Holy Zoli, I'm so foli. Wow, what a meal I just had. As I've continued to review food, I'm starting to find that I'm less of a food critic and more of a food admirer. When I heard that Chef Christian Petroni was becoming a part of the Zoli/Cane Rosso brand, I knew I had to come check it out. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. You could be like everyone else and order an appetizer as a starter or you could be different and much cooler by ordering a pizza as a starter. The square Christian Vodka pizza was one of the best, if not the best pizzas I've ever had in Texas. Usually Sicilian style pizza looks and feels heavy much like I did when I was 200lbs in 8th grade wearing husky jeans. But it wasn't, it was so light. The crust was unreal. The sesame seeds on the bottom gave it so much depth, flavor, and texture. Wow, what a crunch. Pair that with the vodka sauce and fresh mozzarella, and you're transported into a state of tranquility completely forgetting that you told your wife that you'd mop the floors today. Oops. The other pizza we devoured was the Christian Pescroni. If you haven't had jalapeño pesto, you're missing out much like I missed out on getting to wear tighter jeans growing up. But that's okay, you'll get there and when you do you'll be ever so glad. I never knew I needed it in my life until today. Next, I'll mention the roasted corn carbonara. As someone that married someone with a small percentage of Italian heritage, I was taken aback with adding roasted corn to a carbonara. But then I was brought right back in when I took my first bite. The perfect dish to eat for brunch/linner. Just something about homemade pasta that reminds you that everything's gonna be okay. Lastly, we ended with the gooey butter cake. Crunchy outside with a soft and gooey inside just like me. It tasted exactly how it feels to lay down in a temperpedic bed for the first time. I didn't want to get up. The cake had a lemon zest with raspberries and whipped cream. I almost had to stay until 5 so I could try the lasagna and then order it again, it was so good. I can't forget to mention how great the atmosphere and music was. Everything about it made you want to stay and order more food. My only regret is not staying till 5 so I could try the lasagna and order the cake again. Needless to say, I'll be back Zoli. You were good for the souli. read more

We came here for a birthday dinner with a few friends. Matthew, our server, went above and beyond during our time here! We had the best buffalo chicken Mac and cheese (thank you Matthew and chef), the meatball sandwich, carbonara, Brussels sprouts, zucchini fries and pizza! Everything was so fresh, seasoned to perfection and just dang delicious! We ended with gooey butter cake, and that was the perfect ending to a great dining experience. Our company luncheon at Zoli's was a slice of heaven for 10 hungry folks in need of cheese therapy. They specialize in NY style round pizzas that hit the bullseye for taste and creativity. The Ranch BLT pizza had us intrigued and while it was a tasty combination, the lettuce made it a "one lunch wonder". Reheating ? Fuhgettaboutit! But the pepperoni and jalapeño pizza stole the spotlight at our table. The meatball appetizer was generous in size and came with fantastic bread and sauce. The ambience is as cool as a comedy club and our server was the headliner of the day, joining in our jokes and adding a sprinkle of levity to the luncheon. Now let's talk about the elephant (or should I say the construction) in the room. The ongoing construction on Midway in front of Zoli's is a bear. But they offer a happy hour that's a real deal sealer! All day Monday and Tuesday they roll out specials on pizzas, wines, house cocktails and draft beers turning even traffic jams into a reason to celebrate. One of my favorite pizza spots! We think we find a favorite then try something new & it becomes the new favorite. We also like that there are different crust options which makes it seem like there's an even bigger variety. The pastas & salads are amazing too! Service is good. Making a reservation has been best for us but even when we haven't had one, we seem to get seated pretty quick & still get great service. Most of all we love all the Star Wars. The hostess was charming and made eye contact! Amazing! Our servers, both times I've been, have been relaxed and engaged, despite how busy it was. Who knew that a pizza place had one of the best burgers in the DFW area? Well now you know! I was told about this place so we decided to go for lunch on a Saturday. My friend recommended that we try their burger but when we saw the pizza offers we had to get one of those too. We had the Honey Bastard pizza and it was super delicious. If they sold the habanero honey I would literally buy a jar of it. All the ingredients together worked perfectly and just exploded in your mouth. The burger was incredible. It's done in a smash style but don't let that fool you, it was still full of flavor. The meat was seasoned well and the cheese was bountiful. Overall I highly recommend checking them out. The service was great, they have a full bar, and they have one of the best burgers in DFW. read more

Updated Zoli's review!! We had a large family reunion Friday night with a long standing reservation at Zoli's. First off, the service was absolutely fantastic. The most relaxed, competent, and kind staff provided us with everything we needed. Even with 10+ kids doing what kids do, playing...loudly lol. I believe our server's name was Belinda. She took every drink order, appetizer, and entree order and made zero mistakes for such a large party. We were all so impressed. Thank you Belinda! Tried the honey bastard this time around since we already love it at Cane Rosso. It was good. Really really good. The crust is thicker at Zoli's which I appreciated. This used to be our favorite spot for pizza, but after ordering take out recently, we were left a bit disappointed. The square pizza we loved is no longer thick and fluffy as we remembered. Maybe it was an off day, but we ended up with a flat deflated crust. For the extra charge for square, it was disappointing....still tasted yummy though. read more

I have lost count the number of times I've been here. Doesn't matter because every time it's satisfying the pizza gourmand inside me. Pizza is the perfect meal. Fancy pizza is even better. It's worth checking out what is the pizza of the month. I forgot the name of this months pizza, prince's something or other. Doesn't matter. It was delicious - something with Nashville style hot chicken, pickles. They had me at pickles. The photo where half the pizza is already gone, that was the pizza of the month. So good I forgot to document until after I was already eating. Good drinks, good beers. 10 out 10 recommend their zucchini fries appetizer. It's the best way to have zucchini. We got 3 burgers (if you haven't had a burger from Zoli's you're missing out on quite possibly the best burger you will ever eat), the brisket lasagna, and the Round CBR pizza! The star of the meal was the burger; our guests were thoroughly impressed by the burgers and the lasagna. Though the Round CBR is filled with delicious bacon and some yummy cheese, parts of the crust were extremely burnt. I will say the everything bagel season on the crust also made things extremely saltyyy (and I'm someone who loves salt). I will say I do appreciate that Zoli's has their contact information on every pizza box, and they appear to be accessible and readily available to help with any situation! We thoroughly enjoy Zolis! My partner is not much of a pizza person but even she enjoys Zolis. We've been a few times now and every time we visit the service is pretty great. I will say the first time we visited the service was amazing! We love the nugz and highly recommend them as an appetizer. I've tried their salad which is also great. And we love building our own pizza. We usually do half and half with custom toppings. We never have any problem doing that. The pizza is always delicious! The place has a great vibe with it. The flavors and toppings were great, but the pizza was very floppy and seemed like it needed to be cooked longer. It didn't have the New York style crust or crisp. I travel the US all the time for work when the air is not trying to kill us (Covid, no business travel for over 2 years now). When I got my Spangler (Plain Cheese pizza, named after Egon... duh) with pepperoni, and sausage, and I think mushrooms, something crazy happened. You can argue that it didn't happen, but I'd take this debate. The roof disappeared, I saw the sky, and all of the clouds parted, and all I heard was "hallelujah". I try pizza in just about every state I go. I'm not going to go as far as to say that I'm a pizza expert, haven't had the opportunity to explore that yet. What I will say is simple. This place is a love letter to pizza. Everything is clearly done with making each pizza the best it can be. This is a place I'll be taking close friends to so they can enjoy the experience. Really easy and simple review here. The OD Burger, though didn't change my life, is everything I want from a burger. Ooey Gooey Melty Soft Warm and Plush. Flavor was ok. But I would definitely order it again. There's only one thing you need to know about this NY White Pizza we ordered. It's the best dough and crust I have had in a real long time (maybe ever). If you've seen my reviews in the past, the recurring theme of "pizza tastes better in the tri-state" is alive and well. I will admit though that Zoli's Honey Bastard was uniquely Italian, American, Texan.. and pretty freakin delicious. And our server was from the Jersey shore. My favorite place to get pizza in the Dallas area. I'm from NY and love pizza of all kinds, and Zoli's has a great thin crust and Detroit style as well. I prefer the Detroit style, but my son prefers the thin. Good overall menu too, more than just pizza. Good pastas and apps. I get either the Spangler (regular cheese with some basil) or the Christian Pescroni with Jalapeño pesto. Not traditional NY pizza, but delicious. read more

Didn't even wait to drive home to rip into this box. Gobbled up two pieces (middle and then a corner piece of course!). I was really wanting Sicilian pizza and saw Zoli offers square pizza!!! Yes when you order, let them know which shape pizza! It is SO good. Perfect crust, sweet and savory sauce, some cheese, not too much and we added mushrooms. When you sink your teeth into this pizza, you can't help grab another slice... it's so good. Ordering is different, you gotta read the descriptions in the menu, for a more traditional flavor, we got the Spangler + mushroom. We'll definitely come back and be more adventurous about trying the other combinations. That and try some of the interesting sides or dessert! read more
