Tech came out for A/C repair. On time and friendly. Found a faulty pan switch and removed it. Instead of trying to up sell us on another switch told us we had two other failsafes to protect overflow. These guys are the best!! They called me after I submitted my issue via their website. I had asked for someone to come in on Saturday and they offered to have someone come in that very day. Steve was knowledgeable and knew exactly how to fix my AC issue. He replaced the capacitor and my AC was back to cooling again with no issue. The previous company I called told me that my HVAC unit was very old and I needed to buy a new one which would have cost me over 5K to say the least. I spent 3 weeks with no AC trying to figure out how I was going to handle this huge unexpected expense during one of the hottest months in GA. We shopped around for a new HVAC unit about a year and a half ago (we knew ours was dying and had to put in more coolant each spring). We were using Coolray, but Zone Home had better prices/options and I'm so glad we went with them. We're in the process of selling our home, and Mac did our routine maintenance last week and fixed everything on the buyer's inspection (no cost since we were still under warranty and doing routine service items.) Not only did he service the unit, but he also added notes to our invoice report so we have all the documentation we need to sell our home. And then our AC went out yesterday. I called at 5pm when I got home from work to a 90 degree house, they got someone out the same day. I asked how our unit could go out even though it was just serviced the week before. Jason explained that it was probably the capacitor (he actually diagnosed it over the phone when he called me coordinate the last minute appointment). Apparently they've been going out all over the city, even with brand new units, because we've had really high temperatures for several days straight. Sure enough, he showed me the blown out capacitor, replaced it (again, no cost), and made sure the system was running consistently and wasn't going to have any other issues before he headed off to another night-time house call. I get that things break, especially when they're pushed to their limits (i.e. GA temps in the middle of a multi-days heat wave). What I care about is how responsive folks are when that happens. Even though we were one of many families dealing with AC issues in the heat, Jason was out to fix our problem same-day. We've been really happy with our routine service experiences, and our "fix-an-issue" service experiences. Jason and Mac were both great to work with, and so were other Zone Home techs in the past. After moving into our new home and having the gas turned on; the gas company told me they could not turn on the gas to the furnace because of a safety issue with one of the pipes. I called the HVAC department at ZHS and they had Steve come out within a couple of hours. Steve provided great service and fixed the issue in a short amount of time. We also had ZHS come out after seeing a couple of bugs. The service was quick, non- invasive, and reasonably price. We have had no more bugs and am glad I found ZHS for their services! I hired them to fix my air conditioning unit (A/C), but the first technician couldn't find the leak. I told him about the copper coil issue in my subdivision houses' a/c units. So, he opened the unit and confirmed this was the issue. The quoted price was over $2K, with an additional fee for the technician's visit and to replace the coils. I wanted to negotiate, but the technician insisted I speak to Dan, company owner. I discussed the widespread problem of copper coil issues in the neighborhood with Dan and offered to promote his business on our community Facebook page. However, he refused to negotiate except by offering his annual plan for $3XX. The second visit was by the installer who replaced the copper coil with aluminum. This installer asked to use my bathroom, which was unusual, though friendly, he looked uncomfortable for some reason. After the coil replacement, I noticed that the mud seal around the unit was poorly done, causing air to leak out. I took a photo and sent it to Dan. Jason, who came over in response, appeared quite upset for being sent for this job. He acknowledged the poor seal and did a good job fixing it. A week later, the unit failed. I texted Dan and called the office, but received no response. After calling Dan again, someone was sent to inspect the unit. They discovered a leak in the copper coil welding of the outside unit, requiring nearly $700 to fix. I find it hard to believe that someone couldn't detect this leak during the initial visit in this age and time. When I tried talking to Dan about the $700, and the possibility of another leak, he was chuckling. It's like going to a doctor with a stomach ache and the doctor immediately suggests surgery without trying other tests first. Even if you ask for surgery, the doctor would insist on running tests because they know better. I leave it up to the reader to decide whether or not to trust them, but I personally had a negative experience. Something seemed to upset Dan, perhaps his ego was hurt when I mentioned the community page. Or they have serious problems between employer and employees. I would not hire them for any HVAC issues. Response: The house was built 8 years ago. Did not decline a leak test but was questioning it. Another company was hired just before winter in November. I did mention it. They did leak test and found it to be in the coils. But they used a sealant as the temperature was getting colder. I hired Zone Home for a second opinion because of their positive reviews. Zone started out as a promising Pest Control provider -- however my wife started to notice that the application visits were getting shorter and shorter. Last fall I was sitting in the front room when Zone pulled up to do the pest control application and I started my stop watch. Less than five minutes and Zone was done and gone from my driveway. Our yard is a decent size and there is absolutely no way that Zone could have applied an adequate coverage in such a short amount of time. After 2 years of paying $180+ service fees for our HVAC maintenance at least twice a year, we thought we'd be "priority" customers if an emergency happened. But here we are- 8 days and counting in 90+ weather with no air conditioner! What have we been paying for for the last 2 years? When we called to remind Zone that we were due for HVAC service back in May, we were abruptly told "we'll get back to you"-cut to a month later, no one got back to us about our regularly scheduled service and sure enough, the AC has stopped working. We called Zone again to get someone to our house to fix the issue, the tech came this past Friday and we got charged ANOTHER $180 for the tech to tell us the AC is broken. He said it'll be 4 more days before we can even get an estimate even though it's 85+ degrees in our house. Today (Tuesday) we finally get an estimate and it's $7500 for a single story 1000 sq ft house?! Zone's estimate for a brand new HVAC system is nearly twice the estimate price we've gotten from Reliable and Coolray. When we raised these issues, our tech Jason seemed to balk and asked if we "plan on living here for awhile", which sounded an awful lot like we were being held hostage to a miserable living situation unless we agree to be price-gouged for a new HVAC system. Is this how you treat customers who have HVAC contracts with your company? Service and maintenance? Professional attitude? Obviously not. We'll be cancelling our maintenance contract with Zone and letting others know not to deal with your company in the future. read more

We moved into a house that had been sitting vacant for quite some time. Immediately upon moving in we started to notice at least one cockroach in the house per day (some alive, some dead - thanks for our helpful little kitty). We put out traps, sprinkled some borax powder around the house, sealed up a lot of the cracks with caulk, but without fail, we kept finding them. After our DIY methods failed, we decided to call in a professional, so I turned to Yelp. Zone came up on a search and I was pretty pleased with the reviews. I submitted a web form for more information and was contacted the next day by Ben, the local branch manager. He called me the next morning at 10:00am and came out to the house the SAME DAY. Ben came himself and treated the inside as well as the outside. He was very friendly and pointed out our broken foundation vents (which we didn't know about). He showed me the vents they offered, but wasn't pushy about it. We signed up for the quarterly service and he assured me we wouldn't be seeing any live roaches in the house (and if we did, to call and they would come treat again). It's been about a week and so far so good! Haven't seen anything in the house since the treatment. So far, I'm very pleased with Zone! Pricing was good and I can now get into bed at night without checking for cockroaches. Win win situation! read more

This is in response to Zone Solutions coming back out to finish the job for which they were originally hired. I called up Zone Home Solutions again and was able to have a day scheduled for the work to be finished. The contractor came out on Christmas Eve, which I do commend as I usually prefer for people to be with their friends and families during the holidays. It seems that this time the work was completed and the roof no longer leaks. The hole in my ceiling has been filled in and all is well. I've upgraded them by three stars but overall I would still grade my experience as three-and-a-half stars. The pros: 1. The job was completed this time and seems to be fixed. We'll see what happens over time if it truly too but I'm very optimistic. 2. Stayed here for at least ten hours to finish the work. Was very detailed about making sure it was set properly to prevent any further issues. Poor guy was caked in dry wall dust. 3. Still very friendly and very concerned about the job getting done correctly this time. 4. One of the owners has reached out by contacting me to ensure that the work was completed to my satisfaction. It's good to see that someone actually cares about what people have to write about their business. I write honest reviews about my experiences so people can get a real picture about what to expect from a business. The cons: 1. As it seems to occur with all contractors, just wasn't detail oriented about clean up and making sure that dust wasn't everywhere in the house. I had a lot of dust from the work in my kitchen and living room and have had to clean it up myself, They may want to think outside of the general work area because some people get real upset when this happens. What matters to me in the end is if the work is done to a high standard. The work seems great, the little details still need some attention. read more

When we moved into our house some six year or so ago, it had been sitting empty for several months. During that time, some unwanted pests had settled into the house. This came to my attention soon after we moved in. After doing some research, I called Chemical Technologies (Zone's former name) and they sent out a tech. We've been with them ever since. For the last several years, Justin has been our tech and he is about as good as they get. He's incredibly professional and great at explaining exactly what he's doing. He's also incredibly thorough inside and outside the house. We feel very lucky to have him. Having gotten to know him over the years, I feel like he's become a family friend and we enjoy getting to see him. If we see any bugs in between treatments, all I have to do is call him and he's over to do a respray (this doesn't happen often). This week we had an ant invasion in our kitchen due to the unbearably hot weather and he was out that day to take care of it. Awesome! I Chose Zone Home solutions based on great Yelp reviews. Initially had them come out to evaluate a failure to cool home + leak in my ~12yr old "builder grade" AC unit. Turns out, the unit was kaput. Scheduled to have an entirely new system put in. They (David and Steve) came at ~10am and finished ~2pm. Very professional, worked quickly and quietly. When removing my old AC unit, Steve found a HUGE black widow spider + her nest under the unit. He squashed her and her eggs and showed me pictures to prove it. That alone earned him 5 stars! Then David told me about Zone's Pest Control services and offered me information about it. Once the new AC unit was put in, David helped me set-up of my wireless thermostats and made sure they were working properly. They cleaned up and then walked me through to show me everything. In the walk through, I noticed there was no T-connector in the upstairs unit to flush the drain periodically. They Immediately fixed it without question. They came in, did exactly what they said they would do in the time frame they said they would do it, for the price I was quoted. There were polite and professional and I had no issues throughout the process. As far as I'm concerned, that's everything you can ask for.
