The walls are covered from floor to ceiling with framed photographs of historic figures and local patrons. The classic red-and-white checkered tablecloths complete the nostalgic atmosphere. Our server, Jocelyn, was outstanding! Her descriptions of the menu were thoughtful, informative, and delivered with genuine care. We began with fresh bread accompanied by a tableside preparation of balsamic vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, and a light touch of pepper. So good! Our appetizers included calamari and a trio of bruschetta. Both were delicious! The house salad with Italian dressing was another excellent choice. For our main courses, we selected two combination plates. The first featured lasagna and shrimp scampi -- the best shrimp scampi in Dallas! The second featured lasagna and four-cheese ravioli with red sauce. Every bite was delicious! Adding to the experience was the wonderful background music, featuring Frank Sinatra and other legendary performers of the era. It was the perfect complement to the restaurant's old-school Italian charm. Throughout our meal, Jocelyn anticipated our every want and need. She is truly a professional who understands the art of providing stellar service. During our dinner, we were personally greeted by the manager, Cody Hancock. Here is a gentleman who knows his craft, understands how to build an exceptional team, and genuinely cares about making every guest's visit memorable. His personal attention, combined with Jocelyn's outstanding service, made us feel truly special. That kind of genuine hospitality is becoming increasingly rare, and it deserves recognition. And while it was steak, the kitchen's skill was shown through the excellent sauce that accompanied it. The service was attentive, including the host staff who graciously moved us outside. I was quite pleased on that front. Ambiance/decor is fine. But the inside of the restaurant is loud. Like, really loud. If you're hard of hearing like my mother, it will be impossible to talk inside. And if you don't like practically yelling to communicate, it will be uncomfortable. There were also issues with their AC this visit so it was stuffy inside. These (hopefully one-off) issues notwithstanding, I would definitely go back to Il Bracco and probably will in the future.

The slices were so large I decided to cut them all in half and ate half for dinner and the rest for lunch the next day. They also serve wings, calzones, garlic knots, pastas, salads, and sandwiches. All typical items you'd find at a pizza place. The slices are what keeps people coming in here. We've been wanting to try Lucia for YEARS, but we're terrible at planning ahead, and as everyone knows, getting a reservation here can be tricky because they're almost always full. So, we decided to try our luck and randomly showed up right when they opened, hoping we might be able to grab two seats at the bar. What we didn't know was that I was talking to one of the owners. I told her that if she couldn't seat us, we completely understood and that it was totally okay. She responded, "This is my restaurant, so I want you to eat here." I thought that was absolutely adorable, and she somehow worked her magic and got us seated at the bar. We started with cocktails, and they brought us some delicious olives to snack on. We also ordered the fresh bread and butter, which was the perfect way to start. For dinner, we shared the ravioli and Wagyu bavette, and WOW. Both dishes were absolutely incredible. My immediate thought was, Why the hell have I not eaten here before?! Everything tasted incredibly fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and perfectly balanced. You can tell the ingredients are high quality, and there's clearly a lot of care that goes into every plate. Honestly, this was exactly what we needed after a crappy work week. It turned a rough week into a really special night, and I left already thinking about when we could come back.
