Best drinks, best karaoke, and best owners (steve and heather) I have found ..they will take care of you here
Holly S.

One of my favorite spots for top quality service, unique drinks and some of the best karaoke I've seen. From Disney to Deftones they are on it here! I feel like I've come to American Idol so definitely bring your A-game singers. This place has a cool horror theme to it and is always playing great thriller and horror flicks. From antidote syringe shots to plasma and blood bags as well as a full bar, you can't go wrong on the drinks. Don't let the cute blood bags fool you. They will sneak up on you. That blood bag has all sorts of ever clear and other goodies that I sadly can't recall. Heather and Steve always watch out for their customers and even when I've came solo I feel safe since they are always checking on me. If you are looking for an apocalaughs type night this is the place to be. Party like it's your lastnight here knowing you will have a blast!

It is a hidden bar with enjoyable karaoke. The folks who were participating yesterday were talented with many different personalities. There are a lot of different drink options. Their specialty cocktails is what I would stick to, and their shots are available. I love their 'Starf*ck' cocktail. I've also tried their 'Tokyo Tea'; not too heavy on the melon liqueur. Note: these are not craft cocktails. It is not your typical bar, but feels more like a Halloween party every day. They play horror movies at two corners of the bar where you can enjoy meanwhile cheering for the singers.

Karaoke.

This is a lovely gem right off Nacogdoches and Thousand Oaks. I'd passed it plenty of times but figured it was some comic book store for the hardcore nerds, or some crappy indoor black light miniature golf course. But walking in I was pleasantly amused by the "zombie" and all-things-dead decor, and even more excited about their full bar and drink menu. They have some pretty awesome bartenders here that absolutely made me feel welcome. Smiles, explaining the drink menu and bar concept... They made a great first impression. Even the bouncer at the door was super-nice! On this particular night they hosted karaoke, so if that's your jam and you don't like big crowds, this is a good spot for you. It's definitely the kind of bar where all the misfits can come to play. Much love for this spot...!

Antidote shot.

One of my fav bars in San Antonio. The staff are gems, the atmosphere is just the right amount of weird, and the karaoke sucks but in the best way. Get an antidote jello syringe shot while you're there.

Great cheap drinks. Liked the open mic. A must go to spot. Even the cheap tshirts were a good deal.

I'm not into metal, but it's ok because it's a rock bar with a zombie theme.

Recently we hosted our Morrissey After Party at Bang Bang Bar, following the former Smiths…read morefrontman's sold-out January 10th performance at the Boeing Center at Tech Port and honestly, we couldn't have written a better script. Morrissey hadn't graced San Antonio in over 10 years, with past cancellations and postponements haunting fans along the way. So when he finally returned, San Antonio Moz fans showed up and showed out. Despite multiple after-party options across the city, fans from Brazil, the UK, Canada, Japan, and all across the U.S. chose Bang Bang Bar as the place to be on a cold Saturday night. Hosted by local emcee Ricardo Moz and Apollo DJ, the night turned into one for the history books. Bang Bang Bar is easily one of Texas' best dive-lounge bars...the perfect blend of gritty and cozy. Great cocktail program, solid beer selection, and a vibe that just works. The décor leans heavy into a 1950s-60s lounge aesthetic, with intimate spaces like the Blue Room and Yellow Room, perfect for groups of 7-10. Low lighting, warm atmosphere, and zero pretension exactly what you want for a night like this. Bang Bang Bar consistently supports local and touring acts, spanning punk, alternative, and DJ-driven nights, and this Moz Smiths Disco was no exception. It was wall-to-wall classics all night long. Major credit to Phanie and the Bang Bang Bar management they rolled up their sleeves, brought in extra bar staff, and handled an overwhelming crowd like pros. Fans waited up to 45 minutes in the cold, with a line wrapping around the building, and the energy inside never dipped. As the host of Panic On The Streets, I'm incredibly thankful to Bang Bang Bar for helping us pull off one of the best after-parties we've done in years. Fittingly, 2026 marks the 10-year anniversary of both Bang Bang Bar and Panic On The Streets of San Antonio and what a way to celebrate. Bang Bang Bar has long been one of my favorite bars in town, and after this night, that reputation is more than earned. Can't wait to do another Moz Smiths Disco here. -- Panic On The Streets of San Antonio

They were happy to answer my questions and I was never made to feel rushed. The bar itself has an awesome vibe. It's divey but offer fancy drinks. The bar has a stage (we've seen FEA perform there) and they have ample seating (tables, couches, stools, etc). I also enjoy how each couch area is its own living room setup (think of what you see when shopping for couches/coffee tables) and feel/vibe. I make it a point to come and visit this bar any time I'm in San Antonio. We love supporting Phanie and her bands in any way possible. Girl in a Coma and FEA 4ever!

You know the night before a holiday urge to go get a drink in your hometown feel? I know it and I…read morewas super excited to see Slow Ride come up as an option for me and my sister to pop in and catch up over some drinks. Parking along the street is free (along the fence line of Sam Houston) and was not an issue even for a holiday. There is a paid parking lot that is secure and available too so note that if ever you have an issue finding a good spot. Walking into Slow Ride is like walking into your tio's (uncle) or a grandpa's cool, 70's/80;s vibey, and home-y bar. This is the kind of spot where every picture you take of yourself, or your friends, will look like you took it in the 80's! This is not a bad thing either. Seriously. It IS A VIBE here! Cushy seats at the bar was my favorite spot to hang out while we had some cold beers and a shot to go alongside it too. They have beer and shot combos here around $8. You get plenty of choices on beer and liquor of choice. I opted for a tallboy Lonestar and a small shot of the Mexican Candy. My sister got a Live Oak Hefe in a can (she likes Blue Moon so this was the closest thing to it and she liked it!) and later a Shiner in a bottle. I also decided to close out with a daiquiri that was super delicious and offered in nice glassware. Patio out in the back is spacious and a great spot to hang out with a group of friends. The back space is taken care of and has a modern look to it out there. I can see it being a nice vibe outside on a pretty day too. Jukebox is legit! All great music selections from all genres on CDs and pretty cheap too to play 5-8 songs. The artwork around here is worth a look around too. I love all the unique Garfield toys surrounding the bar area too. All of the back bar is so great with the wooden shelving and lighting too. You can see many honorable nods to those who currently or have served. It's a great thing to see especially so close to Sam Houston. One thing I have a pet peeve on is any service bar who has to keep my card on file. I am the worst person who won't remember so I have to be extra careful when bars keep my card. I usually walk and don't mind paying the 20+% tab walk fee but I do want my card back so I have to get everyone who is with me to remind me to go get it. That's why I am giving it 4 stars. I am looking forward to coming back in the future and bringing some more family and friends, though. This spot is so nostalgic and their social is super active and will promote DJs and sets happening that week and into the weekend. Go check them out and play some pool. You're gonna feel like you are in a Matthew McConaughey movie when you do. Tell me I am wrong!!!

Let me set the scene. My wife and I, a couple of desert dwellers from the Coachella Valley, were…read moreexploring the beautiful city of San Antonio. The Texas sun, however, was doing its absolute best impression of the surface of a star that day, and we were desperately seeking an oasis of air conditioning and fine spirits. We stumbled upon your establishment, and I'm now convinced it was less of a coincidence and more of a divine, thirst-quenching intervention. The positive experience started before we even breached the doorway. The security guard out front wasn't just a guard; he was more like a friendly ambassador to a better, cooler dimension. He greeted us with a genuine smile, not the usual stony-faced glare that makes you nervously try to recall if you've done anything illegal in the last 48 hours. As we stepped inside, we were greeted by the owner herself as she was on her way out. She actually stopped, smiled, and welcomed us in. In this day and age, it's not every day the head honcho takes a second to greet a couple of random, heat-stroked travelers. That single, classy gesture told us everything we needed to know. And we were right. The inside is impeccable. It's the kind of place that makes you feel a little more sophisticated just by being there. The bar staff are basically wizards; true alchemists of alcohol who are not only incredibly friendly but are clearly masters of their craft, slinging drinks with an effortless cool. Now, let's talk about the main event. As someone sitting here back in the Coachella Valley, I am practically weeping with jealousy. I wish we had bars like this! The fact that I have to get on a plane for this kind of experience feels like a crime against humanity. Do yourself a favor and order the Deep Eddie Pineapple. Don't ask questions, just trust me. It's like a tropical vacation in a glass, and it might just change your outlook on life. You'll want to send me a thank you card later. Don't. Just buy another one and toast to my excellent advice. A huge thank you to Morgan and the entire team for a truly memorable night. You didn't just give us a drink; you gave us a highlight of our trip and a fantastic story to tell!

After that terrible experience I went to the bar and was ignored for a long time. I eventually got the bartenders attention only after I was on my phone for a long time.
