I am a senior citizen and live alone in an older complex. KC Metro came out in Jan. and installed a commercial grade water heater ($cost 2,500) although a residential water heater was what was needed. The temperature gauge is so close to the floor that it is impossible for me to change the water temperature settings. A commercial grade water heater cost significantly more than a residential one, at least $100.00 more a month. This commerial grade water heater should be replaced for a residential water heater unit similiar to the one they removed. read more

This family and team business is fantastic. After the January cold snap in KC, power outage in our neighborhood and our house warmed back up, the frozen pipe gave way. I spoke with LJ on the phone at 10:30am, his son Trey and Kyle showed up in at appx 3:15 in the afternoon. They had it located, cut a small hole in the sheet rock and fixed the pipe by 3:50 cleaned up the mess and out by 4:00. DO NOT TRUST THE PEOPLE FROM KC METRO PLUMBING!! LJ and his crony Trey are money hungry con artists who are trying to convince you that you need huge work for small problems. My kitchen faucet had a very low stream with no hot water and my garbage disposal was locked. Trey comes in takes one quick look at the garbage disposal and without testing it by pressing the reset button or flipping the switch, he immediately says you need a new one. Which is going to cost me well over $400 to replace. I say well can you at least unlock it. He unlocks it and knowing that I will not be getting it all replaced he goes ahead and charges me $65 for unlocking it! Then he looks at my faucet and says I'm going to need a flush which is going to cost me $120. I said to myself, that sounds like a lot but screw it at least I'll have a working faucet. I told Trey go ahead. He flushes it then says that didn't work and I'm going to need a new faucet. And that's going to cost me $200 to install. Mind you I would still have to buy the faucet. So I paid $200 to Trey from KC Metro Plumbing for practically nothing and I still have my faucet issues! Frustrated and unhappy I decided to get a second opinion and lo and behold, they took care of my faucet without having to replace it and for a fraction of the cost. PLEASE, avoid from doing business with these people unless you like burning cash for pointless work! read more

Not sure if it's normal or not, but I had a terrible time getting them on-site when they said they would be there. They kept having car trouble, but even when they weren't they still thought it was okay to stop for breakfast while my tenants waited for them (for hours). I understand their work was okay, but they left one of the bedrooms FLOODED. Their response was that it wasn't their fault because they didn't turn off the water (they asked my tenant to turn off the water when they arrived). They told me to "put a fan on it." Stanley Steamer told me I needed to remove the padding ASAP, and quoted me $570+ to do it. That didn't include putting carpet or padding back in so now I'm getting quotes to replace the carpet and padding. read more

This company has been amazing for us. We had a pipe burst a few years ago in the middle of winter and they were able to come out that night. They showed us the pipe and walked us through everything step-by-step. Then this week we thought our sump pump broke. Before coming out, he walked my husband through what to check. My first experience with LJ was in August 2018 when he replaced my sump pump and repaired a leaking faucet. While away last year during the pandemic, my daughter checked on our place frequently and discovered the sump pump was no longer working, contacted LJ, and he came out immediately. Since the pump was under warranty, he replaced it only charging for his labor. LJ responded quickly to two other issues with a leaking pipe and faucets during the time we were away. Upon our return last month one of our shower faucet only had hot water. I called LJ and within an hour he arrived cleaned our the valve and resolved the issue. No one likes having to call a plumber, right? You spend a lot of money, and have to deal with the mess involved. That's why I was so pleased with KC Metro Plumbing! We called a big name local plumber first (ever wonder how they can afford those high price TV ads - yeah, us too) and was told a simple hose replacement on the kitchen sink would cost over $500. We declined, and I looked on line and found on Angie's list KC Metro Plumbing. I called, and they were out right when I asked them to come out, looked over the situation and replaced the faucet for $150, and replaced all the under sink items neater then I had them! We have hired KC Metro Plumbing for two jobs and requested a quote on a third. Each time, LJ worked with us to determine the issue and if he was the right company to handle the job. While I've been impressed by his thorough and clean work, there were a few above and beyond pieces that particularly impressed me: - On the job where we requested a quote but did not hire him, it was on KC Metro's own recommendation. He took an hour (in terrible weather, nonetheless) to assess our issue, concluded the scope of work was beyond what he was comfortable doing with his equipment, and then even told us what he had found so we save time and money when we found another contractor - he did not charge for this consultation. That level of honesty and integrity made KC Metro our go-to plumbing company. - Our most recent project involved tearing up our deck and patio to reach the sewer line. Even though we gave him free reign to do as much irreversible damage to the deck as needed to get the job done, LJ and crew took the time to make sure the deck that remained after the project was complete was still usable and safe. - Of all the contractors we've hired to work on our house, KC Metro Plumbing is the only one that has completely, fully cleaned up after each job. While it's not a huge deal to go and pick up the wrappers and such after work is done, I believe this is a reflection of the level of respect and care LJ and his crew take when working on our home. All in all, our experience both with KC Metro and with other home repair companies leads me to highly recommend giving these guys a try! read more
