and spent a little over two hours total, including the time to get a new board. The board was under warranty, so there was no cost for the board. He was charged $1,063.48, but given a 10% "over 65" discount, so total charge was $957.13, which works out to somewhere between, $320 and $479 an hour. The technician also said that he was lucky that the board was under warranty, otherwise it would have cost and additional $1,000 for the board (this was also verified by the service manager at Mission). We got the model number of the board, searched for it on the Internet, and found it on the manufacturer's website (Goodman) for less than $100. We contacted Mission to discuss with the general manager twice; he never returned our calls. We then visited Mission in person to visit with him, but he "was in a meeting", so we were directed to Gabe, who confirmed the charges above. When asked about the pricing for the board, we were told that it is not generated locally, but by Southern. Mission was purchased in April 2021 by Southern Home Services of Maitland, Florida, which owns 26 PHVAC companies primarily along the southeast coast of the United States. Southern is, in turn, owned by Gryphon Investors, a private equity company. So not only does Mission need to cover their overhead locally, they most likely need to also provide funding for Southern, who in turn possibly has to return cash to Gryphon. It all flows uphill. Southern also owns C. M. Mose, another local PHVAC contractor in the Kansas City area. Moral of the story: Mission may have been a good company at one time when it was locally owned, but it has changed. Get pricing up front. Question the technician. If you don't like what you're hearing, go somewhere else, and don't hesitate to go with a mom and pop; quite possibly they can do the job just as well for quite a bit less money. They don't have the overhead that the big guys do (especially if owned by private equity).
